Redcar v Glasgow 17/5/18
RedcarRacer replied to SuperBear's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Kus is riding now - his Czech meeting postponed, so Redcar at full strength again -
Believe he was in talks with another club and Redcar were happy to let him go on loan, so they looked at a different avenue - but that broke down, expect him to get a team place soon
-
I think if Bukhave goes well on Thursday, he will be in for Pijper - as he is already a club asset and was close to a team place this year anyway...
-
Knee jerk - anyone who thinks this side is not destined for the wooden spoon unless changes are made, is delusional - at least three of the side should be worried. It would be four with Barker in the firing line if anyone decent was out there to come in, but as it stands he will get off with his poor start which seems to be machinery related - but he needs to sort it out, and quick. As it stands - Busch clearly stays, and the BA brothers are good second stringers if not a bit better but that aside the rest have been woeful and none could complain about being dropped.

Some very interesting names in the Julie Lewis - Tobias Thomson, Max Ruml, Rafa Konopka, Jakob Bukhave - if they out perform the current Bears - surely contracts will be on offer...

Scorpions vs Redcar 4.5.18 Championship
RedcarRacer replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
This is getting embarassing - the bottom three Kus, Pijper and Stewart...there is the problem, but how do we solve it? -
Redcar v Scunthorpe championship shield

Anderson brothers are very good second strings, MBA might improve further - Stewart isn't good enough but as we just signed him have to stick with him. Barker will stay. The only options are to jettison Kus and probably Pijper, although might be worth sticking with him on that average although his recent form shows just why he is on that mark. -

Kus is the main issue, was never going to be good enough and we knew that. Pijper is having a shocker, both need to step up or ideally be replaced. Barker clearly has bike issues that hopefully will be resolved whilst Stewart and MBA need time but both will be fine. Busch has been great but he can't carry us for long. -

Makes us weaker as Stewart is not good enough at the moment to take extra rides and Pijper is off the pace... -
Stewart is worse than expected but to expect MBA or Stewart to be pushing for heat-leaders berth was a bit much, and there was too much pressure on Barker as Kus was a dreadful signing - and I said this at the time, Pijper is the major disappointment but have to presume he will pick up soon.

Sheffield v Redcar SGBCS 26/04/18 @ 19.30
RedcarRacer replied to Blackadder's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
If Sheffield don't hit 60 we have done well, don't see us getting near although Proctor riding is a bonus on both nights, makes us a lot stronger (not that I agree with it)... -
Championship Predictions 2018

I very much stand-by this prediction... -
Redcar v Newcastle (Shield) - Thursday
RedcarRacer replied to RedcarRacer's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Nice way to open the season and stretch the legs, a few cobwebs needing blowing away early doors - but let's not get too excited, that is one of the worse teams ever to turn up at the STMP - if not for Doolan, it would have been a horror show. Morris was a plus, looked decent but the rest were worse than we could have hoped for. And that is why the Bears can't take it too serious - but there were some great positives - firstly Busch, won't be long before he is in the main body, but he looked well on the pace - as did MBA, he has a lovely style. Barker looked liked his old self again - but have to say was a bit concerned with Stewart but then again he will probably have time at reserve to adapt, he won't be jettisoned so will have time to settle. Pijper was off the pace, but will put that down to an off night - generally a huge pleasing performance in-front of a very good crowd, but think next week's match with Sheffield will be a much truer reflection... -
Redcar v Newcastle (Shield) - Thursday

They think they double our crowd when they come, they don't realise that we do get bigger crowds when the 'big' teams come to town... -
Exeter - A Glimmer Of Hope?
RedcarRacer replied to Sotonian's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Sounds good - Exeter at Champ level would be ideal then have all three levels covered with Plymouth and Somerset. -
Redcar v Newcastle (Shield) - Thursday

I just hate guests - should only ever be allowed for a number one. -
Redcar have confirmed that JBA misses out due to Danish qualifier, and Paul Starke rides in his place - but why have a guest for such a pointless meeting or I have missed the rules that we have to have a guest rather than R/R? Surely be more beneficial to the team to have R/R and allow Stewart and MBA to have extra rides at their new home and then also Kus -plus save having to pay expenses. And against such a weak Newcastle side there is no need for a guest. Prediction, all down to Busch and Pijper but both could and should hit double figures so Bears by 12 Redcar: Ben Barker, Jordan Stewart, Paul Starke, Mikkel B Andersen, Matej Kus, Tobias Busch, Theo Pijper Newcastle: Ludvig Lindgren, r/r for Lewis Rose, Tero Aarnio, Matthew Wethers, Stuart Robson, Carl Wilkinson, Ashley Morris
-
Less Grasstrack etc - I have been a speedway fan for over 30 years and I have never attended a grass meeting and never will, different sport - ditch it!
-
Also shocked Kus wasn't back with you lot - and although not a favourite, the main reason Redcar fans were a bit down on the signing, is that he is a downgrade on what we had last year, in Wright and/or Garrity...and also there is little chance of improvement, but things could have been worse...we could have been stuck with Robson or Wilkinson again
-
The fact this needed explaining and I thought the naming of the 1 to 7 was a new low for the Greyhounds
-
Half a dozen home defeats about to be served up at the Greyhound Stadium - oh dear, not good as we know the fans are not very loyal and will not watch their team getting beat on a regular basis...
