  1. Funny that , we say the same thing about Sheffield
  2. Maybe , but the signing of Lemon will add a bit of bite to the bottom end of their side ahead of their visit to the dump on Friday
  3. When it's like it was today , it's the best sport in the world . The Charlie Monk stand was enhanced by the visiting Devils fans and we all witnessed a belter
  4. Good luck Mark and a good move by the Bears
  5. And if we get what we got today when i'm down in Plymouth on the 18th of July , i canny wait That mob along the M8 can have their record breaking side and their big home wins , give me what we enjoyed today everytime
  6. You can do that anytime , the tractors come out to play every four races , enough time to get to the bar then
  7. Awesome isn't a word you normally associate with a speedway meeting in this country , but that's what we witnessed today . Everything that is still good about our sport was on show at Ashfield today . Two evenly matched teams , a superbly prepared track and more overtaking than you could wish for in a GP , it was all there and more . Quite simply the best £16 i've spent in ages , if only we could get the people through the door to see what a great product speedway like this can be . The 6 riders on each side gave us the most entertainment you could possibly wish to see . Ok we might have scraped home 46-44 , but as i said to the Plymouth fans around me , you didn't really care who came out on top , both teams were absolutely superb . And i was actually glad Plymouth got a closing 5-1 because they deserved at least a point out of today's meeting . 12 gladiators slugging it out in the sunshine will do it for me everytime . We all get fed up with our team's being crap and the rules pissing us off and tracks being dodgy , but when you get what we got today , it restores your faith in the sport . Thank you the riders from Glasgow and Plymouth for making an old cynic very happy this afternoon .
  8. In the bar after the best meeting I've seen for a long time . That was terrific
  9. They'd been at the dump the night before remember , they were probably happy to have a bit of room to move
  10. Dry and bright this morning , no weather worries . Be an entertaining afternoon in the Charlie Monk stand hopefully .
  11. We're all suffering that way . The crowd at Glasgow last week was about the same as you described last night's attendance to be , and i cant imagine a meeting against Plymouth today will attract any more than that . Unfortunately a north/south split seems inevitable as fans cant afford to travel great distances anymore and the local meetings are the only ones that can generate a decent attendance level now .
  12. I support Glasgow , so of course i have . The earlyish part of this GP was rubbish , as is the norm with temporary tracks . Gradually it did improve , but it wasn't a classic by any stretch of the imagination .
  13. It's GP racing , some of the moves are far more desperate than what you see in normal league racing
  14. Time to bin these temporary tracks , it becomes a lottery
  15. Depends on which twin is calling himself Steve that night
  16. But when you are limited between heats 5 and 12 , surely you are best to use it at the earliest opportunity . Especially as when the opportunity first arose it was against probably the weakest Edinburgh pairing of Sam Masters and Aaron Fox
  17. The forum is still okay . Ok it isn't the wee glee club that it was at the start , and there was a definite dumbing down when Edinburgh fans started posting , but overall it's an enjoyable and interesting place to be .
  18. I'm sure he'll appreciate not having to partner Derek Sneddon for a change . But his addition makes it a more interesting meeting . And i don't think any of your mob really need the extra practice .
