No they don't automatically, but if i was TM they would because i would always use my best 4 from the night to go in the final 2 races. For example in the league you would name your top 2 for ht 15 unless you are too far in front/behind in that case you could name whoever is eligible. -

THE BSPA is pleased to confirm arrangements for the 2019 Premiership Supporters’ Cup. The competition replaces the top flight’s KO Cup this season and enables fans to have a direct influence on meetings, by voting for riders to take part in Heat 14. The voting will take place via each club’s official Twitter feed, and enables both supporters and team managers to be involved in the process. Following Heat 10 of each fixture in the competition, the team managers will provide the names of four of their riders for the Heat 14 vote and these will appear as a poll on the Twitter feed of the respective clubs, allowing supporters to vote for their preferred representatives in the race. The polls will be open for 15 minutes, and the top two riders from each team in the poll will compete in Heat 14. These riders, along with the riders for Heat 15, will be announced following Heat 13. It should be noted that riders who compete in Heat 14 cannot also compete in Heat 15. It will be the team managers’ decision whether to leave certain riders out of the Heat 14 poll should they wish to be certain of their availability for Heat 15. The format of the competition sees the Premiership clubs divided into two groups, with the winner of each group progressing to a two-legged Final. Races prior to Heat 14 will be run under the old 13-heat format. GROUP 1: Belle Vue (@TheAces), Peterborough (@PboroPanthers), Wolverhampton (@WolvesSpeedway) GROUP 2: Ipswich (@ipswichspeedway), King’s Lynn (@KLSpeedway), Poole (@poolespeedway), Swindon (@Sw -

It would be crazy from the team manager to nominate an under performing rider for ht14 surely. He has to name 4 riders for ht 14.I would most definitely name my best 4 on the night. And whoever gets voted for ht14 put the other 2 in ht15.Whether that means Lambert in ht14 then so be it,at least your not running the risk of having a rider who has probably scored 0 all night. edit:Bagpuss beat me to,must be able to type quicker than me -
I should think he has got 2 bikes, just like last season. He had 2 retirements so who knows.
-
See Proctor has withdrawn from the meeting at Berwick tonight.Didn't appear to be involved in any crashes just a couple of early retirements. So hope it's more mechanical than physical problems especially with Lynn's season just around the corner.
-
Good on em too. It's a team sport and i feel that's the way it should be(kevlars). They look like a team now just like in any other sport.Plenty of different sponsors shown clearly in white as well
-
Can't be at P&P because of work, but just seen a few pics on twitter and must say i like the look of the team kevlars.Very smart, nice to see being it's a team sport.
-
I must admit i wasn't sure if it was blue or black, must put my glasses on next time. But one thing is for sure it most definitely is not the sponsors usual colour of gold.
-
Don't agree, personally i think for instance with Peterborough being predominantly red if i was to sponsor them i would want my name in white.Easily seen on a red background. You only have to look at the sponsorships on football shirts and many of the writing on the shirts aren't actually the colour of the sponsors writing.Again for instance Etihad airways sponsor Man City writing on the shirt is black,Etihad airways is gold,Standard chartered(Liverpool)on shirts white but they are actually blue and green,Fly emirates are on Arsenal shirts in white but they are actually red.So you can see many big companies are happy to get there names out there in which ever way it can be seen the best.So many use white writing because this can be seen best on many backgrounds.
-
Maybe Cook was trying it on.His sponsors would have been happy with what would have been on his race suit looking at those above. But he told the management they wouldn't be happy so needs more points money. He wanted the best of both worlds by the looks of it but has backfired on him.He will now have to wait for a team position to come up and settle for whatever points money he is offered.

The same two riders can't be used in both heats. To me it sounds like your best 4 riders on the night will be in hts 14 and 15 the fans are just deciding the heats they would like to see them in.I think team managers would be foolish not to name their top 4 for ht14. -

To me there should now only be a delay between ht13 and 14 instead of the usual ht14 and 15.But we will have to wait and see i suppose. -
I know it's a pain for you,but it may have made someone's day who is at work on nights.I get pretty peed when i'm working and there are fixtures i miss i must admit. But only 4 years 9 months and 17 days and i'm taking early retirement so should be able to watch all matches, providing speedway is still about then
-
Don't think the availability of guests will be an issue. That will be down to the individual riders themselves if they want to take a booking or not..Having said that not too many riders seem to like to take guest bookings nowadays, must be down to their workload what with all the doubling up and other countries. There are obviously some that will,Harris being one.

I was thinking of other reasons really.Wondering why the older generation spend as little time as possible in the town now when once many use to meet up for a coffee and a chat.It is so run down now it isn't a pleasant place. Remember the stadium only went twice though, not being a stock car fan but went to see my mates dad race once. Also to see my mates dog race, not on the stock car track though. -

6 billboardsor just posters wrapped around a lamp post.Your lucky to see them in a village just outside Wisbech.I don't think i have even seen one in Wisbech, mind you i do go into town and out again as quick a Lambert around the NA.It's not the best town to visit anymore -

With many meetings done during light hours, would any kind of lighting shows have any affect? -
No,i think he's at reserve for you lot this season
-
No one really, just one comment from someone on here and you know how things drift, and before you know it Buster's sold up everything and moved to Acapulco

I too have decided Cardiff isn't for me,just over hyped and over priced imo. -

Think you miss the point re crowd levels. There is so much more for people to do now than what we had back 30/40 years ago.Add in the fact we now race midweek, although weekends probably wouldn't make that much difference now with all the different entertainment options for people to do now.Remember for me it was either speedway or a night at my Nan and Grandad's watching Starsky and Hutch or tails of the unexpected. That was pretty much my options,so it would be silly to refuse a night at the speedway.Don't think i could name all the options they have nowadays. -

Pretty much like Cardiff to me.Look back at the racing and it is pretty mediocre. But as you say the occasion and bigger crowd makes it seems better than what it is really. -

Great post, pretty much spot on imo. Only discussed similar at work the other day,not about speedway but going out in general. It did certainly seem better when going out when we were younger but in truth it is no different now just that we are a bit older and grumpier. What we use to do then seemed so much fun but to do it now i wouldn't dream of it. I have said on the forum before that speedway isn't much different at all these days, just that we have got older. You only have to take a look back at some of the old footage.Watched one the other day with D.Lanning commentating(rip).1984 world team cup,his line after one good race was who says speedway is all about the first turn.So obviously this phrase was still doing the rounds over 30 years ago.But going by a few on here it was wonderful back then. -
Wouldn't Riss then become a Peterborough asset if this was to be the case.Imo this won't happen anyway,he will keep speedway at the NA i would think.

I fear the knives will be out quite early from some, just because we have so many early away matches.
