Poole Pirates Vs Redcar Bears June 11th
Yearbyred replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
He must have impressed with his 3 points in the junior meeting at Poole last week. No idea why Jody Scott isn’t riding. Was looking forward to this meeting, not so much now. With a full team I felt we could push Poole close, much more difficult if we are short handed. -

Be a huge blow to the Bears if Jason isn’t fit, his form is one of the main reasons the team has looked good most of the season so far. -

Feel sorry for the busload of Bears fans who travelled down but probably best outcome for the team in terms of result. Poor communication from Plymouth promotion though, no mention that the meeting was in doubt at any stage, even 30 mins before the start when I decided to purchase the stream. -

Was considering purchasing the stream but given the cost and the fact the Bears have a much weakened team I’m not sure I will now. Unfortunate for the Bears to lose Riss at such a late stage and not be able to get a guest. If the Bears can keep it close for the aggregate point that will be a decent effort. -
Redcar Bears v Oxford Cheetahs - Live on BSN 30th June

Good competitive meeting in terms of it being close, without there being a lot of great racing. Bears started slowly and could never feel comfortable until right at the end. King, Riss and Edwards good for the Bears but Jody Scott deserved his rider of the night award for an excellent debut. Won Redcar the meeting with his points and looked very impressive. Impressed with Gusts and McDiarmid and Masters was quick when he gated. They look a good solid team. -
Workington v Redcar 10/05/25 3pm BSN series

I’d say your number 1 giving up and coasting round in 6 out of his 8 last races was more disgusting to be honest. I know which rider I’d rather have at No.1 (and I actually thought it wasn’t a dirty move but obviously wish Vuolas a speedy recovery) Really solid team performance from the Bears, excellent scores from 6 of the team. Pleased for Danny King who has taken a bit of stick from some Bears fans but has been excellent the last 2 meetings and for Ace who really got stuck in today. If Mulford and Edwards can keep contributing then it could be a very good season for the Bears. -

Well as an away supporter who wasn’t going to make the trip, the club will be getting revenue from me if I buy the stream. Lots of tracks are doing it these days so I assume it’s a benefit to the clubs rather than having a negative impact. -
Redcar v Workington BSN Series

Comfortable win for a 5 man Bears team in the end. Not a great meeting - took ages to get going, medical emergency, faulty tapes and two crashes in the first 2 heats meant it took an age to run the first few races. Horrible crash in heat 2 after Foord/Spencer got tangled and Pijper ran over Spencer. Be surprised if we see either of the Bears reserves tomorrow. Rowe was an excellent guest and Mulford and Edwards continued their good home form. Wrights pass in Heat 15 was the highlight of the night on a slick track. For the Comets there were flashes from Zischke and Bowes. Batchelor was his usual self, fine if he gated, gave up if he didn’t. -
No thread for last weeks so thought I better start one this week. Bears have Rowe guesting in place of Riss which you would think would weaken them, but the rest of the team all rode well last week so hopefully that will continue. Workington have riders who have scored well at Redcar in the past but might be a bit short on practice. Hard to predict this one.

Yes, Redcar stream their meetings.

Decent meeting and some good racing. From a Bears point of view they threw it away, couple of engine issues and points dropped from scoring positions. 12 heat winners and still losing is quite something. Mulford and Edwards have to contribute more if the Bears want to do anything away from home. Scorpions were pretty solid and Declan Kennedy looked good.

League Riders Championship 6th April 3pm (Scunthorpe)
Yearbyred replied to bez's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Obviously Erik’s cunning plan to “park his bike to cause a crash” yesterday has backfired on him. (I’m being sarcastic just in case anyone takes this literally) -
Well I wasn’t at the social event, but it was posted on the Bears facebook page pretty much as soon as it was announced and I posted it on here soon after. So a bit unfair to say it was only the privileged inner circle.
-
Confirmed as the team. Think most Bears fans will be happy with that.
-
I won’t feel bad with some of my cultural references now seeing as though Frank Spencer last appeared on our TV 46 years ago! If Edwards and Mulford can kick on it’s a decent team, but reserves look weak. However given the top 3 that was always going to be the case. If that’s the team of course.
-
Looks like a good line up to me. Doubt we will see many better looking (on paper) teams at the start of the season. Glasgow and Poole should be fighting it out at the top.

As usual the Bears full 1-7 will be announced at the Xmas party on 7th December.

Excellent meeting I thought watching the stream and congratulations to Josh Pickering, fully deserved winner, the sort of rider people want to watch. -

Well you can at all Redcar meetings so assume it’s no different. -

Edwards more likely to be Bears captain than leave in my opinion. Would be daft to get rid of him in my opinion and don’t see it happening.
