He made his comeback by his own admission, because he had to try and earn money, even though he was struggling to see as he foolishly admitted on his website before it was quickly pulled! He also admitted in a much more recent interview, that he’s still nowhere near fit and didn’t expect to be before the season was out. Absolutely bonkers by Ipswich not to make a change this year but they MAY just get away with it. Makes you wonder how good they’d be if Riss was contributing the steady points he’s capable of and has shown in the past.

As always, the devil is in the detail. He scored 5 from effectively two rides last time out. Last season of the three meetings there, he scored 13 and 9 twice, one of those meetings featured two retirements. So whilst you’re correct, three retirements and a harsh exclusion in his last few visits there shows he hasn’t had the best of luck. There’s no guarantees he won’t have poor luck tomorrow either! That’s the nature of the sport. But I think 10 from him is a decent pitch as long as he’s fit.

Belle Vue vs Ipswich play off semi 1st leg
Aries replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Why don’t they just postpone both fixtures this week then, and run them Monday and Thursday next week? After all, we’ve seen comments from plenty including a Belle Vue fan saying we all want to see the best riders in these showpiece events so give Doyle a few days rest and let him ride in both fixtures next week. I’m sure the Belle Vue fans will agree with that?.. -
Belle Vue vs Ipswich play off semi 1st leg

I agree on the weather being a bit of a leveller. That I do agree with. As for the second leg, again it’s an even bigger loss for Ipswich if Doyle doesn’t ride. He’s phenomenal around Foxhall and irreplaceable. He’s tough and may declare himself fit, but then how fit will he actually be? It’ll be interesting to see. If the rain hits hard this evening, Thursday may well be the first leg. -

It was effectively 5 points from 2 rides as you full well know. Yes he missed the gate in his first ride and packed up at the back with machinery issues, but then looked fast in his next two and was clearly faster than Bewely in his fourth ride when he steamed under him and Bewely dropped it for which Doyle got ridiculously excluded. Let’s not start the “he’s no loss anyway” stuff because it just makes you look daft. And as for the second highlighted bit, nobody is falling for that old codswallop!! Why do fans do this nonsense? Make out their team is really up against it, underdogs, more disadvantaged than the opposition with injury, when it’s blatantly not true and they’re clearly strong favourites? It’s bizarre -

No, even if he wanted to which I’m sure he doesn’t. -

That’s a massive blow to Ipswich. Doyle is irreplaceable really particularly at Foxhall where he remains absolutely dominant. Across all fixtures this season his home average is over 11, GSA over 10 and a half. Almost a point more than Emil! -

It isn’t assessed, that’s not what that word means. It’s his official average that he achieved on track. If they want to play by those rules then his average should have been REASSESSED to an average that aligns to his current ability. And no he can’t guest as per the regulations I agree. -

Yes the latest declarations have Robert Lambert on an average of 7.81, how can that be an assessed average?? -
KO cup final dates Witches v Tigers 2023
Aries replied to Badge's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Went last night and what a cracking evening. So many happy smiling faces, not just the fans, but the riders too. Emil in particular was very excitable. And you get some miserable sods who will try and tell you it’s all pointless and not worth winning. There may not be a monetary prize, but its sport and standing on a podium and lifting silverware is very much worth winning to all those involved. Life in general can get so sh!t at times for all of us, so moments like these which puts smiles on so many faces even for a short while, should be embraced.- 197 replies

Peterborough Panthers vs King's Lynn Stars 14/09/23
Aries replied to hardtobeat89's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
That’s not the point he’s making as I’m sure you full well know. Whether he’s permitted to miss the meeting or not, the fact is that another rider is also in the same meeting so would also be permitted to miss if he wanted, is still riding for his club. It’s not a good look for the Lynn rider is it? Just another pi$$ take by another Johnny Foreigner who will miss meetings if allowed to do so at the drop of a hat. -
I agree with you. Nothing has been explained satisfactorily.

It makes no sense at all. We Know Neil Watson was/is also close to Ged Rathbone and has been liking posts but saying little. Perhaps, delicate negotiations are going on behind the scenes and nobody can say anything on the matter right now? Who knows. Of course nobody is entitled to know all the ins and outs on private negotiations and conversations, but there’s an awful lot of Peterborough supporters that will be hurting right now and thinking the club they love is about to die. For their sakes it needs to be resolved one way or another and full explanations need to be made when those involved are able to do so.

Unfortunately it seems as though Keith Chapman is of a different opinion and he’s the one currently running the show. Are they fighting WITH each other and FOR each other to keep Speedway at Peterborough? Or is there more than one fight going on here?
