  1. Schoolboy error by Drury and just shows how much an experienced promoter and former MC member knows about the sport. It also should also have been picked up by the match referee, as others have said the line ups website for officials was implemented to avoid exactly this situation. As others say it just ruined the match and a cup final at that, I did not see how anyone can lay the blame at Eastbourne,s door if they didn't complain, fault is down to Drury and the Referee. Be interesting to know who the referee was.
  2. I think a lot of what you say is right, let all Brits double up, run EL and PL on different nights of the week.
  3. I think the Peterborough management didn't feel he was quite ready for PL which is why he wasn't in the Panthers team, bearing in mind his scoring this year and what the Newcastle supporters keep saying I think the Peterborough management decision was spot on.
  4. Of course your assuming Eastbourne and Birmingham pay normal NL pay rates, my information is Ellis is paid well above that which possibly explains his reluctance to do PL. I rather suspect that like a lot of the more successful teams in any of the leagues, they pay a little more than the norm.
  5. I rather think that's already been discussed, whether or not it's agreed is anyone's guess. I would have thought it was basic common sense but speedway regulations don't have a habit of including common sense from my experience.
  6. So why didn't Hancock say that when interviewed by Brandon after the awards ceremony. This GP deserves to be remembered for its quality of racing and fitting end to the series and not the poor behaviour of a rider who really should know how to behave towards his sponsors and supporters.
  7. Not really baffling if my information is right, all to do with what Eastbourne are paying him. Some riders are just happy to ride and earn good money.
  8. To be fair Phil much the same can be said about some of the Lakeside riders who score loads of points at Lakeside but hardly any anywhere else. Averages completely dictate our sport and yet the EL use a race format that severely distorts averages depending upon on where you ride in the team, they should have ditched it as soon as they realised it was going to cause problems not persist with it for two years. The current PL format is fair and provides a good service, the EL format is complete shyte. I only wish the GS averages showed a bit more detail, matches ridden and a breakdown for home and away would be helpful.
  9. Presumably it isn't easy, probably why you haven't even got close for nearly two decades I rather think Laura needs it more. Ged made it plain no rider news until they know exactly what the format and team limit is for next season but he will be in a position to start revealing riders after the AGM finishes in early November. Sunday nights at 5.00pm seemed the popular choice for many but EL racing at the Showground isn't on the agenda as unfortunately the maths and supporters don't add up to cover the costs.
  10. Really, perhaps you can advise us what sort of team we should have for the job.
  11. Unfortunately it's right, the rules are at fault for this, as has been said many times the rulebook is a crock of shyte
  12. Got to watch this leg for the first time this afternoon I thought it was an excellent match and great advert for the sport.
  13. I disagree, Its all about set ups and starting on the small ones
  14. Riders don't speak out because if they do they are unlikely to ever get their money and if they withhold their services they get a ban to boot.
  15. Not quite sure any normal speedway fan will be rubbing their hands as for the majority it's sad to see any club go under like this.
  16. That's a cracker bearing in mind who you work for.
  17. And how many tracks would be asking for an assessment on a rider after the cut off date for transfer, let's be fair with full knowledge of who had just got hurt it wouldn't take a detective to work it out. And that statement Philip sums up the main complaint I have with the BSPA office and MC. If it's fair, honest and can be properly explained it would end most of the complaints on here before they were started. I am assured it's been suggested at BSPA meetings in the past.
  18. It needs to have been started months ago for it to be ready for next year
  19. I should think every supporter (other than Poole fans) will be rooting for Wolves tomorrow
