I was hoping for Wright or Proctor at number one...but be surprised if we offered more than Somerset as they have stated his new club have done.
-
Nobody would say no to TJ but press thingy says 'new' number one and as he rode for us last season at 1, he wouldnt be in that bracket, but certainly would take him back - don't think any Bears fans would say no.
-
Barker even with his huge baggage and unprofessionalism - would be little shock if he follows the money as I imagine every club in the league would want him on that average.
-
Redcar will confirm their 1 to 7 on December 14th at Xmas Party - including a new number one, but that only means someone just over 7 so not a huge shock... Proctor, Ostergaard, Summers? Imagine it will be a STMP specialist...
-
Redcar should stick to their own assets to begin with.... Stewart is a no-brainer along with Anderson bros and also go with Bukhave - the Danes will be better now they miss less Thursday meetings. But the key is getting Stewart at reserve - in ideal world we also put MBA at reserve too but probably wont happen. I would take Barker back, but I suspect on his starting average he will follow the money, I hope not as he owes Bears for how he started last season, and how he performed for most of it - I would also like Berge back on his average, but again think he will be too tempting to others. I wonder if we might see Ostergaard back, given he will probably be available. JBA - 5.91 MBA - 4.29 Stewart 4.09 Bukhave 3? These four, all club assets - would be a good start for me.
-
Redcar wouldnt be competing for any highly desired rider no matter points average... ...but I dont say that as a real negative - it is what it is
-
For teams like Redcar who don't pay big and struggle to attract big heat leaders - 38 points is good news, means we will be more competitive if points were higher.
-
I like Thursdays - but it means the top flight is line with Europe - the top flight should take priority, and I have been supporting level two forever. I think mostly Fridays with the odds Saturday and Sunday afternoons, could work...we have the benefit of being able to ride when we want, so why try a few out...
-
Change of race night seems certain, must be Friday's with the odds Saturday afternoon maybe - think it might work
-
Surprised they didnt get an 8 team top-flight....and shocked to see both Leicester and Somerset dropping. Seems like a change of night for the Bears, probably to a Friday - which have been reasonably popular. And two teams up, Birmingham and ? Hope it is Kent, like to see new teams...shame nobody has stepped up at Rye House with a track ready to use.
-
It is pretty clear that Redcar will run but the Bros won't give up the reigns - every Redcar fan would love Ged to be in charge, it is mouthwatering what he could do, and I don't doubt one day he might be in charge but can't see it this year. The Gladders will just bring in a new promoter who is told to build on a shoe-string, probably even more than this side was built too. Kevin did a great job and it is a massive disappointment to see him go....

Ipswich v Redcar 19/7/18

Ben Barker's season in one sentence - "Barker, whilst all action, looked slow and couldn't make much of the impact." No team will ever succeed when you have a number one who can rarely compete... -
Everyone said similar things about Somerset before they opened and Scunthorpe, who previously had poor crowds before relaunch - with no Coventry and Nottingham/Long Eaton not an option perhaps it is ideal time...

Indeed, they didn't want to give up their holding...what I was told -
Berwick v Redcar 9/6/18

Sounds like an interesting night, and think we missed a chance with Summers not scoring huge points but Berge and Stewart did very little so can't expect too much, but early days for this newish team and Berwick have proved they are no mugs at home. -

This could be close if Greaves or Stewart can contribute from reserve, I think we could pick up a point here... -

Good team performance in a decent meeting, not sure about the cracking racing though - seemed very one line to me, think the riders gave it everything but was very difficult to pass and the best probably being Jorgensen chasing down Summers in 13 in by far his best ride of the evening. Encouraging from Berge and Jorgensen, both looked better as the meeting went on - Greaves tried hard and was in the mix every race, hopefully the points might come in next few weeks - the Anderson bros were superb, two of Stewart's wins were down to each brother protecting him and it was probably JBA's best meeting for the Bears. Stewart was good if not a bit up and down to start with, but his last two rides were excellent, finishing the meeting very strong and played a huge part in getting the Bears over the line. Berwick were decent and Summers excellent as ever, whilst Pijper would still be in Redcar colours if he has shown any of that form for us! Hopefully Etheridge will be ok after his nasty fall, could have been a lot, lot worse and Jorgensen did great to lay it down. -
Cleary the promotion had no issue with him otherwise they would have dropped him....he has been excellent for the Bears - I just don't see the rush to axe him when he has done little wrong.
-
Let's see if Greaves can average nearly 8 at the STMP....as Busch has done this season
-
Jonas has been asked to ride third heat leader, almost an impossible task in this side...and a choice between Greaves and Busch, down to scores - I don't care if Redcar have English riders or not, it is about the team. If Greaves averages more keep him, if not - he goes
-
Greaves has his chance and hope his does well, his line of the fourth corner is excellent, but if Busch is back I don't see him staying - at the end of the day Busch is an asset and a better rider, and there is little chance of MBA, JBA or Stewart making way for him.

Redcar V Berwick 7/5/18

With Proctor we go from a team with barely one heat-leader to a team with three - I think we win this comfortably... -
Huge thumps up to the promotion for bringing in Berge, always liked him and he should be a good third heat-leader. With Jorgensen we suddenly look quite strong. The Andersons at second string is very good, and Stewart is outstanding at reserve, and nice to see Greaves get his chance.
-
I just don't see how anyone can think Barker has been anything but poor this season, and it has ALL been of his own making with his shocking preparations....he was signed to lead the team and be number one, and he just hasn't - this season he has been one of the worst number ones we have ever had,
-
You can't be box office riding NL bikes - he is just unprofessional to the extreme, but as I have said, season is over now anyway so may as well see what he does when he is back to fitness, surely can't be any worse then what he has been ...and I don't think five heats wins in five home meetings is Box Office, but that is probably me being old fashioned...
