  1. "The GPs are mainly for the locals and not for GP tourists?" Are you serious? Surely supporters from all around the world travel to the GPs! After all, they do not consist of a team of only Danish riders!!
  2. Congratulations to Len and Rye house on securing this prestigious event!
  3. Congratulations to Darcy, Jurica and to Patrick, who everyone seems to have forgotten.
  4. Thanks for that, Dutch Grasstrack. Much appreciated.
  5. He won the GP Qualifier earlier in the season on this track. He had done 160 laps around there in the days leading up to this event!
  6. With Crump and Parker both injured, there maybe changes to the Aussie list.
  7. Yes, an interesting line-up and had to pick a winner, although it is on the track owned by Jurica Pavlic's father. I wouldn't be surprised if Pavlic wins.
  8. Excatly what I thought. When will they ever learn that Speedway is unpredictable? Annoyed me that they were looking ahead all the time, trying to assess Emil's scores in each of his forthcming heats instead of concentrating on the race that was going on at the time. Grrrrr!
  9. Don't forget the 22 year old Chris Holder! Isn't Freddie Lindgren 24 this year? I believe he was born in 1985, the same year as Lindback.
  10. I believe the reason that the tracks are so slick for the GPs is Ole Olsen's input. He has stated that "Slick tracks make for better racing". In fact, slick tracks mean that there is NO Speedway racing as we know it - only Speedway riding! As a previous poster stated, Leszno and Bydgoszcz consistently produce fantastic racing surfaces for League meetings - why are they so different for the GPs? The answer has to be, again, Ole Olsen's input into their preparation. Almost every rider says that the track surface on which they practise, is totally different to that on the day of the meeting. Why is this?
  11. Strange that, since Tai didn't even make it to the Final of the GP Qualifier!
  12. No increase in the number of GPs next year, according to Ole Olsen (SS interview) . Looking to go farther afield perhaps in 2011.
  13. Well, Holder is "new blood" in the Gps for next year, is he not? Pleased that Hampel has got back in, too. As for Zorro, he won this meeting, so he has earned the right to be there, rather than just being given a seeded place.
  14. Well done Zorro and Chris and Jarek. Very pleased that Jarek is back in the GPs. Fantastic that Chris Holder has qualified - he deserves his place. Very surprised at Zorro's success, but he's done it.
  15. Perhaps the viewing figures for the GPs have fallen?
  16. Speedway Star says that if Bjerre and Lindgren finish in the top 3 at Coventry AND the top eight in the overall standings, then the riders in 4th and 5th place in the GP Challenge will go into the 2010 GP series.
  17. This was denied by Olsen in the Speedway Star last week. Says he doesn't know where the rumour came from! Olsen also says that there may be new GP venues in 2010, but expansion "to the other side of the world" is unlikely before 2011
  18. Not much different from "trailing at the back" which annoys me! Four riders in a race - one wins, one comes 2nd, one comes 3rd and one comes 4th, but not necessarily "trailing at the back"!
  19. Both Bridger and Woffinden DO ride in the Polish League for Czestachowa (sp) so they are being "trained by the Poles" ! Not sure about Danny King, but the rest of the GB team also ride regularly in Poland. The commentators said on Monday and again tonight that the GB youngsters don't ride in Poland. This was just after on Monday that Bridger said that he was using his Polish bike, tuned by Marcel Gerhard! Don't they listen? Well done, Team GB, on a very good performance tonight. Such a shame they just missed out in the end.
  20. The same thing happened when he rode for Poole. By August, he had just gone backwards! I noticed that the same thing happened last season. Maybe he burns himself out too quickly?
