  1. Agreed. Thanks for the update. Was just wondering if there was any more news, that's all. It is not clear how old articles on the news page are without a date being attached to them.
  2. Do you think the answer would have been any more than the update on the website after the Hall of Fame Dinner article?
  3. So little to do in the South West that they have to name the team after a county!
  4. Can't knock him on enthusiasm, that's for sure. Looks like you have a real character there. Good luck to him and the Witches for 2014 (just a little less than for the Rebels though).
  5. Absent due to sorting out travel in London for my boy, but still here thanks. He couldn't have picked a better couple of days to go to 'The Smoke'! Well at least it is finally sorted. If Ty can get back to the position he was in before injury (like a few other riders) then we should still be a competitive team. Perhaps last season may end up as the last Doyley will have in the PL. It was great to have him at Somerset but perhaps this is the beginning of a new era. I would personally still have liked Josh and Nick to head into that new era, but hindsight is such a wonderful thing. P.S. Come on Somerset, a bit of respect is due. Get the signing of Ty on the website at least at the same time as the BSPA website. Welcome to Somerset Ty.
  6. Give us a break 'Taylorj'. You don't half enjoy sticking the knife in when we are down (or up -- infact at any time). I would imagine winning the League probably cost us very dear as other clubs have found and as such were unable to offer signature securing deals to all the riders we really wanted, so think yourself lucky that you actually got Josh. Perhaps if you do win the League (which I think may well be a reality) your promotion will find it as much of a burden than it is a blessing. Now go and cool down with a nice swim in the pool with all those highly radioactive caskets you have up there and leave us Rebels to worry about the season ahead.
  7. More like his mate Debbie while having Sunday lunch at the Oak Tree.
  8. Much to Somerset's loss in my opinion. Josh was bit of a gamble last year which worked out particularly well. After it was rumoured that Doyley would not be riding PL (before the vias fiasco) I would have been more than pleased with Nick and Josh as our heat leaders and base the remainder of the team around them. As it happens, perhaps it would have been a good move, although hindsight is a wonderful thing. Also may have been a non-starter if Josh did not want to stay, mores the pity. Perhaps it also revolved around his availability riding for Poole too? Hope Josh does well for you this year. Seems like the promotion are still working hard to resolve the Doyley visa problems but they may have to admit defeat sooner rather than later so as to implement a salvage scheme.
  9. About 5 feet in my particular case. And before anyone says, yes I'm a short ar(person).
  10. Surely it has to be Anders as he is your highest averaged rider?
  11. Never one to miss an opportunity to get a dig in 'Taylorj'. At least you are consistent if not very annoying. Hope Workington have a good season with Josh at the helm and look forward to seeing him in action again at the OTA.
  12. Or do a 'dietbowers' and support the opposition!I'm lucky enough to live just down the road from the OTA but like yourself I'm getting a bit disillusioned with the sport and that is following winning the title! Or could I just be suffering from SAD, Speedway Abstenance Disorder?
  13. Is it just me who is feeling a bit concerned at the moment? Last year, three and arguably four top Aussies in Doyley, Nick, Josh and Alex. Now it is potentially looking like none of the above (Doyley with visa problems, Nick released after an almighty mess-up, Josh & Alex moving on) with two newcomers, one without a proven record. After all the problems last year with Sam and Mason's visas, I wouldn't hold out much hope for Doyley. Worried, Very worried!
  14. Well I think that it will definately NOT be Edward Kennett. 10.65! Ouch. Mason Campton for me. (Not that I'm coming out or anything. Oo, er, missus.)
  15. I do hope that clears up soon for your sake. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
  16. Good point. If my memory serves me correctly, someone else on another thread detailed riders who would be effected in such a way and surprisinlgy enough there weren't that many. If someone would like to do a trawl, that would be interesting. I don't know of who is an assett of who to do it myself. Just as well Doyley has signed for Leicester!
  17. And the availability of him by his parent EL club of course.
  18. Wishing all speedway fans a Very Happy Christmas.
  19. The thing that hacks me off is that Gary had a format that he wanted to follow and that has now completely gone pear shaped. We now dont have any particular format other than 'disaster'. 2 from 7 is hardly risk reduction. Keep you fingers, toes and whatever else you can cross, crossed that it all pans out sucessfully. I do sympathise with Oldtimers viewpoint too.
  20. Spot on. All to race for now. Some very bold moves from Gary which could be a make or break season. Well when I say make or break, either in or well out of the playoffs. Quite a bit of pressure on riders throughout the team I would say. Only time will tell. Wishing the weeks away until the start of the season. Well except from an individual Workington supporter. Nothing wrong with a bit of rivalry but most supporters appreciate what it takes to win the league/playoffs so are not jealous at all.
  21. Talking of fence, is it going to be air or polyfoam?
  22. This teambuilding by elimination is great!
