  1. Totally agree with your post. If he doesn't want to ride in the UK - he doesn't have to ride in the UK and no amount of posturing by some so called "fans" will make him change his mind. He has made the right decision for him and his family and I respect that and wish him all the success he deserves.
  2. Flagrag works for sky I think - at least that's how he comes across
  3. Bjerre would be more than justified in giving them the two finger salute.
  4. BV - the way they do business?? They have been at the bottom end of the table for most of the last 10 years and are only getting a resurgence (temporary until the novelty wears off?) because of the new stadium. The problem appears to be that the other teams don't have the resources (i.e money) to compete and when they do try they either end up in the PL (Ipswich) or out of business (Brmingham) or the NL (Eastbourne and Birmingham) - even Swindon had to be bailed out a few years ago! So I am NOT agreeing with you and the league will only get smaller and smaller until Poole will be champions of Poole! Poole's business model is good for Poole but sadly not for the rest of the league.
  5. You need to see the bigger picture and I don't think it's jealousy. Poole are a successful club - of that there is no doubt. However, crowds are going down all over the country and the "I'm alright Jack" attitude will only work as long as there are still clubs in existence to compete against. There is a question mark over Coventry, Lakeside seem to have resolved whatever issues they had over the winter and Swindon need to get the new stadium built before people move into the houses in the pits. The trouble is crowds have gone down significantly everywhere (except Poole and BV), so if any clubs fold, who are Poole going to race against? The BSPA need to come up with a plan (better than the last one which diluted the league year on year and drove the crowds away) that will re-energise the sport and they have shown that they do not have the skills to do it - so unless they solve this speedway will continue to die on its @rse and Poole fans will still be saying "Aren't we the greatest" when in fact all they are is the best of a bad lot! You are a caring soul - aren't you!
  6. You are of course entitled to your opinion but on a 6+ average he certainly isn't a terrible rider. He isn't the rider he once was but is still capable of scoring points - once he gets his head clear.
  7. Sometimes in life you have to make sacrifices to achieve your goals. To be the best in the world, Woffy is sacrificing the EL (his last season in 2014 shows how much he was struggling here) and I think that is the right thing for him. Shame we can't see him here on a regular basis and will only see him in the SGPs and SWC (if you have BT Sport) but I can live with that to see him representing GB at the highest level.
  8. Common sense prevails re: Robbo. No problem with Bates covering for Newman.
  9. Surely the rules insist that there are 2 FTRs in the team - whether they are riding at heat leader or not??
  10. Seems like the FTR rules have changed too? You don't need to be on the list!
  11. Wow - so Poole really do have 4 HLs (3 of which were/are recent #1s), a great second string (BKR) and two of the best reserves in the EL. Just give them the trophy now!
  12. I think he was just touchy about the previous reply.
  13. So Paul Starke moves up to #2 position in the team, scores 1 point and gets replaced for his last ride by the rider who swapped places with him. How is that helping him progress? At least he didn't go straight to a HL spot!
  14. Ever thought of a job in management? A bit of compassion, empathy and understanding wouldn't go amiss!
  15. Eh? There is no way Richie Worrall would have scored what they got from RR. The problem in the rules is in the FTR department!
  16. In the first 5 heats - this is the Swindon team I expected to see this year - not the poor imitation we have these last few meetings. Still time for it to go Pete Tong but at least they have started riding to their potential!
  17. So you are embarrassed that you are fine with him not wanting to ride in the UK - you'll get over it! I think you will find that the majority support him no matter what is posted on social media - if you don't believe me - wait until Cardiff! There is no 'supposedly' about - he IS British and its your prerogative who you support but a 2x World Champion in a longer series of SGPs suggests he is someone special as a speedway rider - whether you like him or not!
  18. For the record Scotland is part of GB but I understand your analogy!
