  1. Our old foes Leicester are the visitors this week should the rain finally do one and let us have speedway. Last time the Lions were in town they left with the league title , time for a bit of revenge . Impressive heat leaders in the shape of Hans Andersen , ex Tiger Nick Morris , Kyle Howarth, who was impressive in Monday's British Final . And Ryan Douglas . So 4 heat leaders , Zane Kennedy and the Thompson Twins ( though they're better speedway riders than they were pop stars ) makes this a tough task . We have the busiest guest in the league , Tom Brennan , instead of Ulrich . Well he does ride for Eastbourne so he has to earn money somewhere . We need to get our act together pronto , so no better place to start than by mauling Stewart Dickson's mob . Hope it lives up to the potential to be two crackers this weekend
  2. Going back to the actual meeting , thoroughly enjoyed myself . Even the rain couldn't spoil the racing , which was top drawer . Roll on the Speedway of Nations . Pity Belle Vue aren't a weekend track , would make the effort more often. Enjoyable wee bevvy in the Diamond Lodge after the meeting too
  3. No idea why we were so twitchy at the tapes last night , maybe the pressure is getting to them . What was the reason for the heat 13 pantomime after Cook broke the tapes ? First we could only go with 3 riders cause Cook had gotten a previous warning , then Sedgmen was in , then Cook was back in but off 15 metres . Bit of a comedy there . But over the piece Newcastle wanted it more and deserved the win , good to see Adam Roynon riding really well again . Then you had Newcastle's guest , Aaron Summers , punching the air in delight crossing the line first in heat 13 , guess he must feel some kind of resentment because we let him go a couple of seasons ago .
  4. No bones about it , we were crap tonight . Poole got 61 there two weeks ago and we didn't remotely look like winning tonight . Some serious thinking needs to be done about where we go from here .
  5. After a mid season monsoon break , looking forward to seeing a meeting again . A nice wee two day trip , taking this in before heading for the British Final .
  6. That wouldn't be an issue , Kings Lynn haven't changed their side for a week and a half , so they must be due .
  7. They put the GP on for us in the Black and Gold club ( next to the track ) last Saturday night
  8. Not the first German ex-Monarch to play that game
  9. Yesh what was the point of dumping that big mound of dirt on the back straight ? We got two 5-1's after they done that , so we weren't bothered
  10. The tannoy on the back straight was rubbish last night , I was doing the texting but couldn't hear properly the announcements
  11. Wells rode like a rider who had his arse booted after his first race . Sedgmen embarrassing in heat 14 , getting passed by the previously pointless Bickley . Depends tomorrow whether we gate or not .
  12. Ben Barker for Ulrich in both legs . Berwick have a few riders who have ridden well at Ashfield in the past , so we will have to be on our A game . But hopefully we can get enough of a lead so we can enjoy a stress free day out at Berwick on Saturday
  13. Most of us were scratching our heads at that decision . No harm to Etheridge, but he hasn't scored well round Ashfield in the past , and hadn't had a great start to the season at Berwick either. But we move on now and hopefully we get Ostergaard back as soon as humanly possible . We'll probably have to go down the guest road for this weekend , but at least we have a bit more time to get the choice right
  14. Why ? I would love it going down to a last heat decider at Shielfield . We have hit 60 against anybody this season , what makes you think we could do that next week . Thats pretty derogatory towards the Bandits
  15. I'm glad I dont really get wound up anymore whether we win or lose anymore , cause if I get entertained every week like I did today , then all is well with the world
  16. Well done Edinburgh, but speedway was the winner today, that was a terrific meeting
  17. Yes I couldn't quite understand that during the week . Another success on the road and folk were wanting changes . Very strange
  18. The only credible opposition , Leicester , pumped at home by Poole tonight , so who's going to stop us ?
