  1. This is such an uplifting forum. When I’m feeling a bit down I love coming on here to read everyone’s cheery positive thoughts on the ol Speedway 😁
  2. It’s a combination of all of those where Ipswich is concerned. Doyle and Sayfutdinov were incredibly popular at Foxhall. To lose not just one but BOTH in one hit, and promoting your third heatleader to number 1, is a really hard sell I’m afraid. The new stream has compounded the issue. £15 to watch with your feet up at home, or £25 to travel to the outskirts of Ipswich after a day at work? 🥴
  3. He didn’t you’re right, but he’s picked up form elsewhere in recent weeks and is riding very well. I guess availability was an issue and they thought with his good form, he was the best option available.
  4. Was going to say similar GM but from memory he looked a lot better here last year. Surprisingly impressive in fact! Klindt can win races here also we know that. He likes Foxhall and openly names it as one of his better tracks.
  5. For me personally, it purely depends on whether the team is worth watching, rather than how many meetings there are. I brought a season ticket again this year because I felt it was right to support the new owner, despite not being particularly enthused with the team put together (and yes I know they done what they could in difficult circumstances). Despite having that season ticket, I’ve still missed a couple of meetings because I couldn’t be bothered to trek across town to watch a team that doesn’t particularly excite me. All the negative noise on here doesn’t bother me with people slamming British Speedway on a daily basis with one thing or another, it’s simply whether the team I’m watching is worth the effort to get up there and watch. I’ll wait to see the line up Coleman and co put together for ‘27 before I make any decision on whether I’ll regularly attend or not regardless of how many fixtures there’ll be.
  6. I get the impression Lawson wasn’t overly committed in racing in Poland or anywhere else abroad come to that. Maybe I’m wrong, but that’s the impression I get. Premiership and Championship over here probably does him nicely.
  7. Very much this as well. None of us know what is being discussed in the pits between manager and riders. Track conditions change during the course of a meeting. Musielak on this occasion looked quick early on, but by time heat 13 came along and the track completely slickened off, he ran a last and looked slow. It’s conceivable that he felt the conditions weren’t suiting him by that stage. As you rightly say, there’s lots of factors that come in to play that affect riders selection. Track conditions, machinery issues, illness, all sorts.
  8. Too much clay at Foxhall also. Again, stocks. The racing suffers as a result unfortunately. Because of the Stocks there’s also very little banking either. Louis was going to try and rectify that by lowering the inside to give it a banking “effect”, but the cost proved prohibitive when they realised all the drains would need digging up. Maybe it’s something that Coleman can now look in to.
  9. It’s criticising for the sake of it. The heat 15 choice was simply two from three candidates, and the manager went with the two better trappers and not the rider who tailed off badly against the same Belle Vue pairing two heats earlier! It’s all a bit bizarre on here at the moment and all a bit OTT.
  10. If by “basic managerial mistakes” you’re referring to his selection of Lawson and King over Musielak against Belle Vue, that’s just your opinion. My opinion, along with a few others around me at the time, understood the selection. Musielak got nowhere near Kurtz and Harris in 13, not sure why you’re confident he would have two heats later. It’s very easy with hindsight. On him throwing a “tantrum” (it was hardly that despite sensationalist “fuming” headlines in the write up), he criticised the away team on WitchesTV mid meeting whilst Ipswich were six up so he wasn’t using it as an excuse. His point was the Leicester manager and riders got in to the referees head and forced Bob Ellis to tyre pack the track despite the track man telling them it would only make things worse. It DID make things worse, and Hurry’s point was they should have listened to those with experience of track prep. Now everyone is entitled to have their own view on that and that’s fine, Leicester and their supporters will obviously have a different one. But Hurry is also entitled to have his opinion also and he had a right to voice it. Mountain out of molehills spring to mind here. Let’s not get in to the train of thought that we should gag those involved and stop them airing their views and voicing their opinions. I want them speaking their mind and would like to hear more of it in the future. It would have been good to see the reporter get Dickson’s view also and it was disappointing that wasn’t forthcoming (unless I missed it).
  11. He’s talking about the previous fixture against Belle Vue. To be fair to Hurry, it’s easy to question his selecting with the benefit of hindsight knowing Belle Vue had a last heat 1-5. But from their programmed rides, Lawson was 3, 1’, 3, 3 and King was 2, 2, 3, 3. Musielak was 3, 3, 3, 0. Although Musielak’s duck egg was a tough heat 13. It wasn’t an obvious choice for heat 15, and IMO King and Lawson are slightly better gaters than Tobi so I didn’t disagree with the choice at the time personally. I certainly wouldn’t describe it as a major clanger. On your second point about changes,, There are so few options once the season gets underway that any are likely to be like for like. People mention Doyle, but Belle Vue asked the question when they had a vacancy but we’re talking about a rider just shy of an 8 point average. You’d have to remove Brennan probably and at least one other, and with Brennan struggling everywhere and losing rides abroad, Coleman doesn’t strike me as the sort of owner to add to his problems and dump him here also. As I’ve said before, that may be irritating to supporters in the long term who want success and instant changes when things aren’t going well, but the flip side of that, is I can see Coleman being a popular owner for riders to ride for. He seems genuinely supportive and sympathetic to riders as we saw from the way he dealt with the rider insurance issue so I don’t think he’ll be short of offers from riders over the winter wanting to ride for him. That can only be of benefit to Ipswich.

  13. Brennan looks completely lost and down in the pits. Feel for him at the minute.
  14. The tv stream. None of them were comfortable early doors, they said so when interviewed, including Nicholls. Those early heats were farcical hence the track grade after heat 2 at the request of the riders.
  15. Coleman has spoken far far more about the issues and his concerns about British Speedway in general than he ever has about Ipswich specifically in the short time he’s been here 🙄 He has a duty to the supporters of the club he owns to give them hope for better in 2027 though.
  16. Companies house has been updated with Wroclaw now a “person with significant control” of Ipswich Speedway, along with the appointment of Artur Rusko as a director of Ipswich Speedway. Nothing we didn’t already know of course but it’s going to be interesting to see how this all plays out.
  17. It’s never normally as difficult as this where riders are free wheeling around the bends and struggling to turn. Settling a little better now though
  18. Track is a shocker riders struggling to even turn the bikes. None of them are happy
  19. Expect we’ll see the lowest attendance for many a year unfortunately. Pedersen needs to hit the ground running, Edwards needs to have his best meeting, Nicholls needs to do better than he’s managed so far, Tom needs to regain his best form and Tobi needs to maintain his. An awful lot needs to fall in to place to stop a first home defeat. Can’t see it personally but we’ll see.
  20. Nah I’d like to win that one Iain! Not looking likely at the minute though 😂
  21. They don’t strike me as the kind of owners/management that will make changes easily. Bangs was probably an extreme case and you get the impression they didn’t really wanna drop him either. They seem to like/want to back their riders as long as possible which although could become irritating to supporters in the long term especially if certain riders aren’t performing, it’s difficult to criticise.
