Redcar v Leicester Semi final

Are you suggesting the Bates family will politely remind these 2 riders of this information prior to the meeting? Maybe if Pickering doesn’t score well Leicester won’t want him? If Broc doesn’t have his work permit sponsored next year, we will now know why! -
From the Bears website:- It has also been confirmed that dates have now been set for the KO Cup Final against Newcastle and for the Teesside Silver Helmet. Redcar will stage the 1st leg of the cup final at home on Friday 11th October, with the 2nd leg taking place in Newcastle on Sunday 13th October. Duffill explained, “The Play Off’s must be completed before the KO Cup final, so we race this week against Leicester and then Friday 4th October is reserved for the Play Off final, should we make it. Ideally, I would have liked the 2nd leg of the KO Cup to have been at home, but that wasn’t fair on Newcastle, who are already having to wait 2 weeks for us to finish our Play Off fixtures and originally wanted to race this week. A compromise had to be made somewhere.”

On the train home now with my 12 year old son from our first ever Speedway GP and whilst the racing wasn’t the best it was a fantastic weekend and the Cardiff experience itself was wonderful. Bought my top tier tickets a year ago - less than £50 for two of us, great seats, stadium brilliant, atmosphere fantastic. Didn’t witness the bad behaviour others have mentioned. My 12 year old said it was the best night ever. Enjoyed the fanzone - can’t get as close to the stars in other sports and got loads of freebies, pics, autographs etc. Will be back next year definitely.

I hadn’t realised Newcastle’s possible 1 to 7 was an integral part of Redcar 2019.
-
Agreed - Leicester picking Lawson being an example.
-
I'm not sure Summers is a good option given that hes injured.
-
MPT current average is 7.87 ?

Heeps is a good shout for guest. Not sure I could trust a Worrall and don’t want him getting any extra practice at our place

Monumental task for the Bears to beat Leicester - all the Leicester top 5 are capable of double figure scores at MPA and Mountain likes the track too. Hopefully Bears can get a decent guest for MPT and Greaves is fit otherwise it could be over as a contest after the first leg.

Fixed that for you

1/10 for thinking that is the Redcar promoter. Less for your attempted spelling of his name.

From the Bears website:- Michael Palm Toft and Nathan Greaves were involved in a horrific crash during last night’s Championship League clash at Newcastle. Michael lifted coming off turn 2 during heat 12, falling from the rear of his bike and was run over by Nathan Greaves who was unable to avoid his fallen teammate. Both riders were taken straight to hospital for treatment, with Nathan being discharged after X-Rays. Nathan has sustained tissue and some ligament damage to his leg and hip, escaping without any breaks. Unfortunately, Michael has a fracture to one the vertebrae in his back and severe bruising to his chest and lungs. He has been kept Newcastle’s RVI Hospital for further assessment and monitoring. Nathan is hopeful that he will return before the end of the Agilia Bears season, but Michael has not been so fortunate, with his season coming to an end. We would like to wish both riders a speedy recovery and will keep you updated with their progress. So we might see Nathan again but it will be guests for MPT. Hope both guys recover quickly.

Well deserved win for the Tigers who looked sharper and faster than the Bears all night. Heat leaders were excellent and Sam Jensen and Bailey both attacked a track they had little experience on and had some great races. Off night for the Bears who were constantly out trapped early on. Threw away a few points with Riss shedding a chain and Andersen falling when leading but it’s hard to argue that they deserved anything out of the match. Be interesting to see who picks who in the playoffs. Suspect who ever the Bears get the opposition will have no fears riding at the MPA but it’s too early to right the Bears off yet.

Redcar's Press Release has him riding at 4.

Reason I said Leicester was that if Redcar were to race them over 2 legs I think we would struggle. The Leicester team is full of riders who go really well at Redcar, not just the heat leaders. Proctor, Perks, Mountain are all very good at the MPA.
-
I think Leicester are the clear favourites.

Both teams changed significantly from the first leg of the KOC - Bacon, Ulle & Smith replaced by Riss, Andersen and Woolley. Glasgow had Proctor, Sarjeant and Starke in their team. Should be a close one.
