  1. Simon Lambert injured a knee riding for Birmingham so James Sarjeant guests at Rye House with Ben Hopwood riding at Glasgow.
  2. I and those around me thought the same, as did Luke, who was considerably closer.
  3. From the Match Report PR; "the Rockets had to contend with Luke Bowen’s exclusion in Heat 10 for a start line infringement – both the Harlow Flyer’s helmet peak and his front tyre were deemed to have touched the tapes"
  4. Nobody's saying anything that would penalise Berwick are they? IMO Sheffield put themselves in a position where they only had 6 riders. They should have gone with 6 riders and no R/R. If I were in a generous mood I'd have let them use reserves, but I'm rarely generous where rule flouting is concerned.
  5. Pre-season, Somerset. This week, Sheffield. Next week, who knows?
  6. But that's the problem, a lot of us seem to know the rules better than those given the responsibility of wielding them randomly.

  8. The latest Team Declaration, issued on the 1st, still has Roynon in the team.
  9. Sheffield should get the 28 day ban for withholding Roynon's services. Good to see the new promotion maintaining their high standard of professionalism.
  10. The new averages show the wisdom of dropping some decent riders to fit in a 10 1/2 point rider that was always going to drop a point but has in fact dropped 2 points. What they don't show, due to rolling averages and the 3 point minimum, is that Simon Lambert is scoring a gnat's over 1 point per meeting. Adam Roynon could replace any of the 5 pointers and my choice, on attitude alone, would be Jason Garrity.
  11. I'm amazed that we still get this outpouring of angst every time Len does this, and he does it 2 or 3 times a season. Most times he gets it right, some times he gets it wrong. In this case, the Rockets won't have a better team for the re-staging, but Scunthorpe might if Anders is back.
  12. Watch out for the "Arrived in Ireland, just heading to the stadium" post.

  14. At least they're talking about it which is a big improvement on previous seasons.
  15. ...including a shock/refreshing change in attitude by our promoter so early in the season. From today's SStar; '"I'm worried about Simon, his problems are not machinery-related which is all the more worrying." Never one to make knee-jerk decisions, the veteran promoter did hint that changes could be on the way if things don't get better. "The jury is definitely out on Simon at the moment. He knows it and knows he has to improve."'
  16. As the regs specify 3 leagues of 4, one team will have to be excluded. 'Last in first out' should take care of that.
  17. Pulled up in his last ride so probably setting himself up for a no show tomorrow...
  18. Too busy with 'don't criticise riders if you can't ride a speedway bike' comments on other threads.
  19. 16.4.3 Further necessary changes must be notified, with reasons given, to the nominated SCB Website, Opponents, BSPA Office & Referee as soon as they are known.
