  1. Clearly your interpretation of racing is different to mind if you find follow the leader decent.
  2. Most fans just want their team to be competitive and have a decent race track which allows racing and overtaking, it really doesn't matter whether it’s Premiership or Championship. Unfortunately I am told lay-downs react to grippy or deep tracks more causing more problems for the inexperienced riders. Predominately the better riders like slick conditions especially the better trappers who can then win more easily when they make the gate. But you of course this makes for boring gate and go meetings which doesn’t encourage supporters to attend. If the racing was decent then I dare say more supporters would attend and you wouldn’t see stadiums 90% empty like this weeks World Cup so far.
  3. And to be far that’s the whole way speedway is going all over, lay downs produce so much power that any type of deep or grippy track makes them almost impossible to control. But everyone loves gate and go crap because it’s exciting and the fans love it. And the powers that be wonder why this sport is dying on its arse.
  4. The track was dreadful, on that showing I don’t see many rushing back tomorrow to watch that load of rubbish again
  5. In years gone by we had a racetrack that didn’t contain a significant amount of clay, unfortunately that isn’t the case now.
  6. It chucked it down all day and was still raining at 10pm last night
  7. It rained hard practically all day yesterday, more later today and overnight and a shocking weather forecast for Monday. I would guess the racetrack is a quagmire.
  8. Peterborough had a lot of heavy rain yesterday and more is forecast this afternoon and tomorrow morning. I would strongly recommend checking the respective websites before travelling for this match.
  9. After having my star come on time pretty much every Thursday by their alternative deliverer the second week back to Royal Mail it was late arriving.
  10. Zach Cook would have been my choice, could have travelled up with his brother
  11. Story on the Peterborough Telegraph website covers his absence
  12. Riders excluded for Failing/Positive Doping Test - Excluded from the meeting with no facility other than reserves and TS, 2023 Speedway Regulations
  13. Because they followed the rulebook and that’s what it states. 8.2.1 I) A refusal to undergo Anti Doping testing will be regarded for the purpose of application of penalties, identical to a positive test. 8.2.1 j) A rider who refuses to submit themselves prior to the start f heat 1to Anti Doping testing will be automatically excluded from further participation in that particular event. 8.2.1 z) If the outcome of the test(s) result is an immediate exclusion from the event, reserves or TS may be used to take the programmed rides where the excluded rider may have ridden Seems to have been followed to the letter.
  14. Viewing is very good, track and pits are rubbish
  15. As explained earlier David, Niels could have been given a few seconds more, he had just done heats 12 & 13 so I dare say he needed some maintenance and possibly a tyre edge change., which was why he was late going to the gate. It sounds reasonable to me.
  16. Wayne Jarvis by his decision to exclude NKI delayed the meeting even more and made heat 15 a virtual non event bearing in mind FRICKE was unbeaten and Lawson had only been beaten once by NKI. Common sense should have been applied, supporters go to watch speedway not referees making poor decisions
  17. Surprisingly the crowds at Peterborough have been fairly good all season, a good bit better than Lynn I might add even though they have an excellent No 1.
  18. Yep, Apart from the Pairs last year nothing since 1998
  19. Some reasonable points but NKI rode in heats 12, 13 and 15 so clearly could have had issues that needed attention including a likely tyre change, fuel, oil etc. Bearing in mind that the race wasn't deciding anything either points or aggregate etc, I think some time and common sense should have been applied and unfortunately Jarvis showed niether, having stated that Iversen was excluded for delaying the start the exclusion this action then delayed the meeting conclusion for another few minutes whilst his replacement got ready and appeared. It was all so pointless.
