I was joking, spent 9 years working in the sport mostly at Eastbourne so I know what happens. Your first post though, I thought you meant that Eastbourne have previous for go fund pages to make money from fans, when they only did from 1 former promoter..

You jest, the likes of Bob Dugard, Jon Cook pulling stunts? never.....

No, Ian Jordan had form for this not Eastbourne Speedway.

The future of British Speedway after the 2023 season
M.D replied to TTT's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The sport in this country is clearly in a very poor place. We are seeing so many tracks/business close down not only over the last few years but for many years before this. The only way this sport in the UK won't go into a semi pro state permanently and in my opinion spiral into oblivion is to reset now and start to grow. A new independent governing body (away from club owners and the BSPL) is needed to set up a blueprint for the future of the sport in this country. This may start with a small pro top league and then a second semi pro league. We have a lot of good guys involved in running the sport but I feel now is the time for them to work together working on how to improve the presentation of the sport to the public, we need people involved who are in place to evolve the sport in this country and not just their own club or business. Phil Morris is a good start but It does concern me he won't have the power to start this up because he has the vision. -
Phil is the right person for the job, given the tools and power to change things but it won't be overnight. A good appointment that will need some time and slack to change things.

If that is the case then the rider should get a 28 day ban across the UK.

If and it's a big IF as we don't know, that is shocking and robbing the paying supporters and mugging off the Belle Vue management.

The future of British Speedway after the 2023 season
M.D replied to TTT's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The biggest issue if the UK goes for 1 league next season or a 2 way northern and southern league split is. The UK has protected race days in world speedway, Monday and Thursday. If we run with a different set up without a league that runs on those days then we loose that right for protective racing on those dates and then Poland can recall any rider they want or race on a Monday and Thursday. We would loose our right as a major power in world speedway and become a second rate nation with no right over a power like Poland. I maybe wrong but thats my take on it, shoot me down.. -

I would have thought Eastbourne Eagles would get a mention but I take your point.. -
You've got to feel for Wolves fans, management and UK speedway. My club Eastbourne is currently gone with the only hope to find an area to build a new stadium/track to race in.. The sport and many clubs are finding really hard times for various reasons, the only hope I have is the sport is so on its knees that we may see a massive reset.. We all live in hope because fundamentally it could be a good product.
-
Its not about tracks holding Nora events, its about a potential breakaway league..
-
Its a sad day again, from that statement looks like there is little hope for the sport in Peterborough
-
Well said, he was dedicated to Eastbourne on and off the track, won his first world title riding for the club but its by far a different league now..

TTT ?

KK is a self centred knob, thats what I found out at Lakeside and he was at the top of his game then.
