  1. Hopefully the monsoon season is over and we get a meeting this Friday . Should be a straightforward three points for the Tigers as we are at home and don't need to be twenty points ahead by heat 11 to have a chance of hanging on . Been a turbulent season for the Diamonds , but hopefully their 75th team manager change since April.can galvanise some team spirit . It's a return for Ben Barker , and you just don't know what to expect from him . He'll be backed up by Matty Wethers . Apart from those two I dont expect too much from the rest and we should at least hit 55 . But the main thing is that the rain stays away and we enjoy an entertaining 15 heats .
  2. Thats a worry , I hope we haven't borrowed the Monarchs book of excuses
  3. I wouldn't bother even getting involved in this nonsense bruv
  4. Heats 13 and 15 used to be food and drink.for Cook , no.longer it seems
  5. Three away meetings in a row we've looked in control of things only to fall in a heap in the final few heats
  6. Familiar tale on our travels this season . Why do we run out of steam at the end of these meetings ?
  7. We're in new ground for this kind of thing . We had tickets for Berwick v Glasgow last Saturday, which was rained off , and we got refunded by the Tuesday without having to do anything . I'm sure Glasgow will be the same , just keep an eye on your bank account
  8. Sorry you had a wasted journey , was brilliant sunshine all week up until ten minutes before the tapes were due to go up . Nobody could really believe how hard it came down , we stayed for a few pints and within an hour the track could have probably held racing , bit too late though . Hope you can manage back one day and actually get to see some racing on our fantastic track
  9. That was a downpour and a half . There was a Somerset KO Cup.match a few years ago.that got stopped in.similar monsoon conditions , but I think.the rain tonight was even worse than that day . Brilliant sunshine up until.7-20 , then that . You couldn't make it up.
  10. Agreed , but the so called top league is a bit of a nonsense
  11. So to be clear about this ......Berwick can't use r/r for Anderson because he hasn't rode a meeting for them this season , so they have to revert to using r/r for Garcia - who hasn't rode a meeting for them this season
  12. Maybe they can use r/r for Makovsky as well , speedway rules are totally bonkers
  13. The Tigers bandwagon rolls on this Friday when we entertain Plymouth . Be a nice change to have speedway royalty in opposition, but after watching Jason Crump struggle during Monday night's telly meeting , you wonder how fit he actually is . We welcome back Connor Bailey to the fold and hope he can hit the ground running to give us that bit of extra potency at reserve . Sam Jensen's early season form sees him move into the top 5 , with Justin Sedgmen dropping down . Shows how daft our league set up is when Sedgmen rides in the main body of the team for Sheffield in the 6 team nonsense , and rides at reserve in the Championship . Crazy . Anyway this should be a routine three points with Plymouth looking to have a long tail , but hopefully it's another cracker on the league's Premier circuit .
  14. Had a great night in the Leaping Salmon , didn't miss the speedway at all . Be back at the end of July
  15. True , had paid for the train tickets and bed and breakfast so decided just to have a day out in Berwick anyway And it was raining when I got off the train at ten past one
  16. Canny blame them , I wouldn't want to take us on without Leon Flint either
  17. Going by our recent away fixtures , we'll need to be 14 points ahead by heat 13 to secure the points . So we'll need Summers and co to keep doing what they've been doing for another week yet .
  18. Disappointed Tiger heading home , but today is why speedway is the best sport in the world , the best two teams in the league served up a classic on a brilliant track .
  19. This kind of thing never works . Seems a good idea on paper , but there is always a reserve who improves out of all proportion . I would imagine there will be a few instances this season where a number 7 will be " injured " just before a tough fixture . Smith's injury is a legitimate one as he crashed during the week , but I admit circumstances have fallen favourably for us .
  20. Not a bad meeting at all . Shame restrictions meant that the crowd was sparse because the racing deserved a better atmosphere . For us Cook was his usual dominant self , only losing his maximum to Wright from the coffin box gate 4 . He was well supported by Nicol , Ostergaard and Jensen . And a word about our guest , Danyon Hume , he was brilliant , and exciting to watch . For the Bears , Wright and Allen carried the main fight , but after all the Anders Rowe hype this season , he was very disappointing . The covid nonsense seemed to go smoothly and we were never harassed to wear a mask , which was good. On to Redcar on Sunday now
  21. Visiting reserve outscores home number 1 and visiting reserve gets criticised ? Only in speedway
  22. I have my ticket for Sunday and will be there . Its a joke I have to travel all over the country to see speedway when I'm not allowed into my local track
