Offloading Sullivan will surely free some space in the pay roll. -
Must be a cock-up in translation. It isn't about the cooling system per se, but about the new astro-turf pitch. Because the new cooling system isn't in place, so that they can't put protecting ice over the pitch, they are worried that the bikes will damage the new pitch. Getingarna offered to cover it but they wouldn't see reason.

Wild Cards For 09
Liverstam replied to beesbarmyarmy's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Getting slighly tired of your biased views Steve. Wasn't long ago you called Smolinski a no-hoper, yet he was very close to beating Bjarne Pedersen at Bydgoszcz. Shouldn't that perhaps tell you something about Holder aswell. Bjarne is some kind of superstar at Poole, but he is actually a rather mediocre rider where it matters - ie everywhere else. And if Bjarne is very far away from cutting it with the best on proper tracks, maybe Holder would not cakewalk competition the likes of Zagar either. Great promise as Holder has, he is absolutely not "clearly a far better rider than Zagar and Lindgren" at this moment. -
Andreas Jonsson To Boycott World Cup Next Season
Liverstam replied to Ghostwalker's topic in International World of Speedway
Seems very strange that AJ would leave Bydgoszcz when they return to the Ekstraliga after staying with them in Liga 1. -
But that takes tremendous amounts of both balls and skill, which most riders don't have. That's why they fold, that's why the move works, that's why Anderssen uses it etc. Nevermind, it was so good to see it fail
-
Well the option of "give in or die" is not much of an option I reckon I'm just saying, when Hans kills someone with that move (which he uses far too often) nobody will think it was hard but fair.
-
Well, as long as riders are intimidated and give in it's hard racing. If they don't give in, chances are good they will take a very nasty spill. At top speed since it's on the straights Hans uses this move. Would it be dirty riding then?
-
I must say I'm almost falling in love with Jason Crump, rather unexpectedly Firstly he told Jarek Hampel to pick the gate he wanted for the run-off, to just go out and win and not to worry about Crump because he would sort himself out. And then when Hans Andersen tried his usual tactic of almost putting riders through the fence on the straights - Jason wasn't intimidated just enraged and came back on Hans down the backstraight delivering the very same. Now that's a champion and a great team captain in the midst of combat.
-
Andersen was probably saved to save a few pennies, and Batchelor missed his flight! (Which means he has not ridden enough in Sweden this year to get an official average, which could prove detrimental for him for next season as regards to Sweden).

New Arena Safety Rules In Sweden.
Liverstam replied to Ghostwalker's topic in International World of Speedway
Run-off areas are the best, just look at road racing. Before they introduced the run-off areas riders where dropping like flies. Nowadays they can skid off at tremendous speeds and walk away unscathed. BUT, and that's a big but, could it work for speedway? You need the closeness or less it loses alot of it's appeal, and most tracks around the world would have to be re-built. -

Yes, shouldn't be a problem. The problem is to put it up and take it down every Tuesday, and where to store it in between meetings. I guess. -

I'm not so sure about well done SVEMO... Roll on an endless line of dispensation for tracks not able to meet the new demands. Well it's either that or close down altogether. -
Yes, perhaps you have seen too much of the drivel served up at Vetlanda through the years so that you no longer can regognize proper speedway?
-
There's talk of a punctured lung, although I have not seen a proper confirmation on that.
-
Have you been smoking crack tonight Anders? It was a brilliant meeting! At least live.. haven't seen the C+ broadcast yet.
-
But they do look quite strong if you have any idea of how poles ride outside of GB.
-
Utter contempt shown by the riders against the Swedish league tonight at Eskilstuna. I was there and the track wasn't a problem after the work put in. Safety reasons - no way. They just didn't feel like riding.

Scandinavian Gp Wild Card?
Liverstam replied to BelteshazzarBee's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Davidsson should have been picked. I wonder why the powers that be did not pick him? Perhaps they have a permanent wild card lined up for him next year. Peter Ljung IMO will probably not go further than his current level. -
Any chance of the full scores from that meeting, Smartace?
