  1. Of course it doesn’t have to be a Lynn supporter, I would have thought a lot of Ipswich fans will be there considering it’s important for Ipswich to win.
  2. Peterborough face Sheffield again Monday with the Tigers again missing their No 1 but on this occasion it’s Tai Woffinden missing following his crash in the British GP. Panthers face a 6 point deficit for the aggregate point after losing the first leg 42-48 on the 17th August at Sheffield. Teams Peterborough - Artem Laguta, Chris Harris, Vadim Tarasenko, Benjamin Basso, Niels K Iversen, Ben Cook, Jordan Jenkins. Sheffield - Tai Woffinden R/R, Kyle Howarth, Chris Holder, Josh Pickering, Tobias Musielak, Claus Vissing, Jason Edwards.
  3. I am reliably informed that the comments on the AEPG Facebook page and the PCC planning applications website are causing problems for the company as pretty much all the comments are objections to the application. A few are thinking the Facebook page will shortly be removed due to the flak they are currently getting so any help from other supporters will be greatly appreciated, it’s important because a lot is going on behind the scenes and it’s in no way a foregone conclusion that this application will be approved and even if it is it will take quite a few years to get off the ground. Please mention in any comments the 53 year history and heritage of Peterborough Speedway and the fact that this planning application fails the PCC local plans LP30 and LP36. PCC LP30 refers to the fact that the loss of any existing leisure and sports facilities will not be supported unless replacement facilities are provided in accordance with policy LP30. PCC LP36 refers to the fact that no plans will be approved for more than 650 dwellings on the Showground, AEPG current plans are for 1500 dwellings. The aim is to continue at the Showground which will give the club time to relocate if necessary without any break in speedway, at the moment AEPG won’t even agree to a meeting or talk about the likelihood at all past 2023.
  4. I think that view is shared by everyone, complete waste of everyone’s time turning up and riding a lawnmower
  5. Simon Lambert would have been better than Laguta tonight
  6. I was told tonight that why Laguta is at Peterborough, we get enough support to be able to afford him and Lynn didn’t.
  7. Well Dickson has made some strange changes but his biggest mistake was getting rid of Harris, their is good reasons for no one really wanting Batchelor and Cook and recent moves just smack of desperation, I suspect he has totally done the confidence and team spirit with all the recent changes.
  8. Buster rarely ever gets on a tractor at Peterborough unless their are real pre meeting problems he leaves it to the track staff Dean and Luke, it’s them that make a super grippy white line which inevitably means the outside rarely works well before the interval. Its been like this for years and the high clay content doesn’t help but the bottom line is the racing isn’t as good early doors but generally improves during the meeting as the dirt line gets wider. Attendance last was pretty good and much better than most thought it would be, I would estimate between 1200 to 1400, the meeting was also good I dare say the Peterborough fans enjoyed it more because their team won and clinched the aggregate point as well, I certainly did. Clearly Sheffield were handicapped by having to use RR for Musielak which only got them 5 points, it’s likely Musielak would have doubled that but Peterborough have had that sort of luck for the best part of two years so you just have to take it on the chin although Stead did a good take off of Ritchie Hawkins face like a slapped arse when interviewed. Woffinden did his job and was backed up by Pickering and Kerr who both had their moments but Ellis was dreadful and Howarth after winning heat 1 did little else. Panthers on the other hand we’re rock solid all the way through and had a free scoring reserve and never looked threatened for the points although the aggregate was a real bonus and the team got a richly deserved ovation afterwards.
  9. So will Panthers put a dent in Sheffields play off push and win their second match of the season, or will Woffinden inspire the Tigers to victory. Teams Peterborough - Chris Harris, Vadim Tarasenko, Ben Basso, Ben Cook, Niels K Iversen, Patryk Wojdylo, Jordan Jenkins. Sheffield - Tobiasz Musielak, Kyle Howarth, Adam Ellis, Josh Pickering, Tai Woffinden, Lewis Kerr, Dan Gilkes.
  10. It’s no great surprise is it, Cardiff fans have been totally ripped off by ticket and hotel prices for years now and after last years rubbish show it appears many have called time on the event, for the first time in a long time I don’t know anyone amongst my circle of friends who is actually going this year.
  11. On the basis of what’s gone in this year with GSA I would be surprised if it’s not as I have said.
  12. He has been a target for years and despite several offers he clearly prefers Wolves, I don’t think I have ever known him to have a bad night at Peterborough.
  13. Clearly your interpretation of racing is different to mind if you find follow the leader decent.
  14. Most fans just want their team to be competitive and have a decent race track which allows racing and overtaking, it really doesn't matter whether it’s Premiership or Championship. Unfortunately I am told lay-downs react to grippy or deep tracks more causing more problems for the inexperienced riders. Predominately the better riders like slick conditions especially the better trappers who can then win more easily when they make the gate. But you of course this makes for boring gate and go meetings which doesn’t encourage supporters to attend. If the racing was decent then I dare say more supporters would attend and you wouldn’t see stadiums 90% empty like this weeks World Cup so far.
  15. And to be far that’s the whole way speedway is going all over, lay downs produce so much power that any type of deep or grippy track makes them almost impossible to control. But everyone loves gate and go crap because it’s exciting and the fans love it. And the powers that be wonder why this sport is dying on its arse.
