To quote the website; "SITRA will be working with Sittingbourne Speedway Ltd over the winter of 2014 into spring 2015 to enhance the facilities at the venue and, in conjunction with the ACU, are bringing the track up to FIM standards for not only Solos but also 500cc sidecars and 1000cc Right Hand sidecars making SITRA a club that can support all categories of motorcycle sports." So I would say no.

It's not a joke, it's a fact. Well worth repeating.

The MDL, NJL & training schools as always.

Rye House Raiders - I'd say better than 50/50, despite you reservations. Redcar Cubs - Brian Havelock's making the right noises.

Ward is such a major figure in the GPs that there was no mention of him in the PRs for the Aussie GP, Monster's sponsorship renewal or the wild card announcement.

... and probably Rye House.

Rye House V Scunthorpe 13/9
Alan_Jones replied to cityrebel's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Here's the PR. Rye House No.1 Edward Kennett was named as the clubs rider of the year in the centre green awards presentation that followed the Silver Ski Rockets victory over Scunthorpe. His Mr Rocket accolade was unsurprising, given his big hitting and consistency throughout the teams difficult campaign. Kennetts paid points total for the year now stands at 398, with the teams remaining fixture at Peterborough today (Sunday) still to be added in. Kennett also received the Sampford Trophy from team manager John Sampford. The trophy is awarded annually in memory of Sampfords parents to the rider judged the most exciting of the year. The Rye House captain looked back on the season afterwards when taking the mike to address the crowd. First of all, I think back to the beginning of March when we went to Peterborough and got a win, and I was like, Wow, weve got a team, but it came apart from there. But tonight proved (what we can do) we were all on form, and its just a shame it hasnt happened all year. It has been a tough year - Im not going to lie and I feel for Len (Silver), and I feel for you guys, because each week youve come to see us get beaten at home and away. But we all give 110%, and its just that sometimes it doesnt work out. I want to say thank you to you guys that have been here every week - without your support, we wouldnt be here and to Len for preparing a smooth track, and everyone else behind the scenes. I would love to come back to Rye House next year if Len has me back. I hope to see you all again in 2015. -

I doubt that we'll ever see it again. The NLRC has already been confirmed as the final meeting, with no meeting the week before. -

I don't think he's interested in any more involvement than running the training school and helping out a few riders. -
British Youth Championship Format

They drop their lowest score which includes 0 for a round not contested. The points system has been mentioned a few times this season but I can't find one. -
The champions should be the team that uses the most TRs in a season. Everybody loves a TR...

What an entertaining night's racing at my new favourite away track. Just shows what can be done when starting with a blank sheet of paper. Can't wait to see what the kids can do with the 3rd & 4th bend banking on Saturday. -
Worrying Rye House Rumours
Alan_Jones replied to Dave Stummings's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I know 2 different people that have asked Len & Hazal separately about the rumours and both were told that there will be speedway at Rye House next season. That suggests to me next season only, otherwise why not say for years to come. Is it also a coincidence that Central Park complete their final season under the initial planning restrictions next year? Len has done many good things for speedway in the past* but, that was then and, unfortunately for him, this is now. * Other than proposing the double point tactical, of course. -

Don't all promoters licences revert to the BSPA when a team ceases to operate? The Isle of Wight promoting company still exists but their licence was 'put on ice' when they decided not to compete this season. I assume that if they decided to return next season they would be subject to checks on their suitability to promote the same as any new promotion.

From the Speedway Regulations; "These rules cover the MIDLAND Development League (MDL) & NORTHERN Junior League (NJL). 21.1 A prior Application to use an historical name (ie. a defunct team) or alternative team name (other than the name of the Clubs staging track), must be made to the BSPA. 21.1.1 Should a Club be permitted to use an historical name, then the Club will be required to have an Associate registered to administer that Club."

In a TV interview yesterday, Bernie said he couldn't understand why there'd be any objection to the Sochi race. But then he was on top form and didn't give a straight answer to any of the questions.

Patryk Dudek Tests Positive For Banned Substance
Alan_Jones replied to lastword's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Dudek is being dealt with by the GKSZ, Ward directly by the FIM. The GKSZ's options are a fine of 5,000-50,000zl + 6 months suspension, or 6 months to 2 years suspension, or the penalties provided by the FIM Anti-Doping Code which amount to the same thing. -
