  1. No, he's planning a practice next weekend & could be back for Sheffield at the end of the month.
  2. According to HoBS; Charlton - A midget car meeting was held at The Valley in 1948. Cheltenham - Not mentioned. Worksop - Not mentioned. Romford - Nothing mentioned before 1969. Braintree - Nothing before the 1982 Towerlands tests. Brighton - Only Hove Stadium in 1928 & the much later Brighton Centre. Stainforth - Only Station Road Stadium in 1930. Nottingham - The reintroduction of speedway to Long Eaton Stadium in 1949 was refused a licence with a different promotion successful in 1950. Stepps - Refused a licence at the Trotting Stadium in 1948 & 1949. Midget cars tested in 1952 & ran in 1953 while speedway was again turned down. Kings Lynn - Only mention before 1965 is of a few meetings on a grass & sand track at the stadium in 1952/3. More local knowledge may bring up results under different names.
  3. He's in the NL as a Commonwealth rider with patriality, hence his starting average of 5 and not the 3 that British riders start on. The 5 point PL average is a strange one as there is nothing in the regs other than NL riders going into the PL on an assessed 3 point average.
  4. The regulations expressly forbid teams agreeing to waive the rules regarding rider line ups, putting the onus on the referee to see that it doesn't happen. it seems strange that there's no means of redress when all three parties unwittingly collude in the breaking of that rule.
  5. Gerhard's plan is to produce a competitive engine that needs a lot less servicing. Once they're on sale that doesn't stop tuners convincing their riders that they still need to throw lots of cash at them.
  6. If he's in the country with a visa then I'd expect EL Declaration Issue 17 to be out today (Friday) with Ward in the team effective Monday.
  7. His specialists have told him at least 3 weeks, he's aiming for Glasgow at home on Saturday week.
  8. It's 6 to 9.30 which includes the pre-meeting warm-up.
  9. King's Lynn Friday, Mildenhall Sunday, Kent Monday & another possible match not yet confirmed. Mark Frimott Pedersen(20) from Esbjerg, Peter Karger(21) from Vojens, Jakob Bukhave(21) from Munkebo, Emil Engstrom(19) from Esbjerg, Simon Selch(19) from Slangerup, Patrick Bjerregaard(23) from Vojens & Jason Jorgensen(17) from Vissenberg. Info from Speedway Star.
  10. There's nothing in the rules that says an NL rider can't guest in a non-"No Facility" situation. I take that to mean that they are just 'a guest' using their converted average. It's another grey are to add to the ever expanding list though... The long-standing unwritten* agreement with SVEMO of a facility for Swedes riding in Swedish meetings. * "Unwritten" in that it's not included in the BSPA/SCB rule book but probably exists in the archives of both FMNs.
  11. Because the BSPA/MC/individual promoters/team managers don't know the rules, as we've seen on many occasions. A lot of people, including myself, missed the fact that this rule had been subtly changed, presumably to stop riders dropping their EL average in the early part of the season to be able to drop down/double up. Now they'll have to decide whether they want to do it way ahead of time with all the consequences that that could bring.
  12. Riders can join the league on their qualifying birthday.
  13. He won't be secret and may not still be a 3 by then. He has his first meeting for Birmingham tonight. You'll have to wait until 2019 for Nathan.
  14. They already have approval for Friday nights only between 18:00 and 21:30. I agree with your comment on Len. He seems to be trying to sabotage NL racing at Rye House as well.
  15. To leave time to run the Gold Cup competition.
  16. Ollie Greenwood is currently riding in the STR amateur meeting at Rye House.
  17. There is no choice, Wood is fixed at reserve for the month. "Equal" averages are decided by going to the 3rd decimal place. If that doesn't separate them then the previous order applies unless riders don't have a previous average, in which case positions are nominated.
