Cookie wins heat 1 and MBA beats Rowe , and our two reserves 5-1 theirs in heat 2 , that's a good springboard

First leg for us then , no matter , we need to be on it right from the start to build a decent lead . Both sides should be at full strength , so let's do this Tigers

I cant recall any meeting this season , and I think I watch Cook race more than you , where Craig has received a ref warning for a starting offense. If Craig is guilty of rolling I'm sure at least one ref will have noticed since April .

Belle Vue I would imagine He was scoring well earlier in the season , then Bailey arrived and has progressed at a rate of knots and is now ahead of him , which seems to have had a negative effect on Kyle

Think we caught Somerset cold when we won there earlier in the season , as that was the first meeting with their revamped side . But I think we can keep things close enough to take the tie over the two legs . A lot depends on the lower order of both sides . Anders Rowe has done ok at home riding at 2 , Stoneman has improved , but Luke Harris seems to find the going at CL level hard going . Whereas for us , Connor Bailey gets better by the week and is starting to take the scalps of more experienced riders , Sam Jensen has undoubted potential , but is still at the stage of falling while trying too hard . Andersen is nothing special , while Bickley can gate but lacks the pace for four laps away from Ashfield . Its is still a bit of a concern that at the end of his second season he still hasn't reached a four point average despite all the hype surrounding him when he turned 16 . He still has time on his side though . Cook and Jensen are as good as any visiting riders round the Oak Tree Arena , while Vissing is capable of steady support . Schlein , Harris , Covatti and Morris have their work cut out to get the better of the clashes amongst the heat leaders

They don't though , there has been some decent GP's at Cardiff in the past , this however wasnt one of them

We weren't too bad on the home straight , there was this mad Russian woman behind us screaming EMEEEEEEEEEL , every time he was in a heat . That at least stopped me trying to stifle the yawns . Compared to the Pairs the night before , this was seriously dull . Cardiff is a great city and the atmosphere on the day is amazing . But the quality of the racing on Saturday night was as dull as dish water.

What a wonderful evenings entertainment , different gravy to the drivel we had to sit through 24 hours later in Cardiff . Almost every heat had superb racing , culminating in a pulsating final , though I did fear Rasser had blown it , but he fought back to pip Nicholls on the line , sparking wild celebrations among the substantial Glaswegian travelling support . We even had Cookie and Rasser travel with us to Cardiff , on our bus , after the meeting . Poor Rasser was a sorry looking sight at 7 o clock the following morning haha . Best Pairs meeting , not just because we won , for many a year . And who cares if you need to queue for a slash when you get a track and racing like that .

First time we've had a double header since 2011 if my memory is correct , but results this week have made it less of an important night for either visiting team . We wait and see how MBA is after last night's wonderful win at Redcar , plus who are the guests for the away sides . All we need now is for the rain to do one and it will be an enjoyable night with no pressure on any of the three sides

I think Leicester will pick Somerset , they will remember how well we did there , plus Redcar are the team to avoid the way they have rode since Riss' arrival

As Gaz says , it's all about opinions . I can only judge on meetings between the protagonists that I've seen . Redcar ran us close at Ashfield on both their visits this season . We beat Somerset relatively comfortably home and away , we coped with Leicester at home , denying them a point , while we only lost by 2 points down there in a meeting that we really should have won . Out of the other three sides in the play offs , Redcar are the one that I have the least confidence of beating over 2 legs

Yes Starke has been a big miss for us , and he rides Redcar pretty well . Redcar are the team with all the momentum, and i rate them favourites for the title . This meeting will be a guide to what sort of chance we have

Dress rehearsal for the play off semi final I would think. We ran you relatively close in the KO Cup , despite having Ty Proctor instead of Rasser . So it's a useful meeting to have at this stage of the season to get track time before the play offs

Likewise if we had Starke . But without the it's and buts , it was still a very good meeting

After last night I hope Berwick do reach the play offs , if you thought the tension and atmosphere was good last night , can you imagine a play off final

You should have stayed for a proper , competative meeting between two decent sides

On my way on the Choo Choo, this is going to be epic . C'mon the Bandits then c'mon the Tigers

Some of the times were in the 56's , so that doesn't suggest the track was really unfit . And the likes of Jake Allan , Ben Barker and Josh Auty didn't seem phased by it . Obviously it wasn't perfect given the amount of rain that had fallen on it on the days leading up to the meeting , but last week's heavy defeat had more to do with our mindset regarding the track , rather than the condition the track was in

I think if we hadn't had such a backlog , then the meeting last week wouldn't have went ahead . And that's the worry , if the same attitude is apparent tomorrow evening , then we'll be there for the taking
