If PePe keeps hold of Pental as a sponsor, I'd imagine BSI wouldn't mind having him around.
-
And you can be sure that no one will be keeping a closer eye on procedings than BSI. They'll be hoping the likes of Andersen, Kolodziej, Protasiewicz, Stead, Harris or Holta make it through - they don't want the likes of Jagus, Ferjan or Smolinski cluttering up their circus. They don't like qualifying, they can't control it.
-
Congratulations Jason
Subedei replied to sjw ministerofport's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I do believe that last night's win takes Crump to a grand total of 16 GP wins, just a mere 4 behind TR. And that's from a lot fewer GPs than Rickardsson, who, of course, lays claim - among certain quarters - to being the greatest rider ever. -
Scott Nicholls
Subedei replied to Hans Andersen No1 Fan's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
He ruined one of my favourite refrains. Ah well, nevermind, fair play to young Nicholls on finally making a final again and getting second. He may have had a little good fortune in the semi, according to some (didn't see it, so can't comment in detail), but even the Crumps and Rickardssons of this world need the occasional slice of luck. -
2006 Grand Prix Competition
Subedei replied to Steve Turner's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Didn't see much of the GP - a combination of attending Berwick and then having to search for a fleeing dog after the people down the road suddenly let fireworks off as I was walking him - but was content to find Leigh Adams had made the final. -
Rained last season, from memory. And the GP was awful. Think I'll take my chances in the cruel, crazy town tonight and see what's happened when I get home.
-
But haven't Bydgoszcz also lost out by having their team in place, more or less, before the foreign rider rules changed? Wroclaw left their team building until late in the day, as did Czestochowa, and are able to field Andersen and Crump (Wroclaw) and Sullivan, Hancock and Richardson (Czestochowa). Bydgoszcz only really have Jonsson and the Russian junior Sajfutdinov.
-
With a 10 team Ekstraliga in the pipeline, I don't see Rybnik being relegated. Unia Tarnow would, of course, have been in a better position if Lukas Dryml and Jacek Gollob hadn't left Leszno's stadium early and lost their points in the first fixture of the season - I think they'll make the top 4, but they seem to be in crisis at the minute.

Team Gb Captain Dignified In Defeat
Subedei replied to FlyinRyan's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Quite right. Nicholls certainly isn't troubled about throwing his not inconsiderable bulk around, whether on or off track, as the Thomas incident showed. -
Tony Not At The Italian Gp
Subedei replied to osn's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
That would certainly be a fantastic way to end his career - ending Gollob's 4 year winning run at Bydgoszcz. But, I think he'll struggle to raise his game - he's just drifted this season. -
Interesting, but not as interesting as: DRABIK CLEARED SLAWOMIR Drabik has been cleared from charges presented by his wife. She claimed he chained her to the bed. The woman was freed by police and claimed it was her husband, the Wlokniarz Czestochowa rider, who had imprisoned her. She repeated the same version one day later at the police station. All suspicions lead to Drabik. However, the woman's father admitted that it was his responsibility. "We had problems with her. She was drinking to much alcohol and taking some pills. We could not stop her. I got mad and chained her," he said. Drabik is happy that he has been cleared. "It is good that I am not a villain any more. However, I feel like somebody has knocked me down," said Slawomir. Also from speedwayworld.tv

Jason Crump's performance in Tony Rickardsson's farewell this afternoon tells you all you need to know about Crump - a totally meaningless fixture, but he recorded 14 points from 5 rides. Doesn't matter what the meeting is, Crump gives it everything. But shouldn't he have let the Shovlar-proclaimed "greatest rider ever" to win their clash in Ht 4? Quite right, no he shouldn't.
-
I'd say a lot of the difference between this season and last, is that Crump is now on GM motors - last season he looked desperately slow at the highest level, but his skill and determination carried him through to second in the world. Jason Crump and Tomasz Gollob have both gone from Jawa to GM, question is: when's Adams going to follow suit?
-
I don't particularly care about finishing second either. But, had it been my team, I'm inclined to believe I would still exclude Crump from any blame and look at the team mates - Crump from 4 completed rides scored 4 points more than any of his team mates, one of whom is clearly world class (Adams). Had Crump stayed on board and collected 4 points (Joker ride), he'd have scored double the points any of his team mates had scored. Crump didn't let anyone down last night. And he rarely lets anyone down, except for those who want to see him fail.

Pederson And Olsen
Subedei replied to Speedking's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Nicki P ought to be very careful - using modern parlance, what goes around comes around. Olsen's not a guy to be messed with. He's no sense of humour, never forgets and will take his revenge in time. What I couldn't work out was why Nicki P was so troubled about Jonsson's move in their heat - I couldn't see anything wrong with it whatever. Jonsson had the line, had the lead, should've kept the throttle wound on and taken the win. That's what Nicki P would've done in his steel shoe. -
The only thing McGowan's got a justifiable cause to be upset about, it's his exclusion in his final heat - Crump scored four times as many points as McGowan. Crump didn't lose the Australians anything - McGowan, Adams and Sullivan are the culprits, if anyone is. Crump kept Australia in the hunt and he was let down by his team mates.
-
1. Travis McGowan 1, 2, 0, 0, Fx = 3 2. Ryan Sullivan 0, 2, 1, 1, 0 = 4 3. Todd Wiltshire 0, 2, 3, 2, 1 = 8 4. Leigh Adams 2, 2, 1, 3, 0 = 8 5. Jason Crump 3, 3, 3, 3, F = 12 Remind me, which rider let Australia down tonight?
-
Crump doesn't care about second - winning is all that matters to men like him.
-
Rather shameful behaviour from the Danes tonight, but they had a point. Andersen had Harris beaten all ends up and Harris went down too easily. I just don't understand why Nicki P was getting so worked up about his clash with Jonsson - Jonsson had the line, had him beat and should've kept the throttle wound on. That's what Nicki P himself, Andersen and Crump would've done.
-
So, Australia's demise had nothing to do with abject showings from Adams, McGowan and Sullivan, but was solely because of a Crump error in the final race? I don't think so. Crump was magnificent, again, for Australia tonight.
-
Add an "e" and you're just about there.

Reading Semi-final
Subedei replied to Private Dancer's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Most people thought the Poles would "walk it" at Rybnik. A good few people thought the Danes would "walk it" at Swindon last year and would prove too good for Sweden at Malilla. And then they failed to do themselves justice in the SWC in Denmark in 2003. I say they underachieve in the SWC. What am I on? Reality, that's what. -
Reading Semi-final
Subedei replied to Private Dancer's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
The draw looks to have been favourable for Poland, since Red and Blue seem to be the helmet colours to have - inside gates early and outside gates later. The Danes look to have a very unfavourable draw: it could cost them dearly. This looks tough to call, but I'll go with Team GB to win, followed by Poland, Denmark and the USA - the Danes just never seem to come up with the goods at the SWC. They were heavily fancied last year, but would probably not have made the final had Crump been available to Australia in the race-off. Still, can't see anyone touching Australia on Saturday. -
