  1. No, that’s because most promotors/team owners aren’t sensible
  2. His average is too high for the championship anyway
  3. Include the pre season tournament in the Championship then seems the most sensible solution to that.
  4. If anything, I would be expecting Rew average to rise dramatically - I really rate him and think he has the potential to score big at some tracks! ….and all the master plan to lower averages to sign Batchelor, only for him to drop his average too. Please!
  5. Correct - the same as Artem Laguta and by the same token the reason why the likes of Tarasenko at present can’t get a Polish license.
  6. What is the purpose of reducing the number of meetings? You are either saving 10 match, 20 matches or somewhere in between is a true reflection of form and preventing average manipulation - all this chopping and changing just complicates something that doesn’t need to be. There is a maximum of 24 matches this season so 20 matches, almost a full season, seems ample to me.
  7. Remember being in Poole and went to watch when Peterborough visited - Must of been one of his first matches and he was absolute dynamite!
  8. Why talk in riddles? Nobody cares about the “I know more than you do” line… spill the beans or don’t say anything….
  9. Somebodies potential has nothing to do with whether they are a better rider or not. It might make them a more attractive proposition and signing but potential means nothing until he has been fulfilled. As it stands, Flint is better than Cook based off their Championship averages. Flint had a higher Home, Away and unsurprisingly overall average too.
  10. ….before he was given the boot because to be honest, he isn’t that good!
  11. Good signing in Basso and great news about the sponsorship. I never understand the secrecy of treating fans like idiots though where “sorry about lack of information but lots is happening” tell them then!! I don’t understand why speedway promotions always take this approach to matters. You don’t get it in football where it’s a huge secret. Let the fans know what’s going on!
  12. He still riding - probably pick himself as the first name on the team sheet!
  13. He had a serious injury this year but was still well up there with being the best in Poland at times. If you think that Niels K Iversen is even anywhere near Holder or Pedersen’s standard then you’re delusional or misinformed.
  14. According to the speedway star, he was approached by the consortium of guys trying to bring Somerset back in August. Apparently he has been approached by a former promoter within the last couple of months - although it makes reference to Greg Daniels’ business plan in the article so you assume he is the one taking the lead with it.
  15. Further statement out today on Facebook saying the new promotion have taken over the old website so that the history can be continued, as well as then distancing themselves from the old owners. Also, there is an interesting article in the speedway star!
  16. Now it might never come to anything, but the Facebook post very much said it would not be a sole purpose speedway arena and could be used for a number of events. There are a couple of sites on the agenda so a certain amount of homework has gone into it and to see how viable that is. The previous promotion of the speedway club were absolutely fantastic… until the final year or so and then into covid. A really sad and very abrupt end with various excuses given at the time other than “we had an offer we couldn’t refuse”
  17. Ever the optimist. Your comment has been really informative and helpful to the discussion
  18. Non starter - the clubhouse next to the track was sold off to a local fuel company for offices and the car parking and surrounding area is now covered with huge industrial units. I haven’t been to see myself but I was told the old track had been dug up too.
  19. I’m not completely sold on the name idea but frankly they could be called just about anything as long as it’s local and in Somerset.
  20. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid0Tp72XcA47sAtXWEBGynypfZ39fudPnRUQk9Bd5DfgZ82iSfXVcPdgLviudMmRfGKl&id=100000674626434 Looks like being very early doors but this is positive news never the less. Speedway hopefully returning to Somerset and 15 minutes or so up the road from the old track. Let’s keep our fingers crossed!
  21. Interesting that the wording has now been changed on the British Speedway site - but it still says he’s leaving ALL Polish Leagues .
  22. Unless rules have changed, it always used to be a condition of entry for Polish riders unless they were on a ACU license. We’ll see.
  23. Where do you think they get the info from?
  24. Article out elsewhere completely contradicting the Glasgow statement that Nowak will be giving up Poland - in fact, quite the opposite! With the reduced fixtures in England, you’d hope fixtures could be arranged so they don’t clash with Poland but Division 2 often ride Saturday mornings.
