  1. Effective date, according to the new team declarations is 28th. Which I think means that Dan will remain at reserve up to and including the away match at Plymouth. Dan's status as a rising star is an interesting point. For what it's worth, he is not declared in the Leicester team as such (brother Joe is). But if Dan, as a 1 star rising star on the official list, can guest for any other rising star, I think he's going to get a lot of bookings. His new CL average from 28th is 6.05
  2. As a Coventry fan, stilling holding to the belief that Brandon may yet reopen, it was my pleasure to register my objection to this new planning application.
  3. I guess if there was any kind of logic, Jake Knight would be riding for Gdansk. Until he got half way there of course, when the meeting would be formally postponed.
  4. But hang on. If the GP is rerunning, does that mean the Polish meetings are cancelled/postponed? That would mean Hans can be in East Sussex.
  5. Nevermind the GP, I'm going to Eastbourne . If they are rerunning the GP tomorrow, where is Scott going to be?
  6. We're doing Plymouth, Poole and Belle Vue on consecutive days. And we're Bees fans. And before some wit comes on. I did know that Hans isn't doubling up with the Cubs
  7. I won't speak His name. It's supposed to be sacrilege. But if I were you, I'd addressed it care of St Peter.
  8. Anyone making an assessment of Hans just now is forgetting two things. 1. It's a bit early, surely. 2. We got Hans for nowt, average wise. He, and a hopefully promising 4 pointer, replace two riders who were scoring very little. And that's on today's averages. Don't forget, the twins new averages which will total nearly 10 points when they both started on a 2 average. Travelling to far away places to watch Leicester will be a lot less of a gamble than has been.
  9. As a complete outsider, King's Lynn seem to be in complete melt down. Whatever our personal opinions of anyone associated with the club, it's sad to see.
  10. Several years ago, long before Brandon closed, a similar fence was erected for safety reasons at stock car meetings. We were told it was mandatory. Generally speaking it wasn't too much of a problem when watching the speedway, except when the sun caught it at a certain angle. Then you couldn't see anything. Ironically, I think it would have been a lot better if they'd painted it black.
  11. There are a few of the faithful, me included, still hoping for Brandon to reopen. And yes, I have supported the Bees through thick and thin.
  12. I wasn't absolutely sure that Scott touched the tapes in heat 1. I was sure that Steve Worrall did. Either way, one of them had to go. The only question was, "Which one?". The only decision that makes no sense at all is all 4 back. I'm glad I wasn't trying to explain that decision to someone who had never seen seedway before.
  13. Good question. Knowing their averages would be interesting. However, knowing the RS averages is even more important than one of just interest. Did I not read that they are eligible to be promoted into the top 5 of their teams? Surely we fans should be able to see how these riders fit into their teams average wise. Or am I expecting too much?
  14. Come off it. If you were on such a roll, wouldn't you still be in the competition. If you can't beat your own spread figures, well! You'll be accusing me of sour grapes next. Can't I have a dog's chance?
  15. I have to say that Ty's comment to the extent that he was trying to do a full time job and ride for two clubs, a bit surprising. I know it depends a lot on the full time job, but just riding for two clubs alone must get hectic at times. I have rated Ty in the past but his all round performance for Leicester this season has been very disappointing. I left Brough Park on Sunday very angry indeed and was 99% certain then that we'd seen Ty's last race for Leicester (for now at least). I wish him the very best. He can be good enough to make a very positive contribution to any club. But right now, Leicester need a second string that can score a solid 5 or 6, especially when running RR for Josh Bates. The twins have really stepped up of late, especially Dan. But we have to remember they are still only 17 with limited experience. It's not fair to rely on them to compensate for two low scoring second strings. If the team sort out those 2 and 4 positions, they'll be a match for any team, home or away.
  16. We made the trip and it didn't go down well with us either.
  17. You'd think, after tonight's game, that a lot of folks would be looking for something else to do when England play their next match.
  18. That is correct. For those of us who had already purchased tickets for this event, I received an email to say my money will be refund (?) and I should buy new ones. This is important news, because if you aren't watching your email inbox and you turn up on Sunday with the original tickets, I assume you won't get in.
  19. You're right, of course. But many clubs are running close to edge. Any barrier, perceived or actual, to "going to the speedway" can be financially critical.
  20. I deleted the reference to the Panthers..... The fear is that several clubs delay their fixtures by 4 weeks, we won't get the league completed.
  21. I stand corrected. I was certain I saw the majority of fans paying at the window.
  22. That was my assumption. But if a club like Newcastle (and they can't be the only one) is suffering simply because a proportion of it's customer base are put off from attending due to having to buy tickets online, surely it can be argued that if it's ok to pay at the gate in one area, it must be ok in another. Can a local authority can't be so job's worth as to threaten a local treasure simply by applying rules that are not applied in identical circumstances elsewhere?
  23. This not being able to pay at the gate rule is confusing me. We were at Edinburgh last Friday and I'm sure most people were paying on the gate. Leicester say you must buy your tickets in advance. Scunthorpe only recommend it. I assume there may be national rules but it appears individual clubs in England are either making their own rules or they are dictated to by the local authority. Edit: P.S. We've already bought our tickets online for Sunday's match
