  1. absolutely spot on! * Owlerton is in the suburb of HILLSBOROUGH,since that tragedy both stadiums (on the same road) have been made to stick to ALL H&S aspects to the letter of the law,no room for manouvre or they're shut down! (other stadiums would not be able to function if they were in sheffield, it's a price both clubs have had to pay to this day and won't ever change. * the volunteer track workers do NOT have degrees in 'air fence engineering' they are unpaid ,hard working volunteers who do it to keep their club running * ruts in the track due to stock cars (who share the stadium with greyhounds also), the volunteers get about 6 hours a week to do all the prep work (usually wed. night) .speedway does not own the stadium and are probably last in the pecking order * housing estates are up the hill on the back straight *it was a complete one-off ... never seen curfew at owlerton before (what a time to choose)!
  2. this is a great 'angle' (re promotion of the sport). Nigel promoted the sport in many different ways through his media work as well as helping out at many tracks ( centre green mic man ,program columns etc) , all this (i imagine) would have been 'for the love of the sport' (rather than paid) and at the 'expense' of time with his family. his loss will be felt more than we (on the outside) know. RIP Nige .

  4. wasn't it a 'post stock car' prepared track ???? may have something to do with it
  5. not had a drop of rain 12 miles south of the track
  6. dunno whether anyone else has been confirmed but Troy Batchelor to sheffield is a done deal
  7. Agree,but he isn’t so ..it isn’t !
  8. it'll be another Panorama room type building , doubt they'd open it for a normal speedway meeting (maybe just major events)
  9. I think 5 out of 7 will improve their averages ,the other 2 will probably maintain theirs ,all in all that’s a potential packed team!
  10. reduced to 4 (due to reduction in team total average) ,all young brits on a 2 (reduced from last seasons 3 )
  11. Scott Nichols is signing for somebody tomorrow,so it’s not him at no.1 ,also Broc Nicole on a 4 has got to be a must ?
  12. he is NOT one of those 2 signings although he will be there that night (is how i understand it)
  13. kasper andersen has signed for a polish team and it's already been stated that josh bates will be riding elsewhere
  14. obviously broc nicol has been signed for the future rather than tonight (fully behind that logic),therefore his score will be about on a par with graversens would have been (as will woods with smiths),therefore the weakness is still there ..... glasgow to win tonight
  15. i think it's safe to say howarth (8.62) and wood (2.31) are also pencilled in leaving 6.73 (plus the little extra discount for the british riders) to play with
  16. Could've had a change of direction seeing as nicholls can now ride in this league Doesn't fit points wise
  17. Nicholls Bates Howarth Greaves Bjerre Wood Smith ?????????
  18. How about Howarth Bates Bjerre Ryan Douglas Charles wright Jack smith George wood 41.95
