How The Hell Was Nicholls Excluded ?
Subedei replied to bmth11's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Do you seriously think young Shovlar would let the Lindback-Crump clash go without a few comments? That incident is well documented within the meeting thread. -

Is that what they call it these days? -

Which, I guess, is just as well, since we wouldn't want the poor dear to have been frightened by Nicholls' four-lettered tirade after his exclusion, would we? -
He may know, but I dread to think.

I agree - the animosity between Andersen and Nicholls does appear to becoming unhealthy. -

Still, it's all good fun and we've got a fair few pages to go if we're going to catch the "scamming Panthers" thread. -
There was nothing to suggest that Sullivan would score just 1 point at Malilla last night. But that's exactly what he did score. I just wonder if OO will still be a man of iron after a night with the infamous 'Bird - the meanest of speedway's mean reduced to a quivering wreck, begging for the 'Bird to be excluded for wild and dangerous riding.

Doesn't look to me like there's any planned for that date: http://stal.rzeszow.pl/news//fullnews.php?id=199 I believe "Wrzesnia" is September and if Rzeszow aren't riding, as the above shows, I doubt anyone else is.

More likely Sky couldn't be bothered to pay for her to travel. -
How The Hell Was Nicholls Excluded ?

There was another similarity, both included Nicholls throwing his weight around. Personally, I think the aggregate of the two Nicholls incidents told against him when the referee came to make his second decision. -
I think if anything showed why Loram shouldn't bother with the GPs again it was Sullivan's abject performance in Malilla last night. Sullivan, like Loram, was a GP winner, but his last couple of GP seasons, again like Loram's, were awful. But, people cried, Sullivan's back to his best. Their time in the GPs have come and gone. They belong to the past. Do you really want to see Loram scoring 2-3 points in the GPs? Didn't think so.

I thougtht Nicholls was slightly unfortunate last night - maybe the referee should've had done with it and excluded them both. But you're right, it seems that Nicholls increasingly only has the "throwing weight" around option on track. -
Time for another "open letter" young fellow? I don't know, maybe the Clerk of the Course" at Malilla didn't say the meeting would have to be abandoned? I seem to recall the "Clerk of the Course" at Poole saying something along those lines to the referee.

End of the day, final analysis, people can watch it until the cows come home and then continue watching it until the cows go back out again and they're not going to change their minds. Those who are devoted to Nicholls will still believe he did nothing wrong and those that are devoted to Andersen will still believe the referee was correct. -
I agree, the duo do seem to be developing an unhealthy obsession with each other.

A shameful performance from Gollob, although he did at least put a little effort into his final race. It seems he's only interested in racing on slick, dry tracks these days. Anyway, regardless of that, I still thought it a poor GP, raced in appalling conditions. The only thing that kept it interesting was the controversy and Jonsson's brilliance.

Somehow, I don't think those are the answers SCB is looking for.

I don't think Nicholls would've been excluded if the earlier Nicki P incident hadn't happened - two riders down in successive runnings of the same heat and both after clashes with Nicholls. -
That's what I've been saying all along. He's a huge talent and finally, tonight, with a helping hand from lady luck when it counted, he won. Congratulations to him. That's a shame, I'd like to have read your thoughts.

I think Andersen was, finally, in the wrong, but Nicholls just throws his not inconsiderable bulk around these days and that gets you a reputation. Let's not be blind to that - British riders are just as capable of getting reputation as Messrs Nicki P and Andersen. There's an air of desperation about some of Nicholls' moves on track these days, or so it seems. -
2006 Grand Prix Competition
Subedei replied to Steve Turner's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I reckon if I didn't keep picking aTomek Gollob, I could be winning. But I'll keep faith. This Mongol is as constant as the Northern Star. -
That is okay. As I said, conditions played a part and Andersen's error helped, but there's no doubt that Jonsson was excellent tonight. I stand by my comments. But my opinion has had a knock tonight. And I couldn't be happier. It's good to see Jonsson finally making the most of his awesome ability, which, as you know, I've never questioned.

How are you doing this season young Turner? I know you play along without posting. -
I thought the second it happened that Lindback was in the wrong, but I feared Crump might be unfairly excluded. My opinion hasn't altered, except I now know that Crump wasn't excluded.
-
I'm sorry, but there's just no way to talk sensibly about Jason Crump with you, which is a shame because I think you have great knowledge of the sport. You just have a blind spot when it comes to Crump. The guy is superb and an absolute credit to the sport.
