Pretty bloody obvious what his point was ffs š No need to be arsey -
Very few. He canāt be bothered with them usually and he makes no secret of that. A few clubs heās ridden for though have insisted he turns up or else. Ipswich was one of them.

Belle Vue v Ipswich March 24th KOC
Aries replied to Aries's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Donāt expect Emil and Doyle to outscore Kurtz and Bewley combined around here so we need to be winning the battles in other areas of the team, namely reserve. Just want to see us put up some sort of resistance here for a change. The record is embarrassing. -
Powerhouse of a team when you look at it like that. That engine room of Ellis and Brennan looks as though it could be fruitful. Strong at reserve also. If it stays injury free I canāt see anyone to touch it.
-
Theyāre literally the same as last year except the yellow cuts off a little sooner and is not a full stripe š
-
If they opted out of being a rising star then they would seriously reduce their options and potentially not a get a ride at all. Having to ride somewhere because youāve been picked is a complete nonsense. Riders MUST have a say in where they want to go.
-
It was definitely Jenkins that was the preferred choice, Flint was the second option. The selection process just doesnāt work for a number of reasons. The riders themselves MUST have a choice where they ride, they canāt and shouldnāt be forced to ride anywhere. Jenkins for example wasnāt even sure whether he would be eligible for a rising star berth and neither were the Ipswich club management. As soon as it was confirmed he was eligible again this year, the deal was done and that was that. If they are to insist on this scheme going forward, then they should just compile a list of eligible riders and then let the riders and clubs crack on with it like they do every other rider.
-
Wouldnāt touch Laguta with a barge pole.
-
They wanted Jenkins. Problem was he wanted Ipswich. Makes a mockery of the so called picking order though.
-
Already seen this years kevlars, Doyle was wearing them at the Peter Craven! Not that theyāre much different from season to season these days with the Tru colours.
-
Bit strange that. First time in my living memory theyāve held the practice on a different day to the press day. Always been press in the morning then up to Foxhall for afternoon practice.
-
That surprises me in this day and age. The cash turnstiles at Foxhall are getting quieter year by year and the online ticket and card payment gate are getting busier. Of course there are still ācash is Kingā people out there especially in the older generation, but thereās an increasing number of people around who really canāt be bothered going to a cashpoint, and then having a pocket full of change these days. Really need to have both options IMO. Or maybe Iāve misunderstood and although they donāt do online ticket sales, thereās a card payment option at the gate on the day?
-
Good point. Unlike Doyle he hasnāt had a year off and is a lot younger so yesterday could be more beneficial than a hindrance. Letās be honest itās almost impossible to call this one, any of the four I mentioned could win it. Edit: Actually chuck Lindgren in with those four! How could I forget him.
-
Following on BSN. Looking forward to it. Iād be surprised if the winner came from anyone other than Bewley, Kurtz, Lambert and Emil. Iād rule Doyle out of this one purely because itās 24 hours after his first meeting in nearly a year. At his age, Iād imagine he might be feeling a bit stiff this morning! Could have done with a few days between the meetings ideally from his perspective but weāll see. Iāll go for Bewley, rapid around here.
-
Iām trying not to read too much in to that, but King is usually handy around Lynn and after a good second first time out, three lasts including one heat that looked fairly easy on paper is a slight concern. Was only December he had surgery on his hand so fingers crossed he didnāt damage it in his opening rideā¦

Belle Vue v Ipswich March 24th KOC

Well it is isnāt it? Arch is correct here, you simply canāt be a true fan of a club if youāre not @rsed if they win trophies or not! If thatās the case then youāre just a fan of the Sport, not any particular club. And thereās a fair few of these nowadays sadly after many have lost their clubs but still like to follow the Sport. As someone who was born and bred in Ipswich, the first thing I want is my team to be successful. As I do the football team. I also donāt understand why so many on here comment that success is meaningless. That isnāt true either is it? There may not be much monetary value in winning, but pride in winning means a hell of a lot to supporters and the professional people involved. I watched us win the KOC a couple of seasons ago, wasnāt televised and no cameras present. Emil kissing his medal and having a smile longer than the A14 told you whether it meant anything or not. Likewise Mark Lemon and the Belle Vue riders hugging just about everybody and celebrating with their supporters last September, and Simon Stead and the Sheffield riders likewise the year before. These āpointlessā and āmeaninglessā shouts are bonkers. -
I think theyāve got that just about right personally. That top 4 looks play off certainties for me and I think the bottom 3 there will realise pretty quickly that theyāll have to make changes before they all get cut adrift of 4th spot. The race for a play off spot could be over and done with by July leaving us with a boring second half of the season if they donāt. Just canāt see any of those bottom 3 making any serious challenge.
-
Merry March! Speedway month has finally arrived. Still just over three weeks until this one, too early for a thread? Meh, who cares itās been a long Winter! First competitive fixture of the new season and it couldnāt have started with a better fixture IMO. Will Witches make a better fist of things here than we have in recent years? It has to happen sooner or later, the team is too good not to. A lot will depend on Doyle and how he starts the season. Thankfully, he has two or three warm up meetings before this so that should help. Within 10 and its job done, will fancy us to finish the job at Foxhall if we can manage that.
-
Not for the first time the village idiot has jumped in two footed without reading things properly and totally misunderstood what was being asked š NOBODY has said we should be bringing any of these songs back.
-
And Kingās last two seasonās there, 9, 10, 12 (missed a meeting through injury). Brennanās results there last year, 7, 13, 13! While Doyle and Emil obviously fill their boots there as well. Going to take a superhuman effort from Kingās Lynn to end our winning run against them thatās for sure but they DO have a better side this time around so there should be some decent meetings coming up. Looking forward to them.
