  1. Sad for this year of course but as said in the original press release, Eric & Margaret Dugard are keen to see speedway return to the venue..
  2. Yes it is showing as active still and no it wont have any effect other than the bad feeling left over
  3. I have no idea, we have tried to find out but that came to nothing
  4. As far as im aware nothing has been paid back to anybody and the Company that Ian Jordan ownes (Eastbourne Eagles Ltd) is still active Sadley, Les fineing passed away last week, a great supporter of the club and a fine man
  5. This is a major problem and one of the reasons Eastbourne are taking a year out with having to join the league so late and with no rider assets. The only way round this I feel is to make just 2 leagues next season with a few of the Championship clubs moving up to the top league and a few of the third tier teams moving up to the Championship. A watered down championship with some form of control over top end strength at that level. But, and it's a big but, will fans and clubs want this? Also the riders won't want this as this will limit doubling up and they won't want that as earnings will drop for them making it unfeasible for them to ride financially. Its a very difficult situation we have for the next few years but one that needs to be addressed if we are to move forward in the UK
  6. Yeah your right, it is Colin, my bad
  7. But by Definition that is a form of rider control, a team cant sign every rider thay want.. Im not advocating that riders should be placed by a governing body to teams but with a 'Team strength control' of heat leaders would be a good move for the league in 2023.
  8. But isn't having a points limit per team a form of 'rider control' already?
  9. IF the leagues stay the same in 2023 but with the likely addition of Eastbourne then there will need to be some form of control to spread the top end riders about, maybe a points limit for the top 3 built into the overall team limit
  10. Also take into account Birmingham have some sort of asset base but Eastbourne have nothing left having had it all taken back by the BSPL which would have made things even more difficult..
  11. Real shame to see the lad go but good luck to him, he's a fine prospect..
  12. Highly regarded at Eastbourne too, a local lad and another lost asset we would have kept
  13. just wanted to say that Tom's Mum Sarah passed away this morning.. All at Eastbourne Speedway are at a loss and we are thinking of Tom and the family RIP Sarah x 1 gazzac reacted to this
  14. I just wanted to say that Tom's Mum Sarah passed away this morning.. All at Eastbourne Speedway are at a loss and we are thinking of Tom and the family RIP Sarah x
  15. well said, I do hope that this post hasn't put people off supporting the club next season.. It should be either renamed or deleted IMHO
  16. Your thinking of the ARC group who own Birmingham, Newcastle and Sittingbourne, different landlords at Poole...
  17. If you include both the KOC meetings and league matches, Kyle posted figures including BP of 7.10 for Eastie or 5.80 without his bonus points.. Thats more of a form guide..
  18. I should have just said Kyle is not at Birmingham
  19. You would only take on the previous companies liabilities if you was buying the company itself with the intention of continuing that company. In this case, a new company has bought a companies assets and will trade as a brand new company.
