So you are happy with gate and go racing and only passing when a rider goes off the inside line or makes a mistake. the track is not an excuse for losing, it is a reason for being bored
-
The big change needed is the track, if that doesn't change the stadium may well be empty in the summer when people go out on a Sunday and cant be bothered to rush back to be bored. the only two riders I wouldn't swap at the moment are Kemp and Kennedy, although that may be harsh on some of them who cant gate and because of the track cant pass But Nichol, Andersen and Proctor are definitely underperforming at the moment. Anyway will have to have a hard think about whether or not to bother again until someone tells me the track has improved

Anybody know why the away match at Edinburgh has been cancelled in two weeks. Time off arranged and hotels for the weekend then it disappears from the fixture list, with as far I can see no explanation. the promoters want more people to attend but how does this encourage away supporters to go to meetings?

Sheffield's Track Woes

We were saying the same last week and this. Frank Varey would have been on the track at 8am to give it a good soaking and then work on it. Someone who was there early yesterday said the track was bone dry at 1pm, result, dust bowl and gate and go for two weeks running. how much longer before supporters find something else more cleaner and more entertaining on a Sunday in summer? -
Looked OK, lots of kids there

Sheffield are trying by getting involved with the ice hockey team, money off for their season ticket holders and the team attending a hockey match -
Not a star rider, but Bob Paulson at Halifax in 68, riding round the boards in heat 13 to beat Boothroyd and Boocock to get a 39-39 draw for Sheffield and Arnie Haley coming from the back in, 69 in think, to beat Mauger in the silver sash match race at Belle Vue Andre Compton team riding Benji at Sheffield, he has to just about stop the bike on numerous occasions to get a 5-1, maybe against Stancl, cant remember the year. best team riding I have ever seen

No idea, but I don't think its the standard of racing, I cant see a major difference between now and 50 years ago -

This always used to be the case. no 6 man teams riding against 6 man teams, one injured in each team, bring in the number 8s don't why this cant still be done -

If the track is prepared correctly, Sheffield can be as good as it has ever been. I think there is no difference in the standard of racing over the years, -

2019 team building averages
The Third Man replied to allthegearbutnaeidea's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
If Cooke signs for Glasgow will he come in on his PL converted average because he only rode 8 CL matches last season? -
The way the averages are made up they only total 42 points for each team if there is a draw
-
So will teams build to 38 all season or will it increase month on month?
