  1. He was very good! Him and Newman were the pick of the lot for Leicester
  2. Well it's been a long old wait, but finally got our first home meeting of the season done and dusted... and very good it was too! Fair to say it had a little bit of everything, the Allen/Newman incidents, including some great races between the two of them, good racing (full marks to the track team for track prep), close scoreline and more importantly a Rebels win. Gets a TEN from LEN!
  3. Perfect weather for it... lovely sunny evening ahead!
  4. A brilliant idea. It'd be much more interesting if they had 2 riders from the home team and 2 riders from the away team. It'd almost create a Top Gear style leaderboard.
  5. Okay, so I must of missed something.... Hot laps?
  6. Fixed race nights was not done to bring all of the GP riders and other foreign riders back, which is why the one rider over 8 rule was brought in. It's the promotors who bought in fixed race nights and not riders. The sole purpose of fixed race nights was to reduce riders missing. Somerset, Rye House and Leicester didn't change their race nights to accommodate Martin Vaculik after all.
  7. It wasn't done for that purpose - that is just an added benefit for clubs that can afford some of those riders you've mentioned. Most clubs have been running at a loss or breaking even at best, so splashing out on GP riders or highly paid foreigners wasn't top of the agenda at the AGM. Its been well rumoured that Wolves chose Thorsell for financial reasons over Lindgren.
  8. I agree with that - nobody is daft enough to think that the gap hasn't got closer between the two leagues than say 15 years ago where there was a massive gulf in class. However, any Premiership team would absolutely blitz the Championship with considerable ease still.
  9. The fixed race nights wasn't brought in to entice the top riders back. It was brought in to reduce fixture clashes and riders missing between the Premiership and Championship.
  10. That's even more of a worry then, as Rohan has never been much of a passer and is reknown for his quick starting. If he isn't making any starts, then he'll be in trouble.
  11. It's a real concern for Rohan Tungate. This is exactly the sort of form he shown for Somerset at the start of last season, even after a really good winter in Australia.
  12. I think it's pretty fair last nights result is hardly a surprise. Leicester were one of the more fancied teams in the league and they were only strengthened by having Lambert and R/R replacing the two injured riders. Somerset's team is very much built to score big and win at home. That's where we failed last year especially at the start of the season. If we score well at home and then pick up the odd point away we won't of done too badly. No need to go into meltdown because we took abit of a hammering last night.
  13. You are such a moron. You clearly said any other club would want him as their promoter. That isn't true as I would more than confident Somerset fans would much rather our current owners than Matt Ford. You just continue to spout utter nonsense.
  14. I'd rather stick with the ones we've got already thanks.
  15. I'd suggest that his opinion that's been aired in hindsight, is somewhat irrelevant then.
  16. Out of interest, is Hans Andersen Leicester's captain?
  17. Looking at your previous posts you have mentioned Josh Auty in nearly all of them it seems, about his sacking from Leicester, why he should of been signed by Kings Lynn and Belle Vue and slating Leicester and Sheffield promoter Bates too.
  18. I thought you were a Sheffield 'supporter' ?
  19. I'm not surprised - I just don't understand.
  20. I don't understand why Poole wouldn't of just said from the get-go Holder has visa issues that need resolving. None of this 'personal problems' nonsense. Speedway fans continue to be treated like idiots by promotors and people in power within the sport in a bid to pull the wool over their eyes. The truth always comes out eventually so why they didn't just say that from the start is baffling.
  21. The forecast shows rain throughout the whole of the night from Tuesday into Wednesday.
  22. That's another big and cheap to do sponsor opportunity for teams - the front fork covers. I think Kings Lynn did it a few years back and gives companies a much more prominent place than just the chest of a racesuit.
  23. They are all near as damn it so doesn't matter in the slightest. That'll be down to rider personal preference. Somerset have had their P+P today and the race jackets look awful. Like something from the mid 90s. Jason Doyle has his race jacket sewn in as part of his suit and doesn't even have the main team sponsor on them.
  24. Somerset's practice has been cancelled today. I'd say that makes Poole favourites for both legs now having already put in plenty of laps at their own track.
  25. Well said that man - one of the best posts I've ever on this forum. Also showing what utter nonsense Starman continues to spout! There were a lot of questions over what Somerset could and couldn't afford over the winter. I'd say you've gone a long way to answering them!
