  1. I couldn't believe when I checked to see when the 2nd leg was... all the way at the end of June. I know these two fixtures were scheduled originally for Good Friday but another case of poor fixture scheduling harming British Speedway. It's certainly taken the edge off this one abit. Intrigued to see how many Poole fans travel up as they bought quite a few with them last year on both occasions, or I wonder if they've lost faith in this team already? Looking forward to it
  2. This is one of the things that is my biggest gripe with British Speedway, which is shared by many others too - I highly expect the one over 8 has been sorted out amongst promotors but it isn't ever seen worth while spreading that knowledge with their paying customers. Neil Watson a promoter came on here earlier in the year and told everyone that the rolling averages were being reset and everyone would be issued new averages after 4H and 4A. It now seems that's been changed again and we are back to rolling averages with no explanation again or confirmation, other than new averages being published. Fans continue to be kept in the dark and treated like mugs... probably for fear of them understanding and knowing the rules better than themselves!
  3. We were told earlier in the year that rolling averages were being reset and everyone had to complete 4H 4A. Seems like another mid season change to the rule book! It makes sense, but more madness decision making in the first place.
  4. I'd suggest you take that up with Lakeside, as oppose to Somerset.
  5. I'm saying that people are taking the Lakeside statement as gospel, yet it's worded poorly and could easily be misinterpreted. I'm led to believe Lawson wasn't ill. Sugarray has previously posted earlier in the thread also implying everything is above board, who is a very reliable poster.
  6. Or maybe the Lakeside statement wasn't quite correct?
  7. Well I called it earlier on that I thought we might sneak a point, and with Doyle and Holder continueing their fine form from Poland yesterday it's a pity we didn't get any more. Belle Vue no doubt weakened by having no Worrall but it's unlikely Charles Wright will have another stinker of a night again considering the form he's been in this season. A good well earned point it seems.
  8. Perhaps it has been 7 days? Just because he didn't ride at the weekend, doesn't mean the 7 days started from Friday, if the rule that you're quoting is correct.
  9. Same at Somerset Trees - albeit a different team from last year, Doyle and Wilson-Dean have returned having ridden for us before so the only newbies are Jepperson and Holder... and then Holder signed for us a few years back before being dropped because of an average cock up. It's one of those myths where if people keep saying it enough, people start believing it!
  10. The proven points scorer ForeverBlue was referring to, would be Hans Andersen who was ousted to fit Sundstrom in.
  11. Judging by the reactions from the other Holder too, you can see why he was desperate to be at Somerset with Jack too.
  12. Oh yeah absolutely, completely different tracks and equipment, but it can and must still do wonders for your confidence. Banging in double figures in front of 13,000 on a Sunday must make Somerset feel very small fry when he comes back to the 'track in a field' on Wednesday.
  13. Great viewing over on FreeSports at the moment, with coverage of Torun's meeting in Poland this afternoon. Jack Holder absolutely flying with some fast starts and some big wins, and even replaced Iversen in one race. Doyle also riding for Torun too, let's hope they bring that form to Belle Vue tomorrow night.
  14. I find it madness teams would run when they have riders missing when they could ride on a Monday then. The main thing this year was there wouldn't be riders missing. It's one thing having them missing for an away meeting but for a home meeting is financial suicide.
  15. Can Kings Lynn ride home meetings on Monday or does the availability of the stadium not allow it?
  16. I find it staggering that this fixture couldn't of been rearranged in the knowledge nearly half the home side were going to be missing. With the fixed race nights, it surely couldn't of been that difficult? It's even more alarming that Kings Lynn have already acknowledged Iversen will be missing again at some point in the season.
  17. Or you could go with my suggestion. Cheap, easy to install and also easy to lay and take up from track. Easy.
  18. Think we should get a point here at least with the Aces weakened with Bjerre for Worrall and it being Drodz's first meeting back, so he could score anything! Wright is scoring well everywhere for us so think we could sneak something.
  19. I've always been led to believe that neither a two minute exclusion or tape offence count assuming they are replaced, as they are both treated the same. They only count if they are not replaced and therefore are a non starter if they don't take part in the race. Maybe somebody else could clarify that. Where's SCB when you need him?!
  20. If they are replaced, it doesn't count towards averages.
  21. It only counts as a ride if he either goes off 15metres or isn't replaced and doesn't take part in the heat and is therefore declared as a 'non starter' which counts as a ride.
  22. Why would they have to be on and off? Natural rain water is great for a race track in a week leading up to a meeting. If the forecast for example is awful for the race day but okay for the actual evening, roll the covers out the night before and take them back up on the afternoon of the race meeting.
  23. I priced it up previously, but I can't for the life of me remember what the figure was now. I based it on Somerset's track and I think the total was somewhere around the £1,000 mark. This was based on a theory of being attached to the top of the existing fence (behind the air fence) in a roll when not being used with ties around it. When it was needed the ties are simply undone and the tarpaulin is rolled out to the infield and fixed to the ground. That way all the rain water runs off to the infield and away from the track.
  24. I'd been a strong campaigner in the past for track covers, so I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one Trees. Easily done with tarpaulin sheets and not at a great cost either when the investment is spread over future years too. If it's going to pee it down after 7 o'clock though, nothing you can do about that and the meeting will be lost anyway but quite often meetings are cancelled due to excessive rain in the days building up to the meeting which could be prevented.
  25. Oh god, don't open up the can of worms that is the difference between "raceable" and "rideable"
