  1. Stewart knows all the tricks , let's hope we can beat Leicester today and condemn Stewart and his Lions to a trip to Armadale in the play offs
  2. Wrong , you could have got a refund or a rain off ticket , that was announced and plenty of people did
  3. Some quality tractor racing going on , nothing in the way of speedway though . I have my doubts of seeing any racing tonight
  4. Delighted with the 4 points , which was a must for us last night , but as a spectacle it was a pretty mundane meeting . Riders chased hard , but overtaking was impossible unless the man in front made a mistake . I've a lot of time for Berwick speedway and their fans , but I doubt if I could go and watch that every week
  5. Sad to watch a former world champion struggle to beat 2nd tier second strings and reserves . We had that with Les Collins in his final season , it is hard to watch
  6. That night was beyond belief , hopefully it stays dry for you and the rest of us tomorrow
  7. I think a lot depends on the Pole's scoring prowess from reserve , assuming he has clearance to ride . L
  8. After Redcar's win at Birmingham last night, I think we have to win this one to get into the top 2
  9. Maybe we got in first . Summers or the crap guest, Etheridge , might be a possibility . Cant see either a guest or r/r covering suffiently Son of God's scoring potential round the Peugeot velodrome however .
  10. There lies the problem . We've had a much stronger second tier in the past. Blimey in 2004 my team had Parker , Stancl, Grieves and Bentley and finished 11th . It's the weakness of the top flight that gives the impression that the second tier is too strong
  11. What a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon that was yesterday. We all know speedway has its problems , but when you get a superbly prepared track like that , two good teams giving their all , and for a change no rain , there isn't a better sporting spectacle in this country . After two relatively heavy away losses to probably the current best two sides in the league , there were a few nervous home fans in the stadium before the meeting . Scunthorpe didn't come just to make up the numbers , they gated well in the majority of the heats , but one thing we do have is a team full of racers and some of the passing yesterday was breathtaking . Craig Cook in that kind of form is a joy to watch round Ashfield , and Sam Jensen and Connor Bailey just get better and better . What the Pole brings to the party will determine whether we're good enough to challenge the likes of Poole, Leicester or Redcar over two legs , but if we get racing like that from now to the end of the season , its the best £17 for a sporting event out there .
  12. Hope its the one I watched on the telly last night
  13. If anyone has any spare or available seated tickets or tickets for the disabled area , for both days can you p.m. me please . I know its a long shot but you never know
  14. My post was tongue in cheek , that was a hilarious read when I got home from.the meeting on.Friday
  15. I'm a wee bit deflated that the experts on the speedway updates site were wrong about us getting Dudek and paying him a 5k meeting retainer
  16. Just read it , brilliant read , comedy gold . Some speedway fans are just a bit weird
  17. Nobody rides the second bend at Ashfield better than Son of God
  18. C'mon Poole 31-35 you have heat leaders that can ride the dump , intae them
