Precisely this - I’ve asked this many times but why is it the case nowadays that as soon as a rider is missing they are replaced with a guest? That never used to be the case and shouldn’t be now. It used to only be a guest for your no.1 and if you had two riders missing. The same applies to Luke Becker and Wolves with regards Scott Nicholls. All this borrowing riders from other teams makes the sport look an absolute joke. Likewise Scunthorpe shouldn’t have a whole pick of guests for the reserve berth. They should be made to pick National League only riders or sign somebody. It has just become an absolute farce.

Ipswich v Belle Vue 13th April
Najjer replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It’s what cost him his job at Somerset when he had a meltdown because he was due to be replaced by Jason Doyle as a tac sub - a move which then also cost us winning the league… Not that I’m bitter after all these years and seen my team close down. -
Leicester vs Ippo KoC QF 2nd Leg 17/04/23
Najjer replied to IainB's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
On a side note - why is there no tac sub allowed in the KOC? Not sure what purpose it serves especially now the aggregate bonus point is back in the league. -
Jakobsen -2 over Ellis tomorrow morning has to be great value at 6/5?
-
Ipswich -2 leciester -8 KK under 5… has to be worth a shot at 2/1! Brennan under 7

It’s not a rule as such and was an agreement put in place to get Poland to up the number of leagues they would allow their riders to ride in, to allow them to ride in England again. Therefore I’m assuming it will effect all 3 divisions in Poland.
-
I also think the BSN have done a good job reporting on it and making abit of a story about that. You get nothing of the sorts from the BSPL site and the speedway star.
-
What coming together?
-
Poland - GB gave up their Thursday priority for rearranged matches as part of a deal to allow more riders from the Polish leagues to ride over here.
-
Precisely the reason I’ve said many times that guests shouldn’t be allowed unless there is 2 or more riders missing. Wolves should either have to sign somebody or use RR

If you believe Grudziadz have put a stop to Pedersen riding here, then I think you are very mistaken on this one. —————— Good to see Peterborough finally make a statement - but begs the question why it’s taken over a week to confirm what most already knew. What an absolute PR disaster - at a time when they say they need support more than ever. They have recognised their shortcomings in communication but I’d bet they do little to nothing to actually combat that in the next few months.
-
Why is Nicholls not riding?
-
Do you really think he’s been bullied into it? If Grudziadz didn’t want him to ride in the UK then he wouldn’t have even started over here.

Masters over 10 Wolves -6 Douglas over Wright is a tempter too
-
Zagar doesn’t have one.

Such an enigma. Wobbled round for a few rides before winning his last programmed ride from absolutely nowhere at a canter… before running stone last again in heat 14. He’s a very complicated rider/person, that’s for sure but there is still potential there to be half decent.
-
He also scored 11 points (including an exclusion for two warnings in his last ride) in Poland today. Ryan Douglas top scored for the same Rawicz team with a 5 ride maximum too.

Hoping to be back by end of April but that seems a little ambitious. Already been ruled out of Ostrow’s next two matches

Yes there would be a ban - Nicki would be deemed to be withholding his services and get a 28 day ban along with a 28 day facility granted to Peterborough. With regards your second point, this is what pi$$es me off so much with British speedway promotions. Everybody is well aware Nicki has left yet you hear nothing from the club who treat their supporters like muppets. Almost straight away they should have come out and said “Nicki has left and we are working on our options” instead of the silent treatment which makes the whole situation worse. It will be embarrassing tomorrow and have such a worse effect when he isn’t there, especially after banging in 18 points last night in Poland. I try not to compare football to speedway but there is no way this sort of situation goes on. You only have to look at the recent scenarios with Chelsea, Spurs and Leicester with their managers. All 3 confirmed a departure right away and said they would be working on replacements and will update in due course. Communication with your fan base is so important nowadays.
