What a weekend from the depths of Friday at Scunthorpe to the heights of last night at Stoke. A truly awesome performance by every man woman and child involved with the club. Feel like a Shetland pony this morning (a little horse ) but what a weekend. Everyone is so proud of what Mildenhall speedway have achieved this season and how far they have come in the last few months when it looked as if speedway might be lost to West Row. Whatever the result, lets enjoy today and make it a party atmosphere at West Row and who knows what could happen? Its a funny old game....

Mildenhall V Stoke Nl Po Sf 2nd Leg
refereerick replied to andy1967's topic in National League Speedway
First of all a big well done to the Mildenhall lads for reaching the Playoff finals The hard work was done in the first leg at Loomer Road on Saturday night and although the Fen Tigers got a slice of luck yesterday with the withdrawals of Gareth Isherwood and Tim Webster, they did what they had to do to get through. Hopefully Gareth and Tim will recover soon from their respective injuries, and also Cameron Heeps who was suffering with a sore neck after his coming together with Webster. I huge thank you must go to Morten Risager, who when it was discovered that Heeps frame was cracked, got his bike from his van and had it stripped down to replace the back end of Heeps bike! Aided by the help of many of the Mildenhall team and mechanics, what a team effort. Finally on the number 8 matter, Mildenhall have at least twice had a no.8 at West Row this season with both Niall Strudwick and Shane Henry taking the positions, and also Niall was no.8 at West Row for the Isle of Wight I think -

Cracking little meeting, Stefan Nielsen looked awesome around the Eddie Wright Raceway and Lee Smethills was on top form. Joe Jacobs had a great night for the Fen Tigers, but why no tac rides? Everybody could see the obvious heats to use them (12 & 14) which Jacobs and Blackbird went on to win, cost the Fen Tigers what could be a very important point in regards to the playoffs. Craig Ackroyd needs a new watch, Garrity getting 2 minutes 53 seconds to get to the gate in heat 6 as I timed him and likewise Adam Wrathall getting 2 minutes 20 seconds in heat 14 My thoughts go out to John Oliver who had a really nasty one, hope he recovers soon from a nasty accident which was no fault of his own Finally, I was very impressed with the set up at Scunthorpe, my first visit and certainly wont be my last, great track, friendly people and two meetings which were pushed along, 4 hours for two meetings which included a near half an hour gap between meetings to re grade the track, a long stoppage for John's accident which must have been a good half an hour and at my count ten re-runs through the two meetings My only gripe was can you make it a touch warmer next time I venture up please?

I've not got the scorers Greg, but Trevor Heath impressed me big time, with at least one winning time quicker than some of the times in the NL meeting! I think he won either 3 or 4 races.

Great night for the Fen Tigers Shame about the disgusting cheering from the Dudley fans when Blackbird fell and for Jacobs spill after heat 14 - could hear alot of cheers clearly on the radio Not a good advert for Dudley i'm afraid

Not sure that adds up Rob as Lakeside have links with West Ham United so they're in the same boat as Cradley fans
