Somerset Vs Plymouth Plc 19/4/13 7:30pm
ancient mariner replied to RebelRebel's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
If you want to get close to the racing, then Plymouth is the place for you. The new back straight stand - stunning viewing. -
And the good news is that as he and his team mates get a better understanding, he'll be able to do it even more effectively. Over the last two seasons at the SBA he pulled off some wonderful Ht 15 results, notably with Ricky Wells and Ryan Fisher who both knew exactly what to expect and (if they weren't already on a 5-1) rode accordingly. It was a joy to watch.
-
There were occasions when he took our breath away, sometimes his team riding was bordering on the sensational. Our loss is the Witches gain - the Witches supporters are a lucky bunch. I'm certain I'm not the only one who looks forward with huge anticipation to the Witches visit to the SBA
-
Bless you sir!

After the last two seasons 'lower mid table' will be like soaring with the eagles! As regards your proposal for a Falcons team, please see the link (you must be psychic!) - though not going as far as NL: http://www.thisisply...tail/story.html

Ah! And there you have me. Guily of sweeping statements Although come to think of it, maybe you might have ..............???
-
Sorry, but you're judging Dilger on the strength of just one meeting. Even the Bears fans were amazed as he had done nothing before that meeting and did nothing after, either at home or away.
-
After being in despair about a month ago, things are really looking up for us Devils supporters now. More power to the consortium's collective elbow. :approve:
-
He was pretty open about his dislike of the track. But as we saw plenty of times last season, he didn't ride it too bad (admittedly helped by some breathtaking team riding by Ben Barker). And if he and Ben had received more support from the other Devils they wou;ld have scored points away from home too. But I suspect he will be just too expensive Love the look of DC2's suggested team though
-
The bit of your post I've highlighted should mean that the Devils will be a much better structured team than previously. It was no different when the Devils were in the CL/NL, was it?
-
I'll miss him in the same way as I'd miss piles

Hope this helps. Fingers crossed that the link works http://www.thisisplymouth.co.uk/DEVILS-SET-SAVED/story-17411368-detail/story.html

Ben is the kind of rider every team wishes they had. He's a real live wire, can - and does - team ride - and boy oh boy does he entertain. The Witches supporters are in for a treat next season. I'll be delighted to see him back at the SBA next season no matter how many points he scores (and for quite a while now I didn't think I'd be able to say that!). Roll on next season

Things such as? -
He can plan it without me. I'll get my speedway from elsewhere in future, thank you. If he can't or won't pay the riders their dues then I'm certainly not going to give him any of my money.
-
Not too bothered, frankly. I guess that we can only hope that whoever rides for the Devils gets paid.

Plymouth V Workington - 10/08/12 Pl
ancient mariner replied to Taylorj's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Hi HT, A pleasure, as always, to meet you last night. Barker's exclusion in 13 was absolutely correct, going for a gap on the inside that was never there, though he didn't actually catch Adam's front wheel by much. Completely agree your summing up of 14 and 15. I know that the Comets fans have questioned the inclusion of Campton (who was an inspired choice of guest) in heat 15, but TBH I'm not sure it would have made any difference who was riding with Barker riding as he did. Worth the entrance money for that alone. -

So perhaps everyone is beginning to appreciate the situation that we Devils supporters have had to endure. I can only imagine what nonsense the riders may or may not have experienced, but I'm not in a position to say. Suffice it to say that we find ourselves desperately wanting rid of the current promotion but cr&pping ourselves that this will mean an end to speedway in Plymouth -

Normally I never bother with lotteries of any sort. This weekend and in the future I'm going to buy loads of tickets. If I win then I'm going to buy out the current promotion. I don't care what obscene price the current promotion asks, I just want rid of it. Trust me the Devils will be better off. Keep your fingers crossed everyone! Edited to remove angry stuff -

What is there to understand? A man who in my opinion knows the cost of everything and value of nothing -

Sad to say that there are those what predict and post and then those what predict and keep their counsel. Mark did fine until injuries ended his season. Seemond had retired and unwisely allowed himself to be persuaded to return to the PL. It was not nice to watch. -

Any why not? We had most of the Stoke team last year -

More like a budget as in Kwik Save or Scrapheap Challenge! Which explains why the Devils team comes in under the team building limit (this at the time of writing - there seems to be all sorts of speculation as to the Devils starting line-up at the moment) The promoter has used most of his defined budget for Fisher and so for the rest of the side cost will count for more than CMA in the promoter's eyes. It's hardly as if the promoter has a reputation for throwing his cash around. -

The Devils are a side built to fit a budget and not with the intention of anything else.
