  1. Codeine, which is the Co part of Co-Codamol, is an Opiate so is going to flag up a problem in a drug test.
  2. Ah.....never thought of checking Swedish speedway, I just looked at Denmark....silly me...
  3. Why is our number 3 position marked as "to be confirmed" on the SpeedwayGB website?.......is there doubt over Rasmus riding?
  4. Aye.....very funny. At least, I HOPE it was a joke.......lol
  5. Maybe all wary in case of another drug test........lol.
  6. Yeah SR, I think they'll do their damnedest to get this meeting running on Saturday. That's the way of FIM events and they'll only restage if the track is not rideable or dangerous. Only thing is, the rain might keep some of the less fanatical punters away.
  7. You can let me know R&R......'cause I sure won't be watching this meaningless nonsense again......
  8. Can't see it lasting long......Totally embarrassing listening to Tatum and Pearson trying to talk up this boring, worthless crap. I DID enjoy the rider interviews though...........NOT! Absolute waste of time in my opinion.
  9. Don't think I've ever seen anyone go into a bend quicker at Glasgow than Robert Lambert at one particular meeting. Can't remember his overall performance though.....that overtaking move just sticks in my head.
  10. Had to laugh a wee bit when Zaine Kennedy (who earlier had said there was no reason they couldn't turn the Glasgow result at Sheffield around) throttled off in anger when Kyle Bickley beat him, only to allow Paul Starke across the line in front of him......lol
  11. Got to say I'm disappointed Connor Coles hasn't been given the chance after the excellent job he's done recently. I've read that the management have been targeting Bailey for a wee while, so can understand the "unfortunate timing" issue but I just hope he is ready for the Championship as he only stepped up to 500 bikes fairly recently. Hope he does ok though.
  12. You make a good point here, but surely your percentage is a good bit out....there are certainly many at all clubs who couldn't care less about away fixtures.....or where they are in the league.
  13. Yup.........Cook a class act and a joy to watch. Jensen a pure racer with a great style and never gives up, Vissing likewise. Bickley another stylish rider who's going places quickly.
  14. A couple of years ago there would have been multiple pages of comments on here by now. Sad state of affairs these days.....
  15. IT takes a very special person to successfully commentate on motor sport and a very, very special person to be able to do it on a one minute speedway race. Not for me I'm afraid.....
  16. I'm not one for condoning knee jerk reactions and would normally give riders plenty of time to settle, but after seeing Luke in the first meeting it was obvious he is not ready for this league..........but I thought to myself "who could we replace him with?" After last night's performance my question was answered.......ANYONE. He looked totally uncomfortable on the bike and was really riding like a total novice at some points showing little or no confidence. I really feel sorry for him but it's obvious he needs more time on the bike without the pressures of being in this league. It will only worsen his confidence if he remains.
  17. Rasmus and James both had outings as well Dorothy. Rasmus doing rather well in a competitive field at Belle View.
  18. Well, that just shows what a mess the sport is in if that's the cost at this junior level. No wonder new riders cannot be attracted? Sponsorship, if you can get it, should be an added bonus, not a requirement for youngsters starting out. Just out of curiosity.....is there a need for two bikes at this level of the sport? I know it's desirable right enough to have a back up, but is it totally necessary? Anyhow, good luck to you and your boy for the future.
  19. Very, very sad news.......like a death in the family of Speedway. So sorry for all supporters, riders and everyone else involved. Mildly tweaking the product at the conference didn't go far enough......MAJOR changes are required in respect of the financial viability of our sport to prevent further future closures....but it has all been said before and fallen on deaf ears.
  20. That's one solid looking team......should do really well.
  21. I always thought those two were of the same mould........good when they can be bothered but very much up and down and can be a bit moody.
  22. Why are people on here continuing to perpetuate this bitterness toward Glasgow? Speedway fans in the past have been like a family who can enjoy great banter, but recently this has descended into football-like hatred and is tending to create ill feeling. It's all been covered earlier on this thread but some people can't move on and are resurrecting the same old guff about what they "know" or "have heard" about how Glasgow run their business. As I said before, other clubs would similarly splash the cash had they Glasgow's wherewithal. It would be foolish for anyone to think otherwise.
  23. Reminds me of Mick Powell holding off Hamill and Hancock at Shawfield..........wonderful to watch.......
  24. It was Jack's choice not to return, as far as I'm aware, or I'm sure he would have been considered. Can't see us reneging on Jensen at this stage, so we're stuck with a very, very long tail and a hard season ahead I suspect. Some strong teams out there.......
