The continuing decline of Speedway

Ah the SCB, totally independent regulatory body -
And it is not a personal thing we either...Kus is what he is most of us knew what was coming. Barker has let himself down, five wins at home from five meetings is truly awful, but as I have said I think our promotion will stay loyal and I don't have a problem with that given the season is over as a contest for us.
-
That is the issue, and I think the promotion will stay loyal because they are very good people, and I guess there is little harm as the season is already over in terms of what we can do.
-
Sponsors took back last seasons equipment ....which explains alot about his form, a fact Rye House were clearly aware of...
-
This the same rider who from his five home meetings this season has won five races in total?

The fact you back the rules which produce meetings that could very well kill the sport just confirms what a deluded old chunt you are... -

I never said or implied that the BSPA rule book was not applied correctly...no doubt it was, but the BSPA rule book is an ass, like the people who wrote it. -
Barker is one of the most unprofessional riders you will ever come across...starting the season without any bikes, and still chasing his tail - Redcar deserve better. Yes it is very unfortunate that he has got injured and yes he will always try and is wonderful on his day, but the club isn't a charity and if he isn't professional enough to care, then why should they keep him on - he is miles away from being the number 1 the club need and deserve.

I dont want Barker back, sorry he has been injured but he has been nowhere near good enough and hopefully we will find a replacement in the coming weeks. -

At Newcastle - for starters - not allowing adequate replacements for the Anderson bros, who both made every effort to get to the meeting, but was beyond their control. Tonight, Thomas Jorgenson could not ride because of illness and seven day ban, forcing to use a NL rider - how is that good for the sport. Jorgenson had a genuine excuse for missing KL meeting, then why ban him if he might be fit? KL would have no issues, sometimes riders can have illnesses that rule them out for 24/48 hours, why ban them? The BSPA is a complete nonsense and not fit for purpose - try explaining to a new fan, why Redcar had to use Rob Shuttleworth - because the governing body would rather see under-par teams and below par meetings than applying common sense. The sport doesn't have to die in this country but the BSPA in its current guise does nothing for the sport other than continue to hamstring it at every turn. -
Looks like it has real potential.... Look at May 21st on Speedway Friends on Facebook - pictures of the shale, track looks a good size. https://www.facebook.com/groups/198832456794185/?hc_ref=ARSsVtDR9pvSWjkX9hpApTYc8XfaqGiXAhvDt9WrG7mYQ3L2ItsTczUw9ibbhX35R3M

Look at what the BSPA have done with Redcar over the last week - disgusting, they are destroying speedway at every level. -
Barker and Kus need to go simple.
-
As this is a Redcar thread, lets talk about them...well done to the promotion for bringing Thomas J in - proactive and not always easy to find someone - makes us a hell of a lot stronger, especially at home.
-
Thomas Jorgensen is talk of the terraces - he is very good around South Tees, and would probably soon be at number 1...one rider doesn't make all the difference but this sort of switch is a big one for Redcar. Kus should never have been in, but if he is dropping down to reserve - even he would be worth a try at reserve, I may as well stick with him now - not let someone else benefit from his reduced average.

You have slandered the Workington promotion.... -

JBA is a decent second stringer... You take many second stringers in this league and make them ride at 3, results would be the same... Barker and Kus are the problems here - the two heat-leaders in the team, both woeful. Simple. -

Backbone - as in those four would be the reserves and two second stringers....we are just missing 3 heat-leaders...JBA is being asked to take on a role he shouldn't be... -

10-2 up after two heats and still lose by nearly 20 points, four heat wins at home - another shocking performance. How long can Kus get away with his shambolic efforts?...and Barker may be trying but our number one has now one TWO races in our last four home matches, again just not good enough. The Anderson bros, Busch and Stewart are the backbone of a really good team, but the shambles around them is not helping in any way. This team is not even competitive at the moment, we have a great promotion but they have to act before people stop going - you can't have a home team barely winning races... -

Well let just hope he bags at least one win...something he could not do last Thursday...indeed let's just hope he shows up, from the last three home meetings - Ben Barker has ONE heat win so fair to say he owes the home fans a performance... -

MBA and Stewart at reserve makes Bears very strong...but is that enough to stop Lakeside? Not sure, key is really Barker, he needs to play his part in stopping Morris and Lawson claim maximums, let just hope his bikes are up to speed... -

RedcarRacer replied to SuperBear's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Barker's problems are to do with shoddy equipment and we all know that, he is being paid number one rates and should be performing as such. Why does everyone think speedway is a charity? He is letting Redcar down by being unprofessional and coming to work with below par equipment. -
June 1 could see some interesting options - Pijper might be lucky to escape, Kus could very well be at reserve by that point...

It's not a one-off though, when you second Heat leader is Kus, you can't afford for your number one to be under 7.... One bright side on Kus is that he will soon be at reserve if he carries on... -

Huge well done to Jordan Stewart - outstanding and the Andersen bros, were great value - but boy oh boy, Barker and Kus just get worse... A good win in the end and one will probably won't have expected a few weeks ago.
