Still only 11/12 I believe. Currently Redcar's mascot.
-
As per the Evening Gazette, rest of the side is Wilkinson, Skidmore, Graverson and Luke Crang.
-
On an entirely selfish note, hope your number 7 is not Phillips. Would like to see him end up at Redcar at some point in the future
-
Lyons did struggle at the start of one year but then ended it very well so no real complaints from me. I do agree with RR's general principle though, would rather see riders on the way up rather than on the way down. Would love to see someone like Kozza Smith, a real entertainer who never gives up. Was real value for money at the silver helmet this year.

Good start to team building, and it is nice to have at least one or two familiar faces in the side. Interesting to see who the new number 1 might be, although fairly certain we hear the same thing every year and we have not ended up with one yet! Maybe someone dropping down from Elite? Or someone like Nick Morris who always seems to fly round our place (highly unlikely i know, but we can dream!)

Would also say that young Greenwood looked pretty decent at reserve. Always on the pace. -

Congratulations to Somerset, they were excellent tonight. Doyle was excellent, along with Nick Morris. Always good value at the stmp. Thought Summers was superb for the Bears, great win in heat 15. Wilko was also excellent. Not a bad meeting to end the season -

Can't help with lineups I'm afraid. Going off Twitter Kevin Doolan is down to ride tonight, who for is another thing! I'm assuming it's for Dyer. Been a cold, windy day so far with spells of light drizzle. Forecast is for much of the same for the rest of the day - would assume at this point it will go ahead but if rain gets any heavier then might be a problem. -
Should be a great day of racing, looking forward to it. And sure the lads appreciate the extra track time too.

Not a bad looking side at all nyb. Think Ulrich on that average is a must. He is never going to be a 8-9 point man again but on decent kit is way better than 6.5. Jorgensen has had some great meetings at STMP as well. Skidmore has had a very decent season - very consistent and whilst he may not increase his average massively is always good for 6-7 points. Can't see Kus back next season and think Dyer will probably be off to Workington (if he comes back to the UK!) Entertainment wise would love to have Kozza Smith - was superb value at the Silver Helmet and really played to the crowd as well. A big fan of Phillips although not sure he would be ready for PL next season - maybe a full season in NL and then step up. Someone like Bates would be a decent option though. Big thing for me is to get the 'off-track' stuff sorted over the winter. For a large part of the season the track was awful. This has been much better the last month of the season so hopefully we now have that sorted. Think we do need some fresh ideas at the top though - and with the constant rumors of new directors it would be good to get that put to bed nice and early so we can all move on.

Right decision, been steady rain since half four. The biggest home meeting in our history, would have been a shame to run it in these conditions. Fingers crossed for better weather next week. -
Redcar V Newcastle Pl Play Off Thursday 26th September

Interesting snippet at the end as well, with apparently Kyle Bickleys dad saying that Kyle would like to sign a contract with Redcar once he turns 16. I know that's still afew years away yet but the lad is a real talent. -

Superb performance from the Bears in front of a very healthy crowd. Best Kus has rode for a long, long time - more like the Kus of old. Aaron took a little while to get going but his last few rides were superb. Some great passes from behind. Ulrich and Wilko both had good meetings and Skidmore was his very consistent self. Slightly disappointed in newcastle though. Worral never really looked like winning a race and Lindgren and Tully both very poor. Rosen looks another great find and Kerr started fantastically although tired. Still see Somerset as massive favorites now but you never know! -
Whilst I agree with the general point of us finishing 6th and still being champions seems strange, I think it's harsh to say we have been rubbish all season. The last 6 weeks of the season have been pretty poor - but up until then we had rode pretty well. Not an outstanding team, but much better than in previous seasons and I think worthy of just creeping into 6th.

Been great to see the improvement in Dan Phillips this year. Looks almost untouchable at this level now, hopefully can take that confidence with him to Mildenhall and do well. Impressed with Shuttleworth again, and was also the first time i had seen Basford. He showed some real promise and was really going for it. And was great to see Kev get a win!

Redcar Bears Vs Leicester Lions 15/8/2013
boz replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Terrible performance by the bears but fair play to Leicester, they really wanted that tonight. You just can't afford to have your number 1 not only not score, but never not look like scoring. Only really dyer and Skidmore can come out with any credit. Most entertaining Parton the meeting was the scrap between summers and Doolan! -
Njl Riders Championship - Redcar
boz replied to boz's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
I believe this was a one off individual championship, with the winner getting a place in the MDL riders championship -
Winner - Danny Phillips second - Ryan McDonald Third - Rob Shuttleworth Heat One - Phillips, Kevin Keay, Tom Fenwick - 56.9 Heat Two - Shuttleworth, Luke Ruddick, McDonald, Sam Darrock - missed the time. Heat Three - McDonald, Keay, Darrock - 59.9 Heat Four - Phillips, Fenwick, Shuttleworth, Ruddick - 57.7 Heat Five - Fenwick, Shuttleworth, McDonald - 60.4 Heat Six - Phillips, Ruddick, Keay, Darrock - 58.0 Fenwick withdrew before final with engine problems. Final - Phillips, McDonald, Shuttleworth, Keay - 57.9 Phillips was a class above to be honest, and came fom behind in heat four and the final. McDonald and Shuttleworth both rode well ad thought that Ruddick got better with every race.

Have to admit I'm further round on second bend and was not paying attention when he fell. Have no problem with his reaction mind, if the crowd give someone stick they should expect it back - all part of the fun. -

Pretty bizarre meeting that had a bit of everything. Actually really enjoyed it. Start of the meeting and newcastle clearly didn't like our tapes. A 3-0 followed by a 0-5. Tully having a right go at the crowd on turn one for no real reason. Track was better than recent weeks too. Lindgren was superb for diamonds again, seems to have a real liking for the place. Diamonds probably let own slightly by boson having a poor meeting. For the Bears Wilkinson was fantastic. Best meeting in a bears jacket for me. Just wish we could have picked him in heat 15 too. 0 points from Ulrich pretty much cost ujs the meeting. Clearly not 100% fit, but still scores decent points for belle vue.. An entertaining night all round though - first ti e. a while I really enjoyed the meeting. Edit - also a very decent crowd tonight, no doubt swelled by plenty of our neighbours but good to see. -

Should be a very close meeting this one. Think Newcastle will miss Henry, has gone pretty well at SMTP in the past. Mr Worrall will be guarenteed a warm welcome Think we will have to be at the top of our game to get something from this though. Hopefully the track enables the riders to be fully attack and be confident. Will need Kus to hit the ground running I feel if we are to get the win. Fingers crossed, but hopefully a close Redcar win -
Redcar Cubs 9 - 8 Northside (abandoned after 3 heats) Redcar Danny Phillips F F = 0 Kevin Keay 1 2 = 3 Matt Williamson 3 3 = 6 Northside Max Clegg 3 2 = 5 Rob Shuttleworth 2 1 = 3 Heat 1 - Clegg, Shuttleworth, Keay, Philips fex, 1-5 1-5 58.6 Heat 2 - Williamson, Keay, Shuttleworth n/s 5-0, 6-5 59.2 Heat 3 - Williamson, Clegg, Shuttleworth, Phillips fex 3-3, 9-8 awarded. Action packed 2 and a bit heats.great battle between Clegg and Philips in heat 1 with Phillips passing Clegg bend 3 lap 1. Unfortunately on same bend second lap Phillips slid off, leaving Clegg and Shuttleworth nowhere to go with all 3 falling. Clegg hit the fence pretty hard but after lengthy treatment got up. Frightening crash on second bend of heat three. Phillips and Williamson gated, with Phillips on inside. Both cubs got rather too close, with Phillips appearing to lock up lightly and hit williamsons back wheel. Phillips went head first into fence with Williamson also having an awkward looking fall. Good to see both get up.

Redcar V Edinbrugh (pl) 18/7/13
boz replied to Mr Blobby's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I'd pay good money to watch Craig cook every week. He was outstanding tonight. I always had the impression he was a bit of a gater but also came from behind twice tonight and was super quick. Special mention for Wilko, who rode the race to his life to keep cook behind him for 3 laps in heat 15. Have to admit, cook and vissing aside didn't think Edinburgh were particularly good but they kept going till the end and think most people fancied an Edinburgh 5-1 in the last heat. Ulrich had an off night with mechanical gremlins, and maybe feeling a knock or two, but you need your number 1 to be getting more than 3 points at home.Skidmore again very solid and Wilko was great all night. Trump card at reserve. Didn't really fancy us to get much to it so will take the point. -
Redcar V Rye House... Koc Semi-final... 11th July
boz replied to Shadders's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Bit of a strange meeting I thought, not the most exciting of meetings strangely despite the close scoreline. Track is just very poor at the moment, really hard to pass if you miss th gate. Think the track ha got into the riders heads now, summers certainly seems to be very unhappy. Sad really as on paper have a very solid team but can't see too many wanting to stay. Summer had an off night tonight, but everyone else chipped in. Dilger was looking great until his fall while Wilko battled very hard for hs points. Dyer grew better as the night wore on, excellent pass in heat 14 and great ride in 15. For the rockets, josh g was excellent. A great choice of guest. Aspgren was quick and mellgren looked good when he gated. Expected more from Nelson after his showing earlier in season. Set up nicely for second leg, think rye definitely have the edge though.
