  1. Saturday night's track would have held up. Plenty of shale, well watered which made it a little too heavy for the inexperienced riders but they soon got used to it. It was definitely the best track of the three matches even though Len was moaning to Warren about it before the start. I was amazed on Monday to see the lack of shale that had been there on Saturday although told that none had been taken off.
  2. Kasper scored 7+3 from 6 for Holsted last night so his knee brace seems to be doing the trick.
  3. You can only use that in a limited number of heats cant you?
  4. Things are looking up with the Rockets unbeaten at home last night.
  5. So how many laps should the 14 rider races be, and how many heats?
  6. For average calculation, tactical rides count as normal 3,2,1 points, not 6,4,2.
  7. The story in today's Speedway Star quotes Rathbone as having spoken to MPT about a contract extension, which he would be be happy to accept, but it's just one of several options being considered.
  8. @TigersSpeedway: We're sad to report however that David Bellego is likely to be out for six weeks with a hip injury.
  9. The two lowest average riders are at 6 & 7 as in the PL.
  10. How do they play that? Is there a rule book I can download?
  11. No TV so live or radio with the odd computer stream. Just come back from 3 days at the ELMS/WEC meeting at Silverstone so had no interest in the Chinese GP but usually listen to all the practice & qualifying sessions and races but only usually watch the 5 minute highlight edits. Follow all forms of GT & Prototype racing via the excellent coverage by Radio Le Mans. Warren Scott's involvement at Rye House has rekindled my interest in the BTCC & I'll probably take in a couple of rounds this year. Plan to get to more grass track meetings this year as well. Currently listening to TMS from Antigua and will be able to follow the NFL closer in future than I have in recent years.
  12. That's some trick from over 200 miles away.
  13. Interesting tweet from peter Oakes; @oakes_pe: SCB suspend Castleford chairman Pete Hibberd who defends himself against complaints from 3 riders in this week's @speedwaystarmag
  14. Just when the promotion showed their incompetence. Interesting...
  15. I'm going to see the Rockets and I'm forced to watch Peterborough. That's scandalous.
  16. The first part of your statement isn't true. Riders are welcome to drink as much as they like as long as they don't turn up to race under the influence. The fact that some riders are in favour of total abstinence is down to personal choice. Ever since my first motor sport hero, Dan Gurney, started the fashion for spraying champagne at Le Mans in 1967 it's been about the show biz and not the alcohol.
  17. Redcar is now off so I'm sure a couple of phones are ringing...
  18. No idea, but I thought the Rye House bloke was very good...
  19. 2014 Youth Championship Round 6 @ Redcar https://www.flickr.com/photos/aej50/sets/72157649391449333/ ...and in the 'not speedway but' category, today's FIA WEC media day @ Marble Arch https://www.flickr.com/photos/aej50/sets/72157649380473104/
