  1. Roger, as a fellow Devils supporter can I ask you to consider carefully before you post. You are winning yourself and the Devils few friends on this forum. The Lord knows we have few enough already; indeed sometimes I'm not even sure that our promotion likes us
  2. And we will be delighted to see you. Don't expect anything too grand, but if you ignore the 'Scrapheap Challenge' exterior you will, I hope, see some good racing. I'll be more than happy to make myself known to you - usually stand on the apex of Bends 1 and 2.
  3. We are well used to that - look at last seasons results away from the SBA
  4. I'd say that is a pretty fair assessment. You can get pretty close to the racing which adds to the experience. I enjoy it a lot, but then I guess I'm biased
  5. Pretty much, just off the main A38 as you approach the city from the east. All the info you need here: http://plymouthdevils.proboards.com/index.cgi
  6. And we will be very pleased to see you Bob! We'll try to ignore the Pirates bit
  7. Cynical? Well, perhaps Realistic? Definitely! But - and you can trust me on this one - after last season every last Devils supporter is fed up to the back teeth with R/R.
  8. Not sure that the truth would wish to place its teeth anywhere in that vicinity
  9. But I've seen him quite clueless at the SBA since then. I think it fair to say that it is likely that there will be no middle ground. He will be utterly brilliant or utterly garbage. Not sure that the Devils need that - you might recall we had Kyle Hughes. We never knew what we were going to get, a meeting winner or quite the opposite.
  10. http://plymouthdevils.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=results&action=display&thread=1085 You can try this from the Devils supporters forum. Hope the link works and hope this helps
  11. Hi Mike,

What a great, great post on the Newcastle thread. My thoughts entirely. Whatever MB has or hasn't done what realy bugs me is that his selfish actions drag the Devils and the Devils supporters through the mire. Why SHOULD we feel the need to apologise for the actions of this promoter? This is the man who has TWICE shown his attitude to the fans - each time with a single finger!

  12. I've visited Hi Edge a number of times. To suggest that the track is at the mercy of the elements is probably an understatement. Hi Edge gets only extremes. Incredibly hot, cold, windy, wet or any combination. To suggest that the track preparation is poor is simplistic I would suggest. It is and can only be as good as the weather allows. Best wishes to both Jayne and the Hitmen for 2012; a promotion that reflects absolutely all that is best in the NL
  13. I rest my case m'lud As a bonus, he's a genuine and likeable lad. We hope you don't mind if we Devils keep a (distant) eye on his progress this season.
  14. We told you from the off that you had a real 'bargain' when you recruited Jaimie on an average that is starting to look a bit silly
  15. Plymouth new TR (start line moved 5m back so first lap is 221m, followed by 3 laps of 216m) 29th April 2011 Mark Simmonds 50.75 V Sheffield Read more: http://plymouthdevils.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=newtrackrecordsfrom2011&action=display&thread=1043#ixzz1LUvca42i
  16. I watched him ride at Buxton early last season and 'entertaining' is certainly a phrase one might have used. Personally I think TF22's alternative (above) would have been far more accurate. I have not seen him ride since (he was injured for the return meeting at Plymouth), but were he to control his undoubted speed and agression then he should go far.
  17. Hi Dean, Have really enjoyed watching you ride since my return to the sport in 2006. Thoroughly agree with your post. Older riders have consistently contributed vastly more than they ever took away from the AL/CL/NL. My view is that the introduction of this rule is an easy and cheap alternative to the BSPA actually addressing the real issue by investing in the future of the sport. For what it's worth, I think the BSPA should do everything within their power to (and this list is just a first stab in no particular order, please add your own ideas): Start the youngsters off on small bikes at an early age Create and promote positive environment where young riders and their family/supporters/sponsors are encouraged to partake in the sport Make the sport more accessible by ensuring that costs are maintained at a realistic level Provide an environment where the kids learn to compete and progress, particulary if they show talent None of which seems to happen at present.
  18. Ah ... good to see Malcolm. You won't get any hassle from me for your reply on this thread I look forward to the next instalment becoming available. You may rest assured that I'll be ordering my copy idc. Regards, Richard
  19. Hi Malcolm, Can we expect an addition to the already impressive collection that makes up the history of the AL/CL/NL? Holds breath ...
  20. And realy good value they are too. If I recall rightly from last season, entry to a PL/NL double header plus programme £16. Absolute bargain even if the Devils did get a proper slapping
  21. Very pleased to see a place for Jaimie Pickard at Stoke. Good luck to him AND the Potters for the forthcoming season. Good pick Malcolm! You have chosen a lad who is just beginning to realise that he actually has a lot of talent and with the increased confidence, his performances for the Devils leapt forward last season.
  22. How to dismiss a sad affair in one smug, off hand sentence
  23. I am delighted for Mr Morrish that he doesn't have to visit the rubbish facilities at Plymouth this season. Hopefully for Mr Morrish he won't EVER have to do so again. Charming man .... NOT Edit to correct speeling mistack
  24. Watched him ride for the US touring side. OK at NL level, maybe sneak a PL reserve place. Unless he's come on a hell of a lot in the meantime, EL? No way.
