It just shows what a shame it is with Pedersen doing the U-turn with Peterborough. Anybody who said he was finished was absolutely wrong.
-
Anyone who thinks Kildemand is the answer is completely wrong.
-
Kasprzak in the Polish press saying that his slow and poor start to the season has been influenced by the cold weather - better start hoping a heatwave is on the way!
-
It may of been mentioned and then ignored until there was a crash and the white line then moved - that may have something to do with Pedersen taking his toys home and not playing anymore.
-
I think there is more to it than he crashed and thought that is enough. It’s well rumoured he wasn’t happy with track prep at that meeting which then resulted in the white line being moved. Maybe he has thought he isn’t riding on sub standard tracks every week - which I called on the night of that meeting. Allegedly his bikes are already out of the country and back in Europe… So expect a guest or RR as he is then deemed to be withholding his services and a 28 day facility granted.
-
Basically, teams abused the rules that were set as they were expecting alot more riders to be missing with covid. ‘Guest riders’ were only allowed to ride for one side and once they had signed up, they couldn’t ride for anybody else. The Poles quickly realised it was a stupid system, the fans hated it and it was dropped after a single year. The only ‘guests’ they still have now is Polish juniors in Division 2 to enhance their own talent and juniors - something similar to another poster suggested earlier in the thread when reserves are missing over here.

I’m not sure it’s Grudziadz who are pulling the strings here - I think the rider himself may of seen enough on opening night to do half a lap and call it quits!

Good Friday 7.4.23 - Scunny vs Redcar
Najjer replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
What an awful poster this is. It’s 2023 and people are still running with the “no brakes no fear, fun for all the family” line. Why not go the whole hog and advertise the opening match of the season with two guests too? -
Given how he’s started the season, he would struggle in the championship at the moment. Early days though….
-
Poland also use rider replacement for when any of their top 3 averaged riders are missing where anybody can then take a RR ride.
-
He rode in a Pairs match on Sunday and didn’t get on much better there either. He’s also had a match at Bydgoszcz but both Bydgoszcz and Rzeszow are somewhat polar opposites to Mommore Green so don’t think they would have had much bearing. No reason to be alarmed just yet. Wolves are the type of team who will do well at home and get battered away against most sides. Kings Lynn’s real test comes around their own track, as Wolves is abit of an obscure one.
-
Not wrong at all - Hence why I said one of the reasons, so he can pick and choose meetings.
-
I managed to get Kasprzak under 5 at 9/5 Also on Masters over Klindt and Iversen under 8 in the PC meeting
-
It’s not fair but it’s the luck of the draw when you have an injured rider. This then encourages the team to go and sign a replacement or stick with R/R until the injured rider is back - but doesn’t include borrowing riders from other teams and keeps some form of team identity. The guest system has been a joke for a long time. I remember back in 2008 when Simon Walker was injured for my team (Somerset) who was on a 6.50 average after it being inflated due to a large home average. People were disappointed when he came back from injury after we had Craig Watson and other riders well above his ability guesting in place of him. Should never of been allowed really.
-
The sad thing is, it’s probably one of the reasons he doesn’t ride for anybody else. He can just pick and choose his matches on a nice suitable average to guest for just about anybody in the league - showing what a farce the system is.
-
Start at 7:15 with the practice and then first race scheduled for 7:30 - that’s that issue solved.
-
Well that’s short sighted - as by that own admission it’ll work in their favour when they visit an away track.
-
Ridiculous. Opening meeting of the season and already being covered by guests. Everybody should be forced to use R/R for missing riders unless there is more than one rider missing. Guests are one of the biggest banes of British Speedway.
-
It’s not a great look is it? KK’s and Klindt’s look fantastic but the rest not so much…
-
All too often in British Speedway, you hear reports of tracks not being up to scratch at the beginning of a meeting and riders unhappy with conditions - whether this be poor prep, weather conditions or any other factors. I notice from today’s match at Redcar, riders were given a chance to spend 1 minute out of track according to speedway updates. Before the start of every league match in Poland, every team can nominate 2 riders to go out on track to check out track conditions etc. Why are we not doing this over here? This can help to eliminate a whole host of potential issues on the horizon (like Peterborough the last week with heat 1 and riders not being happy with the exit to turn 2) and give riders a chance to get on track before heat 1. This adds abit of a tactical element too - do you send out your experienced guys to pass on knowledge or send out a junior to get some much needed track time before their first ride? There is no shame in following in the Poles footsteps if it helps to solve problems and benefits the beginning of meetings. How often do we see matches where the first 4 heats are follow the leader around the inside until the track starts to bed in and dirt moves wider? This one seems abit of a non brainer to me and can only be a good thing.

Didn’t Kasprzak get a testimonial a few years back?
-
What’s the odds on Pedersen doing the same?

Belle Vue -8 Doyle -1 over Pedersen Bewley -1 over Musielak
