  1. the place has a lot to answer for, my dad met Ivan M there, my parents met there, and i met my ex wife there, my ex inlaws met there, so some good some not so good
  2. not another post deleted and i missed it too
  3. looks a good prospect, seen him in Czech Republic and Germany and he's looked really good both times, possibly better than Basso that everyone is raving about
  4. exactly my point, cantankerous old git
  5. seems like a number of threads have disappeared
  6. hated it, i knew so many people around the stadium through supporters club and mates i just felt too self conscious. brilliant track though, small but surprisingly fast
  7. used to be some good times on the Chalfont coach away trips
  8. was that when they started being sponsored by Chalfont Coaches?
  9. i think it was when the golfer took over, surname of Brown. i used to go chat to Maido in the speedway office during my lunch break when i worked in Copper Mill Lane around '84/5 time
  10. ok, to save the forum becoming overrun did anyone go to speedway prior to 1948 or can that award go to Hyam and we can all be done with it?
  11. that was my nan and grandad, they lived 2 mins from Plough Lane in Havelock Road
  12. agree, but a lot of places don't have anything to do with the food
  13. **cantankerous old git alert**
  14. my dad was a groundsman and my mum walked the greyhounds round before the race, that's how they met. my grandad also worked at the stadium
  15. i think having a rider only do home meetings now would be a big mistake, it would only create resentment amongst the rest of the team and be a nightmare for morale. what if BV made the playoffs, would that rider only do the home leg still? i remember when Kings Lynn had Adam Allott riding, that was like having a rider only for home meetings, and had a serious affect on the rest of the team.
  16. doesn't matter when his brother-in-law is a tattooist
  17. can see Kemp getting a 5.5 - 6 average in 2022
  18. i hope promotions have learnt a lesson not to pay guarantees but pay for points earnt. this is one of the problems i see in the sport when it comes to finances
  19. what day are they using in Poland for the U24 league?
  20. why leave it at that, go the full whack and include cockatiels as well
