I know that Long/grasstrack is different from speedway for a number of reasons but I was lucky enough to watch him race last season, if I could ride a bike half as good as him I reckon Middlo would put me in the Team heyyyy maybe thats not a bad idea!!!!!!

DaveJ what exactly is wrong with putting Tatum in? He's got guts and determination as much as the next bloke and like everyone else he likes to win. I'm sure if he was given the opportunity and wasn't commited to Long Track at the time he would jump at the chance to wear a TEAMGB race jacket with pride!

I must admit I wondered about Kelvin Tatum and suggesting him as well

Don't even go there! I still am very good friends with his parents and the hurt that has been caused by drugs to this family no-one will ever understand. His parents NEVER knew he was taking drugs and nor did quite a few of his friends. The ones that did offered friendly advice but advice is only there for the taking you cannot force someone to do something they don't want to.

dfttl....... yes I was there in 81 and like Grachan says the biggest cheer was when he fell, some things don't change though still some fans cheer when riders fall (we wont go there on that score as I don't cheer ANY rider who falls whether he be foreign, british, loved or loathed) as far as Michael Lee goes with the drugs I'm always being told off for harping on the past when speedway was speedway and we were all kids loving our sport. Done the crime served the time springs to mind and believe me there were a lot more riders "Doing" drugs in the 80's just Micheal was the one to get caught. Still think you cannot blame promoters, managers or peers though, I had a very good friend die from a drugs overdose in 1999 aged 21 just because he took drugs didn't mean that I do or did.

Balls .............. basically is what I have to say to that comment, everyone is in charge of themselves, don't get me wrong as a child Michael Lee was my hero. You can't blame parents for what kids get up to so how can you blame management or promoters by saying if he'd rode for someone else. Michael is his own person and regrets what he did at the time anyone would think he was a big time drug user.

I think with the news of whats been happening to Iwade just lately has deflated people a little as to Speedway in Kent. We can't even boast a Training Track at the moment let alone a Speedway Stadium. Tell you what you find me a place and I'll get a team, we might not be any good but we'll have a go & certainly have fun!!!! Honey get ya bike ready you can be the first in my team................ at #7, Mark Loram wont take any tempting he's a Kent Lad through and through but Dean Barker hmmmmmm now how can I tempt him (Kev H one word from you and I'll............. ) Sorted then get me a track and I'll get all the staff I need from here, I just wont let the riders out the garage and we're sorted! He he he we even have a Team Manager locked in there so thats a bonus!

Jeffster as long as there is speedway there's always hotdogs and burgers so foods not a problem as far as the room is concerned if the room looks minging sleep in the bath! Hope it turns out to be a nice hotel xx

Yesterday evening I attended the VSRA, a very pleasant evening with very good company. Whilst Tabby3 and I were sitting having a conversation in the bar we were joined by a gentleman who proceeded to tell us a few stories of days gone by and a tale from an Australian tour. As the evening went on conversation turned as to our speedway connections mine are fairly obvious but unless you know Tabby3 you wouldn't guess......... Anyway, this rider NEVER had a fan club (or not one that was official) So if anyone would like to join Keith Whites' fan club the joining fee is:- 1 Chicken Sandwich and a bag of Chicken and Thyme Sensation crisps

he or who there James? Nikki P ........ a lot of people thought he would win last year, especially after Cardiff. I never want anyone to win except one of the Brits, if they go out then Ryan Sullivan is next choice, then TRick or Jason Grump (just to see him smile rather than growl would be nice)
