To be fair he is probably right, it was ruined by greedy hotels and the price of tickets which went up year on year, the racing has on occasion been very good but mostly just ok. it was the golden goose and some person or persons decided to see just how much they could make year on year without a thought for the supporters, the fact that it wasn’t weather dependent played a big part as well. The fact that half the field shouldn’t be anywhere near the event and the constant tinkering with the points allocation and rules hasn’t helped either.
