  1. And that is relevant because? Failure to have a debate is normally down to failing to have any understanding of the points being made. Brady Kurtz doesn't require a work permit either - just another little bit of info for you there James Holder could be a 3.00 average for all I care, he doesn't meet the criteria which Somerset hoped he would when he was signed only to fail in the State Championships - but again, don't let that get in the way of your pointless arguement.
  2. Hardly - our team was confirmed in plenty of good time. If we didn't want him then that's tough luck. We went on to nearly win the league without him so that decision was justified as it turns out. No team is any obligation to have to sign anybody. I really like Alex as a rider, especially around the Oak Tree - but he didn't cut it away from home. The failings lie at Plymouths door here - agreeing to sign an Aussie when they don't even have the relevant license to sign work permit riders. Oh dear.
  3. Precisely that - although like I've said elsewhere I think he was moved along also when it became apparent around Christmas time he didn't get the results he needed in the State Chanpionships leading upto it and had to be dropped as he doesn't meet the requirements for a work permit. Plymouth have decided he does though
  4. The wording says "previous season" - neither Smith or Davies have an average from the previous season, which was 2014.
  5. Proctor qualifies for his work permit by reaching the required average in the EL. Poole average never once reached 7.00 throughout the season and should be told no.
  6. Well that's made 'Doners' look abit silly. Thanks for the info IDH.
  7. Oh look, an Aussie blocked and all of a sudden a British riders gets a job!
  8. He did, so his average is irrelevant in this case.
  9. The question is though does he meet the criteria for a work permit? The answer is yes he does.
  10. Proctor is okay as he achieved over the required 4.00 in the EL last year. Also the page on the BSPA site doesn't say the state championship is only for first years. Therefore Heeps and Douglas are okay too.
  11. http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=78462&page=24 Got no idea how Doyle got round the situation last year, but the difference it seems with Fisher and everyone else is that at least everyone else had applied for theirs only to be told to reapply. Fisher just hadn't bother to apply for one full stop.
  12. Fisher as has been quoted by the Plymouth promotion didn't apply for his visa correctly before he left the country last year - and apparently like Sam Masters, Alex Davies and Mason Campton had to the other year he now won't be able to enter the country for a 12 month 'cooling off period'. Think this was posted on the Plymouth thread or somewhere on here. He's a new application correct - which doesn't meet the criteria.
  13. Didn't stop Paul Starke last year :-)
  14. Alot on that list will be okay, but you've missed off Jack Holder, Kozza Smith, Alex Davies and Ryan Fisher.
  15. Just because Louis says so, doesn't mean he qualifies at all. Workington obviously still felt that Campton qualified hence them appealing the original decision for his work permit to be turned down. They clearly learnt nothing from the whole exercise and as per normal self interest takes over. http://www.speedwaygb.co/gbe This clearly states "current National champion"
  16. Alan Jones has beaten me to it, but he rightly says that it needs to be the previous season.
  17. Effectively yes. There is plenty others than can be named too I expect. Any Aussie that came over on a 5.00 for starters.
  18. Sedgmen also qualifies via the State Championships too. No it doesn't.
  19. I was going to say that the bonus points were removed from averages a while before 2009. So I don't think that's a saving grace either for the relevant riders.
  20. Proctor is okay due to his EL average he gained last year for Wolves. Poole on the other hand, isn't okay and has failed to meet the criteria.
  21. It also doesn't matter how long his previous work permit was for, as Troy Batchelor has previously said he was in the middle of a 2 year visa which got cancelled and he has had to reapply - likewise will Manzares.
  22. Just as I thought - which should technically rule out Smith and Davies then. Rules are rules unfortunately.
  23. As quoted here on the BSPA website: http://www.speedwaygb.co/gbe If it was any season then Matt Wethers would of been okay as im certain he's achieved a 7.00 in the past - just not last season and that's why he's been shown the door it seems.
  24. Surely your questions 1 and 2 are answered by reading this on a Speedway forum
  25. That means nothing. Workington sent the Campton issue to appeal with the BSPA before being told no for a second time. Just goes to show how little some teams have learned as they are still prepared to ignore the rules and criteria set for self interest. Manzares is no different to Campton if as someone mentioned earlier in this thread he failed to finish top 4 in his qualifying meetings back home this winter.
