Spot on...Can't beat it
-
You didn't....but I knew what you meant....I was just taking advantage of the situation
-
You ain't total rubbish Ray., you are pretty decent., it's just some of the other Dweebles,,,
-
Are you numptys still arguing about the same thing lol.....don't you ever get bored.
-
More of a cross stich person myself There is a lady at foxhall that brings her knitting.
-
How much to bring their knitting in?
-
I love coming on here to cheer myself up....it makes me realise that speedway fans must have some of the cleanest windows of any sports fans.
-
Attendance hasn't improved in the slightest since its been on TV..in fact I would say it's dropped... Would it go up if not no TV??
-
From what I've seen its 70 percent oap and 30 the rest... The oap queue is far far the longest at the entrance
-
However poole finish off their team...it will defo finish top 2
-
Only ever done it a few times...but if i ever took anyone new..it was never to my home track where the racing could very often be boring and at that time not very good for seating....I always took them somewhere else that had good seating and very well lit track...even though the racing would often be a little boring at times too.
-
That's very true.....makes me realise even more what a crap evening out speedway is...using my interests..likes and dislikes.....
-
Even at 28 pound it's still better value for money....there is more 28 minutes racing. Speedway is about a pound a minute, but like you say....sometimes there is a good meeting and it seems worth it. Good job we don't pay a pound a minute for other forms of entertainment.
-
I work full time...and I would like 20k a year for working...let alone being retired.
-
I can go to watch a British superbike round Friday Saturday and Sunday...all the practice, qualifying races and all the support races from 8 am to 6 pm all 3 days for 37 quid. Speedway isn't expensive..but value for money it's poor.
-
If it's meant to be a family sport....why do hardly any of the oldies...which is most of those there...not have their grandchildren with them??? A few do maybe but not many.
-
At the moment it's not really it's not really trying to be either.... Moto 3 is awsome....loads of young kids going for it . I now focus more on road racing than speedway...shame as speedway always used to come first...Sadly not anymore.
-
I don't have any issues with Julian Ryder or James Whitham or anyone that does moto gp or superbikes....its just those 2 on the speedway that I don't like.
-
That would be the best option for me...do they do that??
-
But they love sticking numbers in boxes and names between lines in a programme . So what other type of sports are speedway fans interested in???? For me it's all motorbike racing...I'm probably a bigger fan of moto gp and superbikes than I am of speedway. I also like some types of car racing...and most extreme sports...oh and darts..
-
I can't ever remember seeing many motorbikes outside a speedway stadium...maybe 5 max...but go to real bike racing and there are thousands sometimes. So even 40 years ago bikers didn't go to speedway in their masses.
-
I'm glad you say most...I'm a huge motorbike racing fan....follow and attend as much as I can...and have road bikes...Maybe not many fellow bike riders or bike fans follow speedway cos there isn't any bike brand association??? Or maybe it's cos most other bike fans think it's just going round and round in circles? Plus I can take my road bike..which is raced in superbikes and take to the track myself .
-
Or instead of not watching....just turn the sound down like I do.
-
I'm sure it also seemed like the teams had bigger rivals as well...when I was younger ipswich seemed to win a few things...and the arrival of a team like belle vue also winners at that time always added to the occasion.. Belle vue also had a few fans that would shout out things to wind up the home teams fans..creating a bigger atmosphere in the stands. And at foxhall we also had some flamboyant Americans like Cook...they always performed to the crowd like entertainers. Like you I have dvd to look back on....and the racing wasn't any better....a few crackers yes...but normally just the usual follow my leader.
-
Agree with that.... The racing wasn't any better...just the fact I was younger and excited at watching bikes going fast and making plenty of noise....throw in a bigger crowd making more atmosphere...and it makes the past seem better.
