  1. We are talking about a meeting taking place in MARCH & not June/July/August. The weather had not been kind Friday & Saturday & Redcar have only had practice meetings during the winter. Sods law it is difficult to prepare meetings in March & also October!!
  2. It is nice to see some of our riders competing in pre-season meetings to brush off the cobwebs, get match sharp & iron out any problems with using new gear. It is an area I have thought over many years that our riders do not do enough of. Also, hopefully, more beneficial is that most of our riders are doubling up with Premiership rides but that also brings the risk of injury with more meetings. Joe T is even doing all 3 leagues.
  3. It is the final week of fixtures for the Rugby Union 6 Nations & any one of the top 2 can win the title. This includes the use of BONUS POINTS for scoring at least 4 Tries or by losing by 7 points or less! It works in Rugby & has worked well in Speedway for a while now so "if it not broke, don't fix it" but the voices of the more technical tracks had their say & brought back the aggregate bonus point going back around 10 years yet people post that we have to move forward to improve our sport(social media-not every one has it), streaming(not everyone can afford it in these present times) & yet we have a new boss to oversee the Premiership which most people are pleased about & not before time. Rant Over!!!!!!
  4. They still need to beat opposition reserves & 2nd strings. Is 7-10 points good enough from 7 rides?
  5. http://championproducts.info/tpbs Do some homework.
  6. If ever you have watched Formula E over the years(C4 or C5), these cars have evolved internally as the bodywork for all cars is the same. When the sport 1st came on to the scene, each race lasted 45 minutes plus 1 lap & the drivers had to jump into a 2nd car half way into the race because the batteries would not last, even though they partly recharged the batteries through coasting & braking. A few years ago, the batteries became more powerful to last a full race. This year, the cars are more powerful than before with races lasting a number of laps(depending on track length) but still lasting approximately 45 minutes plus extra laps through loss of laps because of incidents(full course yellow). The racing is very close & is held on street circuits. London held some in Hyde Park & Germany on a car park, if my memory is correct. I see no reason why the batteries for the bikes cannot be more powerful as, as well as speedway, the clips/facebook page shows moto bikes & others. There has been electric bike racing at the Isle Of Man TT races these last few years.
  7. He raced having been injured in the SON & had personal problems also. A good rider on a 4 average.
  8. Sounds ok to me & about time BUT they will still be on track, facing the direction of travel so "being required to return to the start line within one minute" will still mean another 45+ seconds of gardening & starting position when they get there instead of "ready to race".
  9. After looking at the track calendar , rather than the fixture list as the track is used almost every weekend during the winter, I would take a guess for Friday 31st March.
  10. Why would you replace any rider, never mind Roynon, who puts 1.5 on his average in 2 1/2 months?
  11. Similar circumstances to Jordan Palin, another young, upcoming rider, who is having to take a year out due to a head injury(bleed on the brain)
  12. There is a supporter who went out of his way to source polo shirts(£10) & hoodies(£15) with a Scunthorpe Scorpions emblem on the front. I mentioned it on here on a meeting towards the end of the season. We can be found in & in front of the 4th bend stand.
  13. I am pretty sure shimmy will voice his opinions later.
  14. The report in this weeks SS says that fans were approached for what they wanted to see next year. Who are these fans? When were they approached? I, & many others have never been approached for our views whether at the turnstiles, around the stadium or in the clubhouse. I agree with eric, & many others would too, that the PA system needs looking at whether more/bigger speakers, better microphones or sponge top covers or being taught how to use them properly as it seems, by ear, that the announcer talks in to the microphone then talks away probably when reading info. Possibly employing a DJ for minimal cost will improve this situation & an improvement in music before a meeting, promoting/announcing what is going on, team news, basic rules, etc between heats giving a better atmosphere(MX can do it at Sheffield, Manchester, Birmingham but these are indoor arenas). The scoreboard issue, from memory, was down to man/women power in the referee's box due to reduced numbers(personnel & covid restrictions).
  15. Danny Ford has said that the 42 point limit brought in for 2022 was a 2 year plan(Ha! - promoters change again) & his intention was to keep all 3 Heat Leaders. Only when the later gatherings at Rugby was this changed & he had to let one of them go.
  16. Not if the 4 or 5 of you Poole supporters do it like I told you last year.
  17. I posted after reading just page 1 & just seen page 2 including Gambo's post so ignore my post above. Note, still angry as to why this system was used this year & to next years change to aggregate bonus point.(If it is not broken, don't fix it)
  18. So, reading between the lines, are ALL meetings taken in to account now as all league meeting must be raced by end of August? June 18 meetings, July 16 meetings, August 14 meetings, (from 1st) September 12 meetings, October 10 meetings includes any league meetings not raced before the end of August !!! Why keep chopping & changing these average rules? We should go back to 20, or possibly16 as arnieg says BUT include all meetings to avoid manipulation as most on here are saying goes on(Lawson on CL average BELOW 8 proves the point)
  19. I would think other clubs could have a similar situation with regionalized competitions & KOC draw not taking in to account end of season play offs.
  20. I have just seen our published fixture list where we have the potential to have 3 Friday meetings EVERY month depending on how we progress in the KOC & BSN series. The 4th Friday is taken by visiting a fellow Friday night club.
  21. I had only looked at the Poole thread at that time & have not been to our website yet, which I will now do.
  22. I think he is alluding to the fact that Glasgow can & have raced on a Sunday meaning the "tour" could have been Friday 4th August to Sunday 6th August inclusive.
