  1. If your going just for the speedway then Bydgosz normally delivers. If you want to sight see whilst there and have cheap food and drink then Prague is the answer. You can get from central Prague to the airport for about £3 by using public transport, Buses and trams run at regular intervals during the day so no problem getting around the city. Copenhagen is a train ride away from the airport, but beer is more expensive.
  2. At Lakeside a fan manged to get evrybodys autograph except Holders, apparantley he was 'too busy' to sign the programme As for who I want to win, I'm not bothered, who ever wins the title will have worked all season for it, so deserve their success. GP losing it's appeal to me after reading about JC's retirement
  3. Decent GP with some good races for the minor placings. Congrats to TG. Holder should be odds on to win the WC from here. Regarding the NP/AJ incident I thought it was a racing accident.
  4. not been for a few years, but watched on TV and enjoyed the event. Might make an appearancce next year. As for tickets, last time I attended got a £59 ticket for £30 and had a great view from the lower teir.
  5. Not a fan of Holer, but credt where credit is due. An awesome display tonight. Apart from the race with Emil, he didn't look troubled. On this form he wont be far away at the end of the series
  6. there will be plenty of cheap tickets available on the day. on my last visit I paid £25 for a seat lower teir, retail price £55, the ticket touts just want rid the closer to tapes up you get
  7. Phil, thanks for your reply, not really what I wanted to read but thanks any way.
  8. sorry for the double post, covdogs.com have the capacity listed at 4500, although that seems a little low to me phil. isn't this the biggest problem with Speedway in the UK. Football moves from city to city, even the Olympics are hosting matches at smaller stadia, as posted it's less than two hours drive from Sheffield to Coventry, so I can't understand how the logistics would make that much difference. The airfence could be transported as it is for the GP's, both Sheffierld and Coventry have the capacity to host Televised events, and maybe more fans from north of Manchester would attend if one meeting was further north
  9. the grandstand seats circa 1800, but due to the taylor report is now limited to about 1500, I would think you could get 1000 on each bend and another 2000 on the back staright, add to that 250+ on the home straight and 300 in the bar/dining lounge there is capacity to hold around 6k. More than enough for this type of meeting. How about holding the race off at one venue and the final at another. Sheffield is only 2 hours away from Coventry so wouldn't make to much organization if the WTC was held on these shores
  10. my money is on TeamGB. as the saying goes 'easy come easy go' Regardless of tonights result Australia will be on the top of the podium Saturday
  11. steve, watching the spanish beat up the french, so didn't notice if it was raining or not
  12. is it just me or was the track looking very wet for the final, a bit unfair to all riders to dump that much water on the track
  13. harris @50.s ew, should have waited he's now quoted at 66/1
  14. Krasnikov got beat more than once in a weekend, that's unusual. I guess at least it makes the championship a little tighter
  15. Coventry Speedway are hoping (subject to interest) to take a coach to Berwicj for the qualifiers, anyone who is interested needs to make themselves known at the kiosk in speed square
  16. for the NZ GP here are the choice from me Chris Harris Bjarne Pedersen Nicki Pedersen Hans Andersen
  17. Back on topic. Darcy could earn £thousands per week in Poland, so is it surprising he is considering sitting out the GP for another year. A year to get more track time, and get a team ready for his assault on the WC in 2013.
  18. not surprising with the last two individual WF's being held at Bradford's Odsal
  19. Wishing all our friends a safe and enjoyable trip to Assen this weekend, wish we could be there too.
  20. just needed to put on record my CONGRATULATIONS to Chris Harris. finshing the season as world #6 is well beyond most peoples expectations. I was pretty critical about Chris' application after his disaster at the GP Challenge in Vojens, yet fair play he has turned his season around with some great results. I was wrong Chris, you deserve and have earnt a GP place next season, WELL DONE
  21. Fair enough, but still don't think he should get anymore than jacket 19. Didn't qualify, run-off or not
  22. Nicki is a certainty, 3 world titles and a season plaguued by injuries Emil will be in, a season ruined by injury I fancy Jonsson will get in after tonights showing. plus maybe 1 Brit. (applications on a postcard)
  23. well done and congratulations to Tomasz, withour a doubt the best rider this year. special mention to Bomber, a truely gritty performance tonight, should be safe for 2010 now.
