  1. So if four clubs want to carry on at PL level, or above, let them, the rest can then ride at what ever level they want no problem with this idea at all
  2. All I can see if there is a money takes in the PL league is more teams wanting to ride in the CL, which is better for that league if it brings more teams into it. lets see how long the PL lasts in that situation, if they do it for next season we will see how many teams are left to apply to join the CL in 2020
  3. are they making money at the moment? I doubt it so why spend more than they have to the one thing speedway needs is for all the promoters to agree the set up for next season and stick to it, if riders don't like it they can retire or try and get a team place on the continent as I have said the simplest thing is the promoters to work together for the benefit of the whole, that will then benefit themselves, but as we all know that is also the hardest thing for them all to do, but don't worry because I am sure a four team PL will work
  4. They may start with just six teams but will they finish with six? this once again is the problem with the "i'm alright Jack" attitude in speedway
  5. where is the major sponsorship package coming from?
  6. It would mean the teams with the most money would win the league, while rest would go out of business trying to keep up the them
  7. They either stick together for the good of all or speedway will die I am afraid it will be latter as promoters stick to their own agenda and not care about the other teams they need to form a meaningful league
  8. Riders will only get paid more if the promoters agree, if by some miracle they stick together for the benefit of the sport as a whole costs wont increase The promoters hold the key to it all, rebuild in a sustainable way or go back to the free for all of 2017, and drive away more supporters
  9. Will only work if the averages are set at championship levels, or it will be too expensive for most clubs
  10. I agree with Einstein, and it seems we are going to go back to 2017 and hope it works this time, but survival of the fittest will result in only one team being left wont it?
  11. Kings Lynn were top of the qualifying league for the play offs, Poole were top of the league after the play offs
  12. Doesn't work to reduce costs as riders live all over the country Doyle lives in Norfolk, Doolan in Sheffield
  13. So the record books will record that KL were the league winners this year, seems we all know the answer to that except Allitt
  14. Fixed race nights haven't worked, clubs have lost more money because they ran on traditional non speedway nights. the only way fixed race nights will work is if we attract new fans who have not known any other race night, think we all know that wont happen
  15. There will be no change next year the ones that want a "premier league" will get their wish and the championship will stay the same along with the national league. there are likely to be less teams in the top two leagues and doubling up will be back causing more guests and RR as the saviour of fixed race nights has failed So basically we will be back to 2017 with a reduced number of teams and a reduced number of supporters with even less teams in 2020. the only good news for me this year was that the lack of fixtures saved me about £500 compared to last year
  16. Much easier to get the winner the BBC wants that way
  17. True, wasn't thinking there. But they will all have bumper crowds, and because of guests it will be a different team every time they ride against each other
  18. Each team rides against each other twice at home, good luck to them, and can they afford to last the season?
  19. but it doesn't work, the clubs with the money get the riders who are likely to up their averages, the ones with les money get the ones on the way down. unless you are talking about rider control, therefore allocating riders to teams
  20. You pay what you want to pay, if everyone as a group got together to say No, it would be No, but the "bigger" clubs will have to get the best, so they wont agree, well if they want speedway in this country to continue, they will have to act in the best interest of the group, not the individual, so goodbye to speedway
  21. If there are two leagues, one will be bigger. the question needs to be at what level can we afford the big league to be For quite a few seasons now clubs have paid out more money for riders they cant afford supposedly to get more fans in. it hasn't worked, we need the pitch the "big" league at a level that can be afforded and then hope to rebuild, but it looks like that wont happen obviously some clubs like to lose money year on year
  22. so nothings going to change, lets go back to how it didn't work perhaps the so called big teams will realise there is a problem when they keep losing teams mid season like this year, but even then I doubt it so another nail in the speedway coffin
  23. This is Speedway rules can be changed to suit
